"Thanks!" to many of you, who shared the following news/email from J.Crew Factory with us.
J.Crew Factory is offering a sneak peek at the latest arrivals! To promote early shopping, they are offering 30% off everything with promo code SALE30! Plus, free shipping
(no min!) on every order. Both these offers are just for today! So check your email to
see if you got the invite.
This round of new arrivals is a bit lack-luster, in my humble opinion. I did not see any new jackets and the number of new sweaters is minimal. Weird considering this is the time of year to be pushing both categories. But J.Crew Factory did manage to offer a lot of sleeveless tops and shorts. ...Um okay. ;)
Have you received this email? Will you be taking advantage of this
promotion? Any items you are interested in? If so, please share!
Yeah, it was very spring-like for December. I was hoping for more Holiday items. I did get the stripe pullover hoodie though.
ReplyDeleteI agree Alexis and FriendlyFemme. Why so many items that are out-of-season for most of the country? J.Crew has been doing this for a couple of years now, and it has grown quite old and annoying, IMHO.
DeleteAlso, as someone who lives in a state where shorts and sleeveless tops can be worn pretty much year round (if you choose to), I do not even want to see spring-like items in the fall and winter months. I really wish J.Crew would just go back to selling clothing that is wearable for the season happening at the time.
DeleteYes, I wish so too. I live in the Midwest, and I do not want to see short sleeves and shorts right now.
DeleteIt's finally really cold in Northern California. I'm in 3 layers currently, so the very last thing I need to see in terms of clothing are shorts, tee shirts, and Spring colors! This rollout sure doesn't get me in the mood to buy since just looking at the offerings sends a chill down my spine. I want things so can wear now, not things I will wear in 4 months!
DeleteI totally agree with you FFM. We were just at 86 degrees yesterday where I live, but will be at 38 tomorrow (crazy). I really want some warm winter pieces while I can still appreciate them. I don’t feel right buying spring clothes in December, really…even when its 80 degrees out…ha!
DeleteIt is resort season. I just picked up some shorts for an upcoming vacation after the holidays.
DeleteAgree with Melissa. It's nearly resort season for the runways.
DeletePerhaps J Crew should have a resort/warm weather vacation section on the web site? That might work for Melissa, Phoebe and others.
DeleteBut remember when we were all puzzled by the robust sweater offerings this summer? JC was pushing a lot of featherweight cashmere etc. that has ended up on significant markdown now. While I wouldn't object to a resort/vacation section, I can't stand the weirdly offseason offerings. I don't really care what is currently on the runways. J Crew is, ultimately, a mall store, and that's where they make most of their money.
"that's where they make most of their money."
DeleteDo you know that for a fact? Do you know the exact demographics of the average J. Crew customer? How much money they are getting from which customers? Which stores are the most profitable? JCA is only representative of a small percentage of the millions of people that shop at J. Crew every year. And remember, J. Crew tries to encompass everyone in their target market. If you do not like something, and everyone you know doesn't like it (that could even be 100 people), it is in no way representative of millions. Or even thousands for that matter.
Would someone post a link for the early access? I've been a member of Factory First since the beginning, but these emails are no longer appearing in my inbox...
ReplyDeleteProfessor Brady: Try this link. :)
DeleteMany thanks, FFM!
ReplyDeleteI have somehow dropped off the JCF daily email list also! Anybody know why? I can promise you it's not because they aren't getting enough of my money!!!
ReplyDeleteI created a gmail email just for Jcrew. I complained and emailed them and they assure me I was on their list. I now get all of them. I have yahoo for my regular email.
DeleteI have two tops (lace front and t-shirt long sleeved). I bought the burgundy and the black. I have only worn the burgundy once...and it look like a sloppy stretch out rag after only three hours of wear....the black is going to GOODWILL. cheap cheap ....stuff. sorry if I am raining on anyones parade...but beware !
ReplyDeleteVERY Meh!!!
ReplyDeleteI missed out on the navy/yellow scroll print last year so I was happy to see it back until I saw they are once again three inch shorts!!! Why???? Hopefully they do additional items in this print.
ReplyDeleteShorts? I haven't looked but will head over now.
ReplyDeleteI reviewed a few Factory items in this post. They are the jeweled-collar Charley sweater, warmspun Fair Isle sweater, printed silk blouse (pink/black grid stripe), heart metallic tee (thumbs up) & sequin bow tee (thumbs down).
I have my eye on a couple of things.
ReplyDeleteSome factory reviews here.
Review of the tipped silk tee in windowpane, linen scarf tee, colorblock crewneck and the floral embossed sweater on my blog here.
ReplyDeleteAlso new markdowns in store:the open cardi and the lace skirt.
I'm DESPERATELY looking for J. Crew gold dust mesh bell skirt in a small.
ReplyDeletePLEASE PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHO AND WHERE I CAN FIND THIS.
PSA if anyone is looking to buy the double-cloth tipped coat -- I just stopped by my b&m (Green Hills Mall in Nashville) and they are marked down to $279 with an extra 30%. The SA also stacked my student discount as well. The coat is still $398 online and I just bought it for $166. SCORE!
ReplyDeleteThe only shirt I'm interested in this rollout is already backordered - The Factory Framed Dot Collector Tee.(Why are these item names soooo long??? lol) I'm thinking I might be able to swing by a store this weekend and take a look at it.
ReplyDeletePrices haven't flipped yet, but factory site is showing 40%-60% OFF EVERYTHING.* PLUS, EXTRA 15% OFF & FREE SHIPPING WITH CODE 12DAYS
ReplyDeleteThis rollout was underwhelming. I think their jewelry has gotten cheaper looking too (in person).
