Per usual this time of year, J.Crew offers the random gift items that are not a part of their normal merchandise line. For example, the coffee cup and jewelry tray.
P.S. Is J.Crew still offering their "Gift Clubs" this year? I looked, but could not see any mention of it on the website. In the past, they would offer Jewelry (of the month), Shoes, and the like. Just curious what this year's version is (if there is one).
What are your thoughts on the randoms? Do you buy them pre-Holiday season for yourself or for others? Do you wait for them to go on sale (like me)?

I'm with Alexis - I buy these items only on super sale (if at all). I bet they make a profit though, even on super sale.
ReplyDeleteSometimes they do have neat things, and I wait for them to be marked down...I got a dodo case for my kindle last year through JCrew. It was an $80 case and I think I wound up getting it for $20.
ReplyDeleteSuper sale is the only way I would pick up most of this stuff! However, I really do like the navy jewelry tray, so will put it on my Christmas List for this year. Not going to buy it myself however. :)

DeleteI also thought the jewelry trays were really cute, and since I was able to still use the 25%GOSHOP promo when they first came out, I picked one up! Haven't received it yet, so I can't comment on it further...
ReplyDeleteI purchased the makeup brush set in the leopard case as a ride along to get free shipping item 05165. I thought I would give it to my daughter but it is way smaller in size than I expected and I'm not sure it was worth the price even with the extra 40% off. I haven't really opened them up yet to check the quality to decide if it is going back but I wanted to let those who might consider it know. I do like that jewelry tray though so nobody buy it and I'll be able to get it on clearance.

DeleteI love this question. Actually, upon receiving the latest style guide, I was kind of irked that there were travel mugs and plates on my pages. Meanwhile, can a sister find a cute belt?! J. Crew knick knack gifts should be along the lines of jewels, socks, slippers and accessories. Leave the home goods to well, HomeGoods.

They're way overpriced w/o them being on a big markdown plus % off. Of course, lately that's the way I feel about most of their things....
