Although now I'm annoyed at the SA who said the henley I bought for my fiance earlier this week was not part of the 25% off promo that has been happening this week (I thought all tops were eligible for this after checking out JCA, but it turns out it doesn't apply to "knits" for men...WTF?). So now I'm going to have to go back to the store AGAIN tomorrow to get my price adjustment. The time and travel probably costs more than that, huh? Sigh.

ReplyDeleteI am in desperate need of new toothpick cords. I was thinking of ordering some with this promo, but they are still so pricey. So, in comes Target...
I had to go there anyway to get tissues and other groceries, so I went to see if they had any skinny cords. Lo and behold, the Mossimo Juniors Skinny Corduroy Pants. Juniors, I know, ick. BUT, they are surprisingly awesome. I needed a 9 (7 fit but looked a little too painted on) and I am a 29 in toothpicks at J.Crew, for reference.
The material is nice and thick, but not too, and the fit is great due to the amount of stretch. I actually think these are more flattering and forgiving than the J.Crew toothpick cords.
They are pretty low rise, so if you don't like that they probably won't work for you. I'd say slightly lower than J.Crew's city fit.
Best part is they are on sale for $20 right now, and then if you buy online, 25% off if you buy three or more women's clothing items. No code needed. And free shipping over $49.
In store they had a camel color that I don't see online. You could always try them on in store and order online, which is what I did.
I am also trying their navy ponte pants because I refuse to pay the J.Crew price for pixies that I really don't need in the first place :)

I did feel the fabric in the store, and it was about the same as the fabric in the JC navy pixies. Is it just me, or are the JC black ones thicker than the navy ones? My navy pair annoyingly stretch out and look like hell at the end of the day. Never had that problem with any of my black ones.
Deletecuckoo, exactly, I wouldn't say Target is my go-to for clothes, but once in a while they do something great. It's worth it to shop around to other stores than J.Crew and the other usual suspects. I'm wearing the Target cords today and they are just perfection. I feel like a tall, slim model, instead of a sausage like I sometimes do in my JC toothpicks :)
I'm looking for the beanstalk stripe ruffle top in a 0 or 2 and the trompe l'oeil tippi grey in xs in store!! If anyone sees these will you let me know!

DeleteI was hoping to pick up the silk ruffle top in ivory, but they are sold out in size 6 online - will keep checking back regularly. Have it in green size 4 (here) but the shoulders are a little snug, yet it is still wearable (which is more a comment about me purchasing the wrong size - not the sizing of the top).

I had been eyeing it for a while, but finally bit the bullet last night. I feel dumb for having waited because 1) now it's final sale, and 2) there were better promos in July and August, e.g. 30 or 40% off -- I'm sure it was available much cheaper then. Oh well! Still excited to receive it...
I used to have the Biennial medium satchel in vivid jade, so I can't speak to the color of yours, but as to the bag in general, it is very nice w/ lots of compartments, but I found that it got heavy easily. I ended up selling mine on eBay after using it for a couple months. If you can deal with a heavy bag, it is excellent. Leather quality is great, having handles in addition to the long strap is also very practical!

DeleteThis sale worked out just perfectly for me, I just decided to buy a 1035 suit last week, and got it with the 25% off today, so happy! I'm also contemplating going for the Long Field Jacket - it's doubtful I'll be able to score it at a better price, plus the weather to wear it is now. It is spendy, though, for a jacket that I will only be able to wear for 1 month in the fall and probably 1 month in the spring. I'll probably end up going for it as I find it perfect.
