This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale
items at our
various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If
you are stopped
by a J.Crew store this past weekend
to see what's available (if
anything!) in the SUMMER sale, or to see some new FALL arrivals
{sigh!} in person, maybe you
might be willing to
share that with us in this post. In
particular, if you could share
with us a few of the noteworthy items
that are available, at what
prices, and potential sizes the
store is carrying (as well as the
store location)- that would be
fantastic!
Also, please
let us know if your local store
was/ is carrying an additional
percent off sale. Thanks in
advance!!! :)
HELLO30 has been updated to free shipping on all orders!
ReplyDeleteFactory also has free shipping with code LABORDAY
ReplyDeleteI ordered the Merino Tippi in French Knot in ivory over the red phone. My store doesn't have it, and I wanted some type of sale price on it, so I used my student discount.
ReplyDeleteHello JCAs! There are a lot of new markdowns today, and a few new promo-priced items, too. I've noted them in this post on my blog. Enjoy your day everyone! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's a miracle for me! I did not step foot in a J. Crew store this weekend nor do I intend to today. I won't buy full price and the sales sections at my J. Crew stores are picked over, and nothing I want on sale online. I did buy a few items during FALLSTYLE that will be delivered tomorrow: the Martinas in brushed gold and a cream and black ruffle collar top (not online yet but reviewed by Audrey on Life is Short, Buy the Shoes...). I did put in an order at Factory for the skinny utility pants with the LABORDAY free ship promo. I am thinking about buying some Tory Burch riding boots with the promo going on right now (20% to 30% off depending on how much you spend), but surprisingly not much Labor Day weekend sales shopping for me.
ReplyDeleteForgot to mention that thanks to another JCA who posted that she returned the Rose Bloom necklace in the red/ coral color, I was able to call the store and do a charge send before they sold the necklace! I had been hunting down that necklace. Shout out to the JCA community!
DeleteDear JCA's
ReplyDeleteThank you for all the help over the past few years of my shopping J crew.
I have pretty much given up ( as of today...doubt if I will change my mined this time) on J crew.
I was not given a simple price adj. today and after a e-mail sent was I WAS phoned at home (by Ashley)and given the adj.
I am frustrated by calls to CS for adj. I am appalled at the look of my peony linen shirt after two wears and other items in the same style (only different color)are all over the map in size . I can not even think about final sale items...wasted way too money.
The higher prices for Canadians and higher prices generally across the board only to be deeply discounted later has me spending too umch time with J Crew ( you know in the mornings when those sales and popobcks happen) I have given up. I believe I am done.
Ashley was very pleasant on the tele.
If it had not been for JCA's my experiences would have been much worse...probably my biggest fault is I now know more about J Crew merch. and prices than staff of J Crew.
Thanks again for all the help...and I may lurk from time to time just to see how all of your are doing. Carolyn from Vancouver
I stopped in the Crewlet (and a couple of other outlet stores) on Saturday, not much doing at the Crewlet, I even got to park right in from of the store at 11:20!
ReplyDeleteThe rest of the report is here.
I stopped in. Jeans and cords were 25% off today, sale 30% off. Gigi is so right about the Crepe Cap-Sleeve Dress. I ordered the Bristol Blue version, which didn't arrive yet, but I tried on the Cerise version in store and liked it so much I bought it too. I did go up a size, but that's my own fault ;) It hits right at or above the knee (I'm short so probably above the knee for most), but it's not too short. The pockets are great. It's not short-waisted. Finally a good dress! Thanks Gigi for mentioning it or I might not have tried it on. I tried on the Gwen dress in colorblock and it fit so well, I really loved it, but I didn't buy it because I have no place to wear it. I also tried on the Keyhole dress in square-knot. For anyone who is thinking about it but can't see it in person, the army green background is the dominant color, not the blue. I liked this but the keyhole was too deep on me, same for the keyhole top. I changed my tune about a couple of sweaters I had previously tried on and not liked on me. I went up a size in the Merino Tippi Baseball sweater and down a size in the Two-Tone Zip Cardigan, then I liked both of them.
ReplyDeleteI stepped in because I was itching to use my $35.00 rewards card before the expiration date. Not much going on in my local B&M J. Crew, but I took a look at the sale items. Pretty decent amount of sale items at 30% off. Tippi Sweaters, lots of shoes...and then I spotted it. The Sloane dress. I saw it in the style guide a few months ago--I doubted very much that any size 8's would be left. Anyway, I looked through the rack--size 0; 00; 2; just as when I was about to give up--I found my size 8. Perfect fit. Final price: $30.99. How could I go wrong!!! Very happy!
ReplyDeleteTypo. I had a $25.00 reward card!
DeleteIt's a rare occasion, but I saw a couple of tops that were priced cheaper online than in-store. In many cases, the prices online & the b&m are very similar. For now, anyway.
ReplyDeleteCheck out the In-Store Price Guide. The most current dates in red.
My VPS found the Schoolboy Velvet in Dusty Lavender for me. Can't wait till it gets here. It looks so pretty in the pictures. Hope it lives up to my high (for monetary reasons) expectations.
ReplyDeleteI've spent my Labor Day weekend laboring for work, so I didn't get a chance to stop by the store. I however, got several items via mail, including the No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Colorblock Houndstooth Wool (05131), which is featured on the model on this page and comes out this Wednesday I believe, in a small new arrivals update.
ReplyDeleteI love it. It is about the same weight as a double serge skirt and the pattern contrast is a refreshing way to see colorblock. Finally, it has pockets! Sorry, I get excited about practical things like pockets:-) The skirt runs in up to a size 16 and is $148.
Oooo...how did I miss this houndstooth pencil skirt? Love it!
ReplyDeleteFinal hours for HELLO30. Remember free ship, no minimum!
ReplyDeleteShop final sale with the Irl Pic Guide.
It's up! EXTRAS gets 25% off shoes, boots & bags thru Sun, 9/8.
ReplyDeletedarn, you beat me! :-p
DeleteDoesn't seem to work on the calf hair vivs. Must be a collection excluded item. :-(
DeleteNew promo is 25% off boots, shoes and bags with EXTRAS

DeleteSince there is always free shipping when you order a full priced item with a VPS I did not bit at all on this promo. I hate final sale...and the only thing I want is one accessory that I am not willing to pay full price for..........
ReplyDeleteI went to my local store on Saturday and bought the tile tippi (which I thought was incredibly cute on -- no shoulder issues with me, but I do have very narrow shoulders) and the trompe l'oiel tippi in the gray colorway. I had a $150 rewards card, and with school starting (I'm a teacher) I didn't have time to stalk the site or worry about buying something before the rewards expired.
ReplyDeleteOf course on Monday the tile tippi was reduced from $118 to $62.99, so I called and got a price adjustment, and then I had enough left on my rewards card to order two mixed tape cardigans from the Monday sale.
As far as sales sections go -- the Fashion Place/Draper store doesn't have much. I think they must have cleaned out all their old stock and sent it back to the online company.
I purchased the Silk Ruffle Top in both neon amethyst and ivory; once I tried it on I realized it would be a great layering piece for my conservative office. I wish the olive color was still available online. It was $79.99 in-store, $10 cheaper than online. The silk is thick and rich, but lined in poly, so this was a much more appropriate price point than the original $110. I'm busty but found that my usual 8 fit fine across the chest, but a little wide across the shoulders (I have average shoulders). The armholes were perfect (I found the sleeves of the Silk Bib Top in Colorblock to be very small).
