"Thanks!" to many of you, who let us know that J.Crew had an update to its website (click here to view online).
There are some new arrivals for men (click here) & women (click here). {wahoo!} It looks like Crewcuts (click here) has been updated, but not the J.Crew Collection (click here).
I did not think there was an update to the website until I got J.Crew's
email this morning announcing that there are 35 new
arrivals on the website.
What items are you most excited
about and why? Which items are you surprised (or not surprised) to
see? Which items did you hope would be included? Were you
expecting a bigger roll-out today? Also, did you receive the
latest catalog? :)
The only things I'm adding to my wishlist are the tippi baseball sweater, the tippi in french dot, and the schoolboy in burnished rust. I wouldn't pay full price for any of them though.
ReplyDeleteI am curious to see how the Andie chino in Tall will fit. They look like they will be a nice ankle length pant. I do wish they offered black!
ReplyDeleteI'm intrigued by the quilted bags. I think the execution is much better in the Brompton quilted bag (03275) than the Edie (03271).
ReplyDeleteI also like the tippi baseball sweater with the removable collar (04279) -- at first i thought that was too many fashion trends combined, but I really like it and the price point doesn't make me cringe (too much).
Ditto for the tippi sweater in french knot (03178).
I am seriously considering the black denim jacket (03097). I'm not sure if I missed this before, but if the color is as saturated as it looks, I may not be able to resist.
Well, I was going to use my rewards card on a new pair of Minnies or Pixies, but I nixed that idea as soon as I saw the Keyhole Dress in Windsor Violet. I've been looking for another work-appropriate dress that will transition from summer into Fall (what little Fall there is in GA), and this dress looks perfect. Will report back when it arrives.
ReplyDeleteAlso, for anyone curious about the horse-print shirt that is peeking out from underneath the new Schoolboy Blazer in English Tweed, it is the Horsing Around Sweatershirt, item #04324, expected to be up on the website in late August and priced at $65.00 (currently subject to change). It will be offered in Navy and Heather Grey. I'm a total sucker for horse prints so I'll probably do a pre-order tonight after I get home!
Oh I saw that horsey sweater and went on the hunt for it! Can't wait to see what it looks like! I don't go for the animal motifs and have passed them all....but I like the looks of this sweater. Thanks for the heads up on it!
DeleteLots of new things added to sale today, too! But I wish we had a 30 percent or 40 percent off final sale coupon. I want some of the skirts that were added to sale - the pineapple one! - but a discount would be nice.
ReplyDeleteI am with Roxana - see that some of the kikis just went on promo and would love to pick them up! I would also love a full price site-wide promo...
ReplyDeleteI like the quilted tack jacket and it's good to see it in petites. The new notepads are cute, too. I like the silk ruffle top and some of the earrings. Thumbs up on the crepe cap sleeve dress. I think the cut is improved over many other reent dress offerings. Will put up a review this week, I hope.
ReplyDeleteI reviewed a new quilted invitation clutch that's not online at the moment. And if you're shopping the knits/tees promo that ends today, I reviewed the jeweled short-sleeve sweatshirt.
Hi JCAs! As I mentioned earlier in a previous thread, along with the new arrivals online this morning, there are a lot of new promo-priced items & markdowns. I have them noted in this post on my blog. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm interested in the Eaton wool pant. But it says it's even slimmer than the cafe capri! GEEZ! So I'm sure I'll be sizing up on that one. What's the deal with all the slimmer cuts? I saw the silk tonal paisley dress yesterday at my B&M. The sales gals said it is obscenely short. Shorter than JC's normal short for dresses. No surprise. I like the quilted tack jacket in the maple color, but will need to try it on at the store. As well as the tortoise gold link bracelet. Can't wait until new things hit the store!
ReplyDeleteThat's disappointing about the length of the paisley dress. I love the pattern and shape, but why does it have to be so short?
Deletedo you think the bracelet is a stretch or clasp closure type ?
DeleteThe tack jacket looks short as well. will be curious to read reviews.
DeleteI just see a trend to slimmer, shorter and smaller cuts. I might just become too big and tall for the Crew! It makes me kinda mad...it's not like I'm overly tall or overweight. I'm just normal! Anyway....I won't buy that bracelet if it's on stretch string. I know the tack looks short....I'm just going to wait and see. I was talking with the sales gals yesterday and they echo every one of the concerns and gripes we talk about here. Skirts and dresses too short, fabrics too thin, pants too low cut and too short, jewelry too gaudy...and the list goes on. Gosh I hope there will be at least a few things I can wear from the upcoming fall/winter collections!
DeleteSunny, Rose reviewed the tack jacket here.
Delete(I hope it's okay that I linked, Rose - I haven't linked to anybody but the JC site before!)
silver_lining - Bloggers love link love!
DeleteUGH...the tack jacket looks too boxy for me. Glad I got the quilted longer jacket from a couple years ago. If they brought it back in other colors (I have the olivey green) I'd be interested. It's a favorite of mine and women always ask me where I bought it.
DeleteStray Cat, I have that jacket too (expedition?) and love it. Was hoping the tack jacket was a new version of the old favorite, but it looks way too short and square for my liking.
DeleteI'm loving some of the new sweaters that were put up, including the Drapey Raglan Sweatshirt, Tippi baseball sweater, and Tippi in French Knot. I'm also in love with the new Liberty ruffled popover. I'm hoping for a promotion to get some of these things, but I can dream (and hope things don't run out).
ReplyDeleteI like the look of the Ruffled Rhinestone top. I have been waiting for the Tilda to go on sale and it has not, this maybe a good transition piece into Fall. But of course, not at FP, so bring on a promo J Crew.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite of the bunch is the Merino Tippi baseball sweater. I also like the Acropolis blue plaid flannel shirt, but I don't really need another plaid shirt and the raglan sweatshirt is cute, but not sure I'm digging the fabric content.
ReplyDeleteAnd is it true...an actual A-line skirt? Yes, it is! But it is a collection piece. Ugh. I just want a plain A-line skirt to wear to work. Is that too much to ask for? Sorry for the rant. :)I hope the Sterling Skirt makes another appearance this year in some new colors at least.
I am with you! Please just a regular A-line skirt in regular colors - black, gray, maybe pinstripe (not navy and pink).
DeleteOh yes Please! Bring back the original Sterling skirt! I want it in hunter green, burgundy, tweed, plaid....nice wearable NON trendy fabrics. I'd take it in navy too!
DeleteI'm happy to see the A line skirt in the collection line. I'm tired of cheaply made clothes. I'm willing to pay more for higher quality, thoughtfully designed, modern basics.
DeleteThe pink is a no go for me, so I ordered the navy. But navy is a color I struggle with as far as styling. So, we'll see......
OT. Returning a pair of punk floral trousers in a size 6 to the Troy, MI store today. Still FP, I think, but beautiful and hard to find.
ReplyDeleteHerringbone puffer vest is now available in jcrew factory stores. I called three of the factory stores by me and all three had them. Apparently they are flying off the shelves. Call ahead to have one put on hold.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip!
DeleteAlso saying thanks for the tip -- got mine today.
DeleteI glanced at the site last night and thought I was seeing things in the Shirts & Tops section. I guess I was not, after all.
ReplyDeleteSome reviews here.
The Tippi in French Dot has definitely been added to my wishlist!
ReplyDeleteWho is their customer? Way too many short lengths and juvenile prints. The Tippi in French Dot is nice, but overall I'm getting a little worried for fall.
ReplyDelete11 year old girls with large allowances.
DeleteYou know what's scary? I have 11 year old twins for whom some of JC's (women's!) dresses look like good bets. We have a family wedding coming up and the scalloped dress looks just about right. My girls aren't quite ready for darts but the length and the styling of some of the dresses is perfect for them.
DeleteMany of the regulars have probably noticed I haven't been around JCA much lately. I've almost given up on JC due to the short length issues and have sucked it up, paid more and started buying semi-custom dresses on the internet.
DeleteCass, I'd love to hear about where you are getting the dresses!
DeleteHere are 2 options:

Whitney, thank you for mentioning the horse-print sweater! I never would have noticed it otherwise. I love clothing that features animals, particularly horses! I am going to try to preorder it too. This is why J. Crew Aficionada is so awesome!
ReplyDeleteLet us know if you are able to pre-order the sweater. It is really cute!
Deletei was able to preorder it in both colors, each at $65. According to the SA, they are "backordered" until September 22, but will ship within 2-3 business days after that. Hope that helps! -masha
DeleteIt does help! Will be ordering the navy color version later today! :) Thank you!
DeleteI don't know if this is new, but I'm delighted to see so many more styles available in tall! I wish it was everything of course but I'll take what I can get. I wish J.Crew would open a tall boutique in NYC!
ReplyDeleteSHOPNOW for 30% off knits/tees ends tonite. I reviewed the lace-front sweatshirt in this post.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually not terribly excited by anything in this new rollout, I liked much more in the one before that and have a couple things in my wish list, just waiting for a promo.
ReplyDeleteI find the embellishment and beading on so many of the items to be a little much.
ReplyDeleteAnd the jewelry is very, um, busy. I'm not looking for classic (I'm not a pearls kind of gal) but it is revealing that JC keeps using the term "mash-up" in the jewelry descriptions.
I feel like the bling has been too over-the-top the last year or so, in the jewelry and on the clothing. That said, I bought the beaded chambray so I am contributing to the madness, but I think that's the only bling-y thing I have.
DeleteI think a lot of that crazy jewelry is way too overwhelming on someone my size (5'4"). Also, I'm broad shouldered and such huge necklaces just aren't flattering in that regard either. The scale is just all wrong on me.
DeleteRegarding the Bounce Card . . . just back from the Rockefeller Center store. Bought a couple things (more in a moment).
ReplyDeleteI specifically asked if they still had any Bounce Back Cards (after chatting with one of the salespeople about his life). He opened a drawer and there was a whole stack. Let me clarify. He had three stacks. Hundreds, I would say. He gave me one.
I wonder if perhaps the cards are coming out later in the month, close to the date of use--September 9? AT any rate, I do encourage you to ask if the card is available.
As for what I got--the Beanstalk Blouse, which is on promo. I used my Rewards Card. And then, like a total sucker, I got the Andie Chinos in Tuxedo Stripe. I don't need more casual pants but . . these are so cute.
I also finally tried on the Minnies, after reading about them here. And . . . they fit! So, that means I can now wear three kinds of JCrew pants: Toothpicks, Andies and Minnies. I'm very curious about that Eaton Pant (or whatever it's called). It was not in the store, and so I couldn't try it on. maybe if there is another Free Shipping Promo, I will order it and try.
Has anyone seen or tried on the nylon bomber jacket?
ReplyDeleteIf I had money to spare...I would order the new arrival paisley silk dress and wear it as a nice cover-up at the pool ( while on holiday of coarse. ) It does look like tunic/cover up length.
ReplyDeleteOn the back of my Bounce Back card it states the card is valid from August 9th to September 15th.
ReplyDeleteI will probably be the only person who is not a fan of the Andie Chinos. I was so excited for them because everyone loved them and my VPS said she wanted them in every color. But I have to say, when you put on a pair of pants, you just know if you are totally rocking them or not. I didn't like how low and thick the waistband was, it accentuated my hips and wasn't flattering. I also didn't like how baggy they were below the knee. I am a fan of the toothpick fit and was hoping these would be similar, but they cut me off and made me look stumpy.
ReplyDeleteBack they go.
So far, not terribly excited by much from this rollout either. However, I do like the scallop mini skirt (I am 5'2 so the length is not an issue for me), Merino Tippi in French Dot, the Ruffled Rhinestone top in Navy, and the Acropolis Blue Paid Flannel shirt. Not really going to rush out and buy anything full price though. If a promo shows up, I am more likely to spend some money. A lot of these items feel like repeats. On a side note, the Antiqued Floral tee is much nicer in person. The print looks a bit faded on my monitor, and it is brighter. I bought a couple of weeks ago at my store and I love it! Looks great with the schoolboy blazer in black. The promo running till tonight makes it a much better price!
ReplyDeleteOT; tried on the herringbone vest that is now available at the factory store and was disappointed. The digital print just wasn't to my liking or preference; if anything, I'd prefer the solid color vests.
ReplyDeleteI also tried and Andies and like them. I ordered a 6 in olive from the store, b/c they only had the khaki color and I wanted to see it in the exact color/size I want. But as for the fit, I think they fit wayyyy better than those horrible Scout Chinos. I'm short-waisted and not very curvy and the waist still sits a bit lower than I'd like, but it's a much better fit on me and I do think they're cute and flattering. I wonder if the olive color will ever make it to a sale price?
ReplyDeleteI am excited to see the Oversize Boyfriend Merino Sweater with Pockets available again this fall! I have a gray one from last year and wore it ALL THE TIME. I plan on getting another one. Great sweater.
ReplyDeleteI saw that sweater too. Is it really oversized? I'm 5'2, should I size down?
DeleteYes, I would. I am usually a medium in jcrew tops/sweaters, etc. and this sweater I order a small. :)
DeleteThank you!
DeleteI preordered the Eaton trouser in heather grey. It's pictured on the site but not available in that color. My personal shopper told me they come out August 21, and the wool is very similar to super 120s. I asked her if I should size down because of the description that they are slimmer than café capris and she said no. I'll report back when they arrive!
