I can't pull the sale items up on the website yet but knowing jcrew, summer layers probably means cashmere sweaters and wool scarves! :)

DeleteIt's been so hot and humid in the NE (and 90's forecasted every day next week) I can barely bring myself to wear anything beyond a baggy tee and sleep shorts. I'm certainly not wearing cashmere!

ReplyDeleteI wont be visiting JCrew, but I think I just spotted the Liberty collar striped merino sweater on a Geico commercial. Its always fun to recognize pieces on tv or in public. :)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely not going, I was just there. For not being a fan of their stuff lately, I am surprised to keep finding things in the sale section. Mostly it's been staples and not the trendier stuff, though.

I made a return yesterday. What a ghost town. I was the only person in the store. The window dresser had to stop dressing a mannequin to help me! I went over to Banana Republic and took advantage of their offer of 45% my total sale on three full priced items. And because the Crew won't make cute summer dresses that I can wear, I stopped in to JC Penneys. Tons of dresses. I bought a darling sleeveless cotton sheath with front slit pockets in a spring green and white floral. Fit me perfectly and comes to just a bit above my knee. The brand is American Living. Full price $55.00. Not lined, but the fabric is substantial and the dress is quite well made. I'm going to stop in again this weekend and spend some more time going through the dresses.
ReplyDeleteJust popped into Michigan Avenue store - it was hopping! Picked up the tortoise flower necklace and a gold link bracelet (not sure what it's really called but it is on the smaller side). The sale section seemed enormous, so if you are looking for something, I would suggest trying this store. As usual, lots of sale jewelry. The case is in front so it gets missed by many. Did not ask how long the 40% off is running.

ReplyDeleteThere is only one J Crew in downtown Chicago, located at 900 North Michigan Avenue. It's a good sized store with shoes, handbags, case jewelry and some Collection. No Crewcuts. The store is in the same vertical mall as Bloomingdales (newly remodeled, looks great). If you like cupcakes, there is a Sprinkles Cupcakes across the street on Walton. Mega pricey shopping two streets over on Oak Street. Great people watching, too!

DeleteJust got back from the Tampa store a little while ago. It seemed as if almost the entire store was on sale with an extra 40% off. There seemed to be a lot of size 10's and 4's on the racks, so if you are looking for something in that size it is probably worth a call. I did notice 2 blue tartine satchels near the dressing rooms if you're looking for one. They were $229.99 plus 40% off.

ReplyDeleteSadly no size 10 at my store and the last price I saw was $99. I would be interested in the location of a tresco liberty perfect shirt in a size 6 as well if anyone sees it while looking for Melodie's size 10 :)
DeleteI haven't seen a 10, but I want to say the last price I saw is $69.99 (don't quote me--it's been a week or two). You can call a store (any store, if you don't have one nearby) and they should be able to quote you the price and find one for you. If the online chat feature is available, they will look up store inventory for you if you provide the item number, though they aren't able to see store prices. HTH!

ReplyDeleteKelly L-G - An email went out to save an addtl 50% off at factory with SPREE online. Or, if shopping in-store, show the email. If you mention it verbally at the store, they should apply it.
DeleteI believe the reason they are stating to show the email is because they only want one promo to be used at a time. So they will treat some promos (esp global i.e. 50% off everything) as needing a coupon. If they do that, then you can't use the factory outlet coupon of 10% off in combination. HTH
The other day I noticed signage for 30% off popovers and it was above this swim cover-up. I saw another sign for 30% off button up shirts.

Factory was 60% off sale today. There was a lot outside the normal sale section, including suiting. Lots of shoes as well. They still do not layer teacher discount, though the store is back to doing it now.
ReplyDeleteAt my store they also mentioned that new arrivals will be out on Thursday and handed out coupons for 20% storewide starting the 17th. I think it ends the 28th but can't remember.
