First and foremost... Happy Holidays everyone! It's the time of year where we can spend time with our loved ones, enjoy fantastic meals, and share thoughtful gifts!
Per
JCA tradition, this post is to find out what everyone is going to
wear. I find it really interesting to see what other Aficionadas and
Aficionados plan on wearing (and of course it gives me lots of
wonderful ideas for future outfits). :) So for this post, what we are planning to wear for the Holidays? :)
As
for me, I am tempted to wear a cozy pair of sweatpants and call it a day! ;)
What are you planning to wear this Holiday party season? Are you planning to go "head to toe" J.Crew or parts J.Crew?
I'm with you! A cozy pair of sweatpants sounds great! today I went out and got two sweaters from Banana Republic and three tops from Old Navy...now I just need either a skirt or tight toothpicks jeans from J.crew to be able to choose from. Oh and a sparkly necklace from J.Crew also!
ReplyDeleteI am impressed you went out shopping today! I hope it was not crazy, but a fun time. :)
DeleteMerry Christmas, Alexis!
ReplyDeleteI hear you when you are talking sweatpants. I was planning on wearing a pretty new skirt, but since the order has been cancelled on me, I am going with plan B. Not sure what that is yet, but am certain it will have about 50% J. Crew. Will post about it when I make up my mind. :)
Sorry to hear the order got canceled- that is terrible! Perhaps J.Crew could find the skirt in a store for you?
DeleteI'm a relatively new JCA but I specifically bought both of the polka dot sequin tees to wear for Christmas Eve & Christmas Day. I plan on pairing them with a button down underneath (totally copying the catalog!), a mini and boots. Love!
ReplyDeleteSarah- I purchased both of those tees too! The price is right and they are cute. :)
DeleteI agree Alexis! I couldn't pass them up for that sale price!!
DeleteI will likely be wearing my French bulldog sweater with an ivory sequin tank (Factory) as a layer underneath + waxed burgundy skinny ankle jeans from American Eagle. And loafers.
ReplyDeleteI have really been wearing this outfit too often as of late, but I love it. And I totally get at least 1 complement on the bulldog sweater EVERY TIME I wear it. It's pretty cool.
It will be a cooking intensive day, but I'll have to come up with something comfortable & cute. One of J Crew's silk, sleeveless camis, jewelry & jeans or cords will probably my best bet. Maybe the red Natasha with red bubble necklace.
ReplyDeleteGigi....wear a apron over that lovely silk cami when cooking..
DeleteGigi: I hope you take some time for yourself. I know how time consuming (and somewhat thankless) cooking can be. Bravo to you! :)
DeleteHi everyone! I'm a fairly new to J Crew and JCA, but am absolutely obsessed with both!
ReplyDeleteThis xmas I plan to wear the Jeweled Herringbone sweater with the City Mini in black and black tights with boots/flats. Throw in some Kate Spade bangles and a messy chignon and voila! Wearable and sparkly!
I will be wearing my black watch perfect shirt with the felted wool mini in black and black tights.
ReplyDeleteLots of armcandy to make the outfit sparkly and a pearl neclace to make the shirt feminine.
Ooh, I like this. I may do the same. Thanks!
DeleteIna, that sounds adorable!
DeleteThank you:)
DeleteI love the sound of this outfit!
DeleteMerry Christmas Alexis!
ReplyDeleteOver the next few days my factory plaid skimmer pants will get quite a workout! I am hosting a dinner with family tonight and I think it would be a red cashmere turtleck and plaid pants kind of day. Christmas Eve we tend to dress a little. I am thinking of digging out my old talbots satin capris, silver heels and the new chiffon top in pewter leopard which I just got this week and love or else my snowflake j crew t and a black cardi! Christmas Day will be casual and comfortable - fairisle leggings, festive tee and navy dreamy cardigan in navy with my uggs! Want to be as comfortable as can be!
Happy holidays ladies! I started following this blog this year and have learned so much from everyone. I've also had some laughs along the way. Everyone be safe!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Alexis and JCA's! For Christmas Eve I'll be wearing the Golden Bubbles pencil skirt, cashmere long sleeve tee in pine green, Etta sequin pumps in leopard, and the Fall Floral crystal bracelet. Christmas day I'm planning on the No. 2 pencil skirt in Metallic Floral, cashmere long sleeve tee in black, Mona Mary Janes in black suede, Pearl jewel box earrings, and Kate Spade Pearl bauble necklace. Have a wonderful holiday everyone!
ReplyDeleteMarietta, love both of your outfits!
DeleteThank you! :-)
DeleteFor family Skypes, I'll be wearing the factory rhinoceros tee - it's green, pale grey outline sketch of rhino, who is wearing vivid red appliquéd Santa hat.
ReplyDeletefrom the mouths of babes:
Teeny Glutton: what do rhinos do?
Me (dramatically): they charrrge!
Teeny: when they go shopping, right?
Merry Christmas to all!
That is too funny about "they go shopping, right" line!!!!
DeleteMerry Christmas everyone! I hope all have a wonderful holiday. For Christmas Eve I will keep it simple with my l-s cashmere tee in heather jungle from last year and matchstick jeans. I'm not decided on Christmas yet but it's easier to be more casual with my baby crawling all over me. :) I just bought the pave link bracelet so I should try to wear it.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas everyone! For Christmas Eve I'm planning to wear my new dublin tartan plaid city mini and the la Parisienne sweater with navy tights. Christmas day probably rocking some fleece PJ's in the AM and in the afternoon a pair of the Madewell skinny ankle green cords and the Sheepmeadow sweater.
ReplyDeleteMerry Xmas Everyone! Last night was my final "dress up" party. I wore: VC Signature black patent pumps, Dana Buchanan black/white tweed pants with a black tuxedo stripe down the side leg seam, garland J.Crew Tippi Sweater, LL Bean Pheasant print silk scarf, cream edge tipped black wool Crew Factory Blazer, gold Kors watch, puffed gold heart J. Crew bracelet, Crew crystal pave' bracelet, huge vintage enameled poinsetta pin on blazer and a pair of vintage Xmas earrings. My husband wore the cute red/black buffalo plaid tie I got on super markdown. We were the most festive couple at the gathering! For the rest of the holiday we'll be at our beach house, so it's jeans, J. Crew excursion vests, sweaters, raincoats, sweats....just relaxing and hanging out.
ReplyDeleteWe are at my ILs house, they are more solidly committed to a Mass schedule than we usually are, so we have church today and again tomorrow. I'm not sure how fancypants church is today so I'll either wear my red Minnies and a mint top or the black velvet dot ponte dress with a purple Jackie and purple tights.
ReplyDeleteTomorrow I'll wear the Factory Brocade Sheath dress with a faux fur white jacket and velvet peep toe heels, and my Kate Spade pave bow bracelet.
Christmas Day is for just hanging out around the house, so I'm not sure if/when we'll change out of our pajamas.
Wore my cream polka dot sequin top to a party last night over a white blouse, with jeans and calf hair Martinas. For Christmas Eve, pink Lolli pants and Boden jewel neck top and black Juliet heels. Merry Christmas!!
ReplyDeleteWore my Polka Dot sequin tee (black) over a white button down with Black Minnie's and Black Cece flats for a house party I hosted last night. Christmas Day night will probably be Red Cashmere LS Tee with my Heather Acorn sterling skirt...after a day of PJ's!
ReplyDeleteWishing Everyone a Happy Holiday!
Happy Holidays everyone!!! For Christmas Eve I am planning on wearing my plaid factory skimmers and either the dark poppy tippi or the factory bow sweater. For Christmas Day I am going to wear my Dublin city mini and the cashmere cable sweater. Both outfits will have lots of j.crew jewels added as well! Safe holidays everyone!
ReplyDeleteLike WMM, I will be giving my Factory tartan skimmer pants a workout! Xmas Eve day I'll wear them with a red cashmere tee and red Kate Spade tuxedo pumps, then for the evening I'll switch the sweater for my Loft evergreen paillette tee. Speaking of sweats, I have a great pair of vintage Ellen Tracy palazzo pants in evergreen stretchy velvet, and they're just as comfy as sweats, so those with the sparkle tee are the brunch/present opening outfit. Will get out the plaid pants and my dark green Tippi for Xmas night. Happy holidays, everyone!
ReplyDeleteEveryone is wearing such wonderful outfits! I am starting to think I should get a bit more dressed up... ;)
ReplyDeleteHappy holidays again everyone!!! :)
We will be home Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with no guest so I am thinking pj's for all both days. Lol
ReplyDeleteMe too! We had guests all last week and am looking forward to sweats. One set will be an older purple JCrew one.
DeleteI am trying to decide between two outfits to wear for Christmas dinner. The first is the Heart Sweater in Navy/Green from fall 2011 paired with a Collection Capri in Jade Jacquard and J.Crew patent grey flats from seasons ago...or...
ReplyDeleteThe Boy Shirt in Grey Tartan paired with No.2 Wool Pencil Skirt in White, black tights and black J.Crew pointy heels with 4 straps from fall 2011.
I'm leaning towards the sweater/pant combo because it feels so much comfortable..
Happy Holidays Alexis and to all the wonderful JCAs! Even though this fall season didn't wow us as much, it was great for J.Crew to offer us all the promos! I enjoyed reading everyone's reviews, sale updates, sharing promo codes and feedbacks from your shopping experiences. I am looking forward to a new season and a new year!
OT - Has anyone receive the new catalog? I saw the cover when someone posted it on Instagram #jcrew. It's cute. On the background are colorful hot air balloons with the model in red framed sunnies, stripe horizontal blouse and reddish color skirt.
also I saw a few posts from J.Crew's instagram and their favorite model - Mona, post a photo from their location at St. Barth's...can't wait to see that style guide.
Let's hope J.Crew's Spring 2013 will be fun.
For Christmas Eve I am wearing the dublin City mini, navy tippi, navy dot tights (if necessary) with the bow necklace and navy revas. On Christmas Day I am wearing the tartan button down, red minnies, and Swiss Dot tippi!
ReplyDeleteI'll be wearing the Supperclub dress (2010?) tomorrow night with a 2009 Thomas Mason tuxedo shirt underneath, our Christmas Eve is very dressy with hubs family and I will not be cooking, yay for that.
ReplyDeleteChristmas Day is just us, I think it will be the fair isle merino legging from last year with the camel cashmere cable sweater dress, also last year.
Alexis thanks for doing these posts, I always love to read about what everyone is wearing.
Merry Christmas JCA's!!
On Christmas I will be wearing the italian paisley Jules over a camel tissue turteneck w/ black pixie pants. For tomorrow, not sure. I will be in the car most of the day!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a really cute outfit, JCJD! Have fun!
DeleteMy christmas eve outfit : jcrew red taffeta skirt (2011) , jeweled collar black merino tee (Ann Taylor), black tights, black ankle boots, jcrew black and rhinestones bracelet. Dior Hypnotic Poison perfume. Picture on Instagram @diana_chantal
ReplyDeleteFor Christmas eve dinner & mass tomorrow I will be wearing the Jeweled Petal Sweater (my only purchase this fall), last year's heather acorn sterling skirt, brown herringbone tights & Macalister shearling booties. Christmas day will find me lounging in plaid flannel PJs & last year's heather indigo cashmere getaway hoodie. Wishing all JCAs a wonderful holiday filled with love, laughter, food and Jcrew gift cards.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to someone: gray wool bella, size 10, BIN $39.99, ebay #160943238509. Not my auction.
ReplyDeleteChristmas Day (casual lunch at friends): toothpick cords in ribbon bow print and navy cashmere turtleneck or henley plus golden link necklace. For Xmas Eve since it will be just us at home I am probably going to wear Joe Fresh velvet black leggings and the snow gem beaded tee.
ReplyDeleteMerry Xmas everyone!
Here are my three holiday outfits, http://everydaymusingsetm.blogspot.com/2012/12/holiday-attire.html. Happy Holidays!
ReplyDeleteChristmas Eve mass ill be wearing Jcrew herringbone cuffed trousers from 2011, Joie Eleanor cream silk top and Jcrew Martina sued wedges in black. Channeling the bow collar necklace that I just did a charge send for so will be wearing pearls instead. Christmas Day- Jcrew vintage PJ of course to see what Santa brought the kiddos! Merry Christmas everyone!
ReplyDeleteLove to read what everyone will be wearing...only thing better would be to have pictures of everyone dressed in their holiday clothing. :) Think I will be wearing the brilliant flame Blythe blouse with black Pixie Jodhpur pants...leopard pumps and lots of pearls. Merry Christmas! :)
ReplyDeleteI've been coveting the black Pixie Jodhpur pants! Do you love them?
DeleteHello Leah! Yes, yes, yes!!! My favorite new pants to wear...great style and comfort, too! :)
DeleteThanks, A Sister Thing! You're inspiring me to try them. :) Happy holidays!
DeleteThose pants are on my list too! I saw them in store, and the leather is very nice.
DeleteI plan to celebrate in Saturday pants. If we end up going anywhere on Christmas day I'll probably throw on my Sequin Stripe tee and red J.Brand skinny jeans. I hope everyone has a happy Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThe holiday poem cycle has begun.
ReplyDeleteLooks like J Crew has been gifted with some seriously bad press via the New York Times! Anyone else have the sort of problems with author here is complaining about?
ReplyDeletehttp://www.nytimes.com/2012/12/24/opinion/the-hell-of-online-shopping.html
Ouch! To be fair, Bloomingdale's did this to me by forgetting to gift wrap even tho I paid for it, blah blah. It happens. The writer should have been more vigilant about reading emails, as she confessed. This seems more like a typical "bitching" session better left amongst friends over the phone who have nothing better to do with their time, than an editorial in the NY Times. Boring, in other words, to read.
DeleteI ordered many gifts online this year, with plenty of time to spare. I had a couple of wrong things sent to me (not from J. Crew, they've done pretty well for me recently), but since I had them sent to me rather than the recipient, and plenty early, I had time to sort it out, get things re-sent to me, wrapped by me and mailed by me. I guess the author can blame J. Crew etc, they all make mistakes, but she outsourced what she concluded should have been a more personal process to begin with. I have something go wrong lots of times when ordering online, from toy sites to Amazon to Sephora to Amazon, it's definitely not unique to J. Crew.
DeleteI had a similar response. I feel like the point she was trying to make was that a personal touch goes along the way, but it kind of got lost amongst the (very public) bitchfest about the company to whom she outsourced her gifting. And honestly, JC has only ever sent me a wrong item 2 or 3 times, and they always corrected the mistake ASAP.
DeleteSending some warm holiday wishes to all those poor CS reps on duty in the call center, who are probably going to be spending the day dealing with this article x100 as erroneous gifts start to get unwrapped!
Sorry if this has been asked and answered already, but was there no J.Crew holiday party in New York this year? I certainly didn't receive an invitation, though I attend every year, nor did I receive their "holiday gift" that they sent out to their special customers. Bah humbug. This will most certainly affect my shopping in 2013.
ReplyDelete"radio silence" here as well, Dara!
DeleteMerry Christmas to those celebrating. I love hearing about your outfits.
ReplyDeleteOn behalf of the Jewish JCAs, I'll be wearing matchstick jeans, green and navy two tone tippi, navy gap t and Target tan suede booties (the ones FFM has raved about) when we go to a movie and Chinese food. ; )
Have a great holiday!
I hope you don't think I'm a horrid person, but I am downplaying this whole Christmas thing. I love the lights, the sparkle, the good cheer, but I just cannot get behind the commercialism. I, quite honestly, believe that retail markets and our society have blown the holiday season so way out of proportion. I want to reiterate that I don't feel that way about you folks here at JCA, it's directed more at the whole media/retail thing. The Holiday Season now is nothing like it was when I was young in the 1960s. I'm sorta sad about that, really.
ReplyDeleteTomorrow I'm wearing my pine green wool teddie dress, black lady day coat (circa 2005!} over it with black stockings and black suede ankle booties. Finished off with my beloved pearl necklace and matching pearl studs :) Merry Christmas all!
ReplyDeleteWore my factory tartan skimmers with a black vneck and white blouse yesterday. For Christmas day I'm wearing my green toothpick bow cords, a navy vneck sweater, green tessilate necklace and green ballet flats. Santa is very tired and it's time for all to go to bed!
ReplyDeleteAlexis thank you so much for creating this space, Merry Christmas to you and all of the wonderful JCA's I've come into contact with!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas JCAs! I hope you are all having a wonderful time celebrating with your family and friends! :)
ReplyDeleteLast evening I wore a red tartan plaid skirt, navy blue turtleneck, black suede knee boots, and a black pashmina wrap to the Christmas Eve service at church. Today I will be doing a lot of cooking for our family dinner and will be wearing a black Eileen Fisher jersey knit dress, black knee boots, and my apron.
