  1. I love their sample sales even though I sometimes find the items a little overpriced for what they are. Occasionally, you find brilliant pieces that never go into production (too expensive?) or in their better quality, prettier original design. I'm hoping that they will have one in NYC in November (I think they did last year?). I missed the one they had there for the summer because I was on vacation. Lynchburg is much too out of my way to even consider. :(

    1. The prices are normal higher when they bring the sample sales to other places. They take in to consideration that they have to rent out a place and ship everything there.

  2. Darn it, I am going to Lynchburg for work the next weekend! Was planning a stop at the warehouse...that's how I do my Christmas shopping.

  3. Of course it's this weekend when my friends and I are going there next weekend. Maybe it's better we avoid the big crowd but I hope we can still find some goodies.

  4. I went to the Asheville one back in August and found a few fall goodies. Does anyone know what will probably be at this sale?

  5. The Wyndhurst shop had a great selection on Wed - tons of cashmere cardigans. Milrace not so much. Likely saving everything for the weekend sale. Did get the cream Isabel sweater for $65. In perfect condition with tags.

  6. sorry for the long post but I went today to the sale and wanted to give info.

we got there around 10 and waited for about 30 minutes to get in. we spent about 5 hours inside. it was crazy. the shoes and the dresses were fairly well organized but everything else was chaos--swimsuits in the same boxes as winter coats and men's and women's and crewcuts all jumbled together.

I thought the best deals were on the shoes (they had a great selection in all sizes, 5-12, were restocking often, and the women working the section were so helpful) and the dresses (again the women in that section were doing a great job keeping the dresses hung up and organized by color). all of the dresses except for the wedding dresses were $20 (I got a FA12 long lucienne in navy for $20!). most of the non dressy clothes were tiny--I saw a lot of 00P and 00. the kids clothes were almost all 4-5, which must be the crewcuts sample size? I was hoping for jeans and skirts but saw almost none. it was pretty much just dresses and tops.

I thought some of the stuff was overpriced. leather boots and winter coats were $70 and I saw a lot of people try them on, check the price list, and then put them back (my guess is that if they had been $50 no one would have hesitated).

the workers all said that it was a pretty tame sale and that the lines are usually a lot longer. when we left, there wasn't even a wait to get in and there was still plenty of stuff left.

and if anyone ever needs a wedding dress? they must have had hundreds and they had more racks in the back waiting to pull out. they were beautiful and only $50 each.

  8. I didn't see a lot of men's stuff. my guess is that maybe 10% of the adult clothes were men's (although the kids' clothes were probably 60% boys to 40% girls). in terms of the way the tables were blocked off I think there were more crewcuts' tables then men's (and in fact one of the rows that said men's had mainly boxes of women's bathing suits). also, of the two factory stores in lynchburg only one of them carries men's clothes at all and it has maybe 1/3 of the stuff for men that it does for women.
