ReplyDeleteI picked up two more no. 2 pencil skirts, the tiered dot tank in white and navy, and the ella dress in medallion paisley. That said, I bought part of those today and am super mad at myself that I missed 40% off!
ReplyDeleteHave you noticed that the Matchstick Jeans in the classic rinse (dark blue) have 6% polyester? Well, they do.
ReplyDeleteI purchased Matchstick jeans in classic rinse this week. But trying them on at home, I realized they seem to feel different than my other matchstick jeans. So, I looked at the tag and saw (to my horror) that they were made of 93% cotton / 6% polyester / 1% spandex, Whereas my other matchstick jeans (white and starlight) have 98% cotton and 2% spandex or elastane.
What gives? I don't want all this polyester in my cotton jeans (I have a hard enought time with the 2% spandex). Polyester doesn't wear the same and makes me sweaty and uncomfortable. (any polyester tends to hold onto smells - yuck!)
Also, all the jeans have the same description on the website: cotton with a hint of stretch. But they are not made up of the same material. Polyester is NOT a "hint of stretch"
Anyway, I'm very frustrated. When did Jeans with polyester become acceptable?
LilyBart, the ankle stretch toothpicks have had polyester in them since I bought them back in 2010 or so. The website descriptions have referred to Turkish & Italian bi-stretch denim in the ankle stretch toothpicks. Both had poly in them. I haven't paid attention to the matchsticks fabrication, but I'm not surprised to hear that.
DeleteI got these matchstick last fall and HATE them. They don't wash well with time and have developed a sheen with a stiff drape that's like plasticky. I'm reading jeans labels now. Yuk.

ReplyDeleteWFF, you don't have a ritual to perform around these times? Pull up a pic of your cart that you grabbed in advance because you knew it would get dumped. Then wave your bug pin in front of the monitor. Pin it to your vintage t-shirt w/the little holes in it that appeared after one wear or one wash. Flip thru a Style Guide like you're shuffling cards. Readjust your No. 2 pencil skirt w/the ripped seam that longer sees the light of day, but you still wish to get a good cost/wear out of. Voila. The site is back up and you're ready to order.
