Crickets! Everyone's worn out from trying to find ram bracelets & necklaces. lol I visited 2 stores. I've been vacillating between which size to keep on the sovereign paisley pencil. I thought it was 6P, but I found a 4 to try again and that's the one. My indecisiveness paid off because it's now $49.99 in-store + the 30% off over the weekend.

One of the SA's at my b&m was wearing the white one and it looked so cute the way she had it styled. She was wearing a chunky turquoise choker necklace and knee high Frye type boots. So cute!!

Gigi, A cricket necklace would not be too far fetched... A few years ago jjcrew had a cute jeweled cricket pin: small antique gold with amber colored jewels. I picked it up for a song maybe $2 on final sale. Anyone remember it? Oh and happy late birthday! We all do appreciate what you do for us.

Looks like they have changed up their schedule. Who knows...maybe they will do something really different this year and give us a July 4th promo, too. :)

DeleteI found that both the tiered dot shell in navy and the perfect fit stripe cardigan in belvedere red were on sale online for $49.99 and $39.99, respectively. I found both in store and asked for and received the extra 30% off on each item (made them final sale, but I am fine with that). SA was a little reluctant to honor the additional discount (but she did) but they were very gracious about at least honoring the online sale price! Never hurts to ask. They had LOTS of the perfect fit stripe cardigan in both Austin stores and it is a great, light layering piece to wear with navy in summer air conditioning. Also picked up a pair of bright pink ballet flats for $69.99 less the 30%. Does anyone know if the 30% off sale in stores continues through the week?

ReplyDeleteI imagine the majority of JCAs made a trek out this weekend, or made calls to PS/WWFIFY! Crewlade was in full effect with all the crazy deals. I'm happy with the pieces I snagged, and even managed to have some self control. Some.
I made a couple small purchases via email/phone this weekend, but like others, am trying to exercise a little restraint now. Every time I'm tempted to buy some cheap sale thing I don't really need, I just imagine a few amazing double serge wool no. 2 pencil skirts that I totally have to have. Fall is my favorite season for clothes!
ReplyDeleteI went to two of the stores I shop at. One was pretty picked over. Lots of tees, shorts, they did have shoes left (but my size was gone...I think I got the only 10 there), and all the sale jewelry was gone. I think the SA's like the jools and get them on sale. My other store had LOTS of shorts, a few pencil skirts left, quite a few sequin anchor tops (I got mine at this store). I did snag the cream anchor bracelet, a navy/orange paisley scarf, a navy/paisley makeup bag and a cheetah little magic wallet. All for around $60.00. I waiting for those crazy kaleidoscope pants to go on sale!

-modern red linen perfect shirt for $34.00
From my 30% off parcel I kept the amie maxi dress (gauzy one) in navy ...sized down in this one. The navy merino cardi (thanks Shopping with M) for the rec. I also kept the Barton Trousers $84.00 as despite the pleats they drape very nicely and fit well..can be dressed up or more casually IMO. Really nice dark navy color.
All the stores had pretty much what everyone else here has been seeing...SA's at all stores were helpful and very nice ...I had a heap full of returns.
Where I did luck out was the Gap and Banana Rep. Areally nice long navy sweater ($35.00), maxi skirt in white ( $10.00) A linen skirt in the ( J CREW COLOUR a perfect match) festival green. I really feel I am so done with summer stuff now and I have not been able to even wear shorts here in Vancouver yet!!
I am only lurking now at the sale section...and am going to be on a NO BUYING freze for what I hope is two months...I am going to try..wish me luck. I am also refusing to do any Finial sale purcases. thanks for listening. Carolyn
Green Hills mall in Nashville still had a huge sale section with the extra 30% off. I snagged the Garment-dyed drawstring shirtdress (78955)for $59.99 - 30%, and the Anchor popover hoodie (86292) for $59.99 - 30% off. The SA allowed me to add the student discount, but made me pull up my email account on my phone to prove that it exists (???). Never had that happen before. Oh well - love the popover hoodie, and can't believe it's still FP online when I basically got it for more than half off in store. There was a large stack of the hoodies in all sizes if anyone is looking for one.

ReplyDeleteAgreed! The price discrepancies are awful. I hav called online to try to get a price match and the CSA flat out refused to call a store to verify. Then I called the personal shopper number (mine was out that day) and that PS couldn't have been nicer. She put me on hold while she called a store to verify.

I'm happy that others were able to score some good deals, but I feel like pouting, stamping my foot and yelling "It's Not Fair!" for all of us who are forced to shop online only.

DeleteI confirm 30% off is still going on in stores. The Collection store on Madison Ave @ 79 has at least two ram enameled bracelets (I have just been tgere) and the Marci wedges in Casablanca blue for $89.99. Quite oddly they have the Collection ribbon tweed pencil skirt (the one that came out in early spring) and it is still FP ($350).
ReplyDeleteI went to a b&m this weekend in search of the giraffe bangle, but came up empty handed on that front. They had the ram bangle, but it was NOT marked down. I settled for the double crystal brulee necklace for $38. There wasn't much to get excited about on the sale rack clothes wise.

I got the bright eyelet tank in the purple color for just $10 (after the 30% off sale price) -- it's still $29.99 online! I also got a lightweight wool leopard-print scarf for $20 and a few Crewcuts items for my son.
Wanted to give a shoutout to JCA'er Misty, who flagged me that the red Origami dress was marked down in Charlotte, NC. I called this weekend and they did indeed take the extra 30% off and shipped it to me for free. :) I'm comfortable with spending ~$100 on it; I know I'll wear it to death and that's half off the original price of $198. Still $158 + shipping online. I was afraid the red would sell out before I could grab my size. Normally I'd wait for a better deal. :P

I was in my Portland, OR store this weekend and overheard one of the sales associates say to another, "So they're hoping to phase out all of the red phones by September so xyz will move over there..." I didn't know if I had overheard some big secret, so I didn't ask any further details, but now I'm wishing I had! Is this something anybody else has heard about?

DeleteHi ladies - I am a longtime creeper, and I love reading about all your bargains! So fun! But I have a confession to make - I'm actually a J.Crew Sales Associate on the East Coast. Ha ha. Can you tell my J.Crew addiction is at an all time high? Alyssa, what you heard was correct - stores are in the process of phasing out the red phones in favor of a new online/computer ordering system called Blue Martini. I personally love the red phone and feel that I get the best service talking to a real person when I'm ordering something for a customer - so I'm also interested to see how this new system will play out. Fingers crossed that it will be a positive change! :)
