  1. B&M store super neat and tidy even with all the sale merch. All the SAs genuinely friendly and got a great bargain. Hard to beat this. Great sale finds in the more exclusive shops but they somehow feel more solicitous and less rewarding.

    Can't wait for fall!!

  5. Mary at the Galleria helpedd me out with annoying returns last weekend. Items from 3 different orders and had to look one up on the computer - it was over the 60 days but I got a gift card. She was super patient with the computer system which at first only came up with orders from 2007 - what is up with that?

  6. I had to return a tee that was defective. Holes in the armpits although I've only worn it 3 times, washed on delicate AND in a bag. Sigh.
Luckily both the CS rep on the phone and the SA in store were lovely. I even got an adjustment in my repurchased tee, because of course now its on-sale in stores!
Also I had a fab SA help me get my Student/Educator discount on some items I had ordered. The poor SA had to wrestle with the ancient system for about 30 min, but was totally great about it. Truly service with a smile!

  7. I continue to be impressed by the WWFIFY service JCrew offers. I used it for the first time last month, and then called them yesterday to locate a No.2 Pencil Skirt (sold out on line and everywhere I called) and the Italian Linen Shirt Dress from Collection (also sold out in my size online). Before the end of the day, they'd notified me that they'd found the skirt, and this morning I had a message that they'd found the dress too. Happy! :)

Now let's hope they both look as good IRL as I hope they will...

  8. I had a great experience in the Madewell store in Boston last weekend.

I was immediately drawn to an orange silk shirt dress. . .seriously, so cute and I can wear it to work too! Luckily they had one size 0 left, so I grabbed it. A nice SA asked if she could start a room for me, so I gave her the orange dress, then went upstairs to look at the rest of the merchandise. When I came downstairs, there was a girl standing outside the fitting room in the same orange dress. I've had people "steal" my clothes from the fitting room before, so I immediately said, "Is that the size 0 orange dress?" The girl confirmed it was, so I was like, "That was my dress." Luckily the SAs were very professional about it. They explained to the girl that I had pulled the dress first so I had first dibs on it, but that they could order her one. I was very thankful they rectified the situation because I once had the same thing happen in Anthropologie, and they let the other girl buy the shirt even though she took it from my dressing room. .I was so pissed!

So kudos to the Madewell SAs!! And it was a pleasure to visit a Madewell store in person. . .wish I had one in my city.

  9. I finally have a PS and she is amazing!! Everytime I go to my local B&M to do returns they are always so nice to me and tell me to stop appologizing (for my boxes of returns). LOVE THEM!! Also, my PS found me a pair of Veranda pants, applied the extra 30% off sale ($27.99), and shipped them to my house for free. :)

  10. Joseph, Lori and Erin at the 5th Ave store are the best. Super happy I was also able to use my student/educator discount along with the additional 30% promo for my purchase. :)

  11. Last fall, while I had two weddings and associated events to attend while in my 2nd trimester of pregnancy, the Jcrew wedding specialists were so so so helpful in discussing my various options. They extended the return policy for me so I could return unworn and untagged "special events" clothing (which was on sale) so I could have different options as the event grew nearer and my body changed. I ended up with three silk tricotine dresses (2 hopes and one cecelia) and am now wearing them to the office postpartum even though I am back to my normal size. These dresses are incredibly versatile. I don't know of any other store that would have been as helpful. Bear in mind the items were on sale forever so they were probably glad to get rid of some of them... but still.

Further, the B&M store in Copley Mall, Boston, has improved their CS - no more snarkiness with returns. It is really hard to shop when you are a petite size and you have no option but to order online. In the past, they have been rude there...lately it has been service with a smile.

  12. A few recent Crewcuts reviews and loves:

I ordered the girls Casbah flats for my daughter and they are so adorable! They are her favorite shoes for church and parties, even if they don't match her outfit lol. The quality is impressive and they fit TTS. I wish they were made for adults, too, so we could match like some other prints (ikat, etc.)

She also loves the pucker tee. The fabric is very light but not see-through and supersoft. Also fits TTS.

Beware of the slub type tees, the girl's tees don't hold up in some colors and develop holes (depends on the color, just like the women's). I've never had that problem with the boys tees, or anything in the boys line for that matter.
