  1. I recently received an order from Talbots and am very pleased with a linen long sleeve tunic. It is a linen knit (split neck linen tunic, $44.50). Lightweight but not sheer, well made, great colors. I got it on 30% off promotion but I think it is worth full price. Free shipping online right now. Nice alternative to the very sheer J.Crew linen tees with more choices for sizing. A few other linen knit syles also available including a ruched v-neck longer tee.

  2. I did a review of some LEC swimwear here if anyone is interested. Really loved everything, and they have some great suits in the sale section right now too!

  3. Are there any extra % off sale codes at Lands End out there?

Gap is showing 30% in my browser through the 24th. Code GPSURPRISE

  4. I received my order from Talbots today. All the items are from the sale section.

Satin twist-neck top in Paradise (green) for $38.99 (orig. $69.50) which Fabulous Florida Mommy mentioned in one of her posts. Love the color! The rolled neck line is a little bulky. TTS - I got a 6 petite. There are lots of colors and sizes still available.

Signature Fit Garment-dyed twill crops in Red Desert. $38.99 (orig. $69.50). The Red Desert is not as saturated as in the picture but I still like it. Fits very much like the New Cafe Capri. I wear a 4 (or 6P) in the Cafe Capris but I ordered a 6 in the Talbots crops and they fit perfectly. I also ordered a 6P and they were too short and tighter.

Chiffon Chevron ruffle cardi in Black. $36.74 (orig. $99.00). Nice. Fitted (looks more like the alternate views than the default one)

Slub-knit smocked cami in Mellow Yellow. $16.49 (orig. $29.50) I threw this one in because I really like the color but I wasn't sure I'd like the style. I do. It's a fun summer top.

  5. Look similar to the schoolboy blazer for less. Note there are some styling differences, like 3 buttons and the peplum style back.

    The small sizes are gone.

  7. I have been finding some really great items at Zara lately. I bought an orange shift dress (posted on here on my blog), similar to J. Crew's urbanite shift dress. Zara has come out with some really pretty prints which remind me of the prints that J. Crew used to do. A couple weeks ago I bought this floral cotton voile tunic and this floral silk top. Highly recommend checking it out, especially if you're looking for some bright colours and prints. Their summer sale started last week too!

PS. just noticed in Zara's pre-fall collection that they have a flared trench that is very reminiscent of the flared trench in J. Crew's fall preview!

  8. Louise, I'm not a regular Zara shopper but I always find something good there, whenever I pop in. The floral silk top is really pretty. Love Zara's online feature with the content and care label. Wish J.Crew would add that feature, but only if they are going to make it accurate of course.

  9. Loving this cardi right now as an alternative to Jackie:

Very simple cardi with a slight bit of ruching at the shoulders which is a nice touch. Really soft too. Runs a bit long but it's offered in petite sizes as well :)

I don't branch out from JC as often as I probably should, but I've been doing very well at Nordstrom lately between their online sale section and the Rack store down the street from me. Their CS is great and I have had no quality issues whatsoever.

  12. It's funny how I experienced the Same with the awful smell merchandise! We must have all bought the returned items from the same previous purchaser! I almost threw up in fact!

I received the same WRONG color AGAIN for the bikini bottom that I'm hoping to match with the top. It's the 5th times. I gave up reaching out to cs and inform them the prob. It's useless and time wasting. I swear I'll never buy their swim wear again. The size is awkward and the fabric way too thin

  13. A month ago I ordered the Talbots patent-leather pointy-toe pump in cameo rose that someone had reccomended here as a (almost) perfect look-alike of the JCrew patent perfect pumps in dusty rose. They are lovely if you are used to walk in pumps (as the heel is higher). In any case it is true that they are almost a perfect much (maybe a little bit more rose-y) and they are now $55.49 and available in almost all the sizes and you can use this code 023087249 to get 20% off (I just used it to re-order them and order a narrow size to compare as they were a little bit big in my regular size). HTH someone!

  15. I came across a skirt that looks remarkably similar to the newly released Jardin skirt. It's at F21 for $19.80 and is 100% cotton! Perfect for warm weather :)
