Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SPRING sale, or to see some new SUMMER arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  5. I won't have time to visit, but look forward to hearing reports from JCAs that do get to go.

  6. I'm heading there today and will report back! ;)

  7. I might... but I don't really need anything.

On another note, the sevigne washed leather sandals are TO DIE FOR. I have tried J.Crew's tie up sandals in the past and they were a no go because the ties just cut into your leg or didn't stay tied. Not these babies. They are very comfy, easy to tie, and they stay tied. Not to mention they are adorable. Highly recommend... totally worth the money. And I'm cheap!

  8. I have an order on it's way; so I'll behave and waitt o see what the items look like.

I did notice that the sweatshirt I ordered, yes I have a fleece thing, is now regular price. I scored it for about $27 with the 30% sale price; but it's back to $49. What's up with that?

  9. Going to try to get in there, but only to make returns.

  10. My Quorra oxfords and rowboat dress should arrive today. I'm eagerly anticipating the delivery since these items have been getting rave reviews. I might get brave and put IRL pics of the dress on my blog. I'll definitely have the shoes in an upcoming post. Sure hope my Ikat dress ships out soon too, the waitlist date is mid-June and it would be great if it could arrive sooner because I'd like to wear it right now. This has been a good season for casual J.Crew dresses that work in my wardrobe

  11. jcrew guy in Canada - You should know by now that JC prices have rubber in them. ;) Maybe it doesn't happen in the men's section often. I see it all the time in womens.

xoxo - Looking forward to seeing your new shoes.

  12. ...oh, not going to J Crew this weekend. I got the madras perfect shirt & silk sophie (ivory). Love them both.

  13. Going to make some returns today. I got the Liberty Bouquet Shirtdress just to see how it looked, and it's pretty indecent. I'm 5'8" and if I raise my arms, you can see everything.

  16. UPS just dropped off my Quorra heels and rowboat dress. Unfortunately I put a fresh coat of polish on my toes so I can't try the shoes on for a little while. Usually UPS drops off around 6pm so I thought I had plenty of time. First impressions of the shoes are that the x and o cutouts don't exactly look like x and o, more like an egg and some other funny shape but that's no big deal for me. When I opened the shoebox there was a very strong chemical odor (glue?) so I removed the plastic sleeves and left them in another room to air out. Will post photos and a review on my blog.

As far as the Rowboat dress... I tried it and will definitely post IRL photos on my blog. I got the blue and the alternating stripes are not white, they are more of an ivory/cream that is quite yellow and I do not like. The top fits snug across my bust (I'm large on top) but there are volumes on the bottom so I don't get the cute fit that Ema and Dani have in their photos. The seams are not flat, they are just serged and do not lie nicely. The neckline is also very wide, my bra straps show and it's not listed as a boatneck. Regardless, the wider neckline is not good on bustier figures. One more thing, the copy lists side-seam pockets that seem to be there in the model shot but on my dress there are no pockets at all. Unfortunately I think this is a return but I'll try tomorrow when I have a bit more time to think about it. :^(

  17. xoxo, I'm sorry the Rowboat didn't work for you. :( I love it, but I guess it is like with me and the Rumi dress. People love it, and I want to love it too, but it looks not too great on me. I swear, I'm going to make the Rumi work on me..maybe.ha.

But you are so right, where are the pockets?? I never caught that, but my dress doesn't have pockets either. And you are right about the strip color. They are that creamish, almost khakish color, not off white. That color worked well on my skin tone, but its off from the website some.

Hope the shoes work out though! :)

  18. not sure where to ask this , but what happened to the other colors offered in the sun drenched sweatshirt?? on thursday there were three new colors, now they are gone!!?????

  19. I went today and saw the same markdowns as posted above. Too many to list, but I'll post pics of some sale items on my blog tomorrow. There was also a new Mirabel dress with spaghetti straps that was adorable.

  20. xoxo, too bad that the rowboat dress did not work for you :( And boo for missing pockets, I guess that's one of the cost cutting measures we discussed on the other thread...
But I should thank you since I was contemplating it after seeing it on Ema and Dani but snug on the top and roomy at the bottom will not work for me. What size did you order?
And do let us know how you find the Quorras.

  21. ajc, I ordered a size 10 in the rowboat dress to make sure I had enough room in the top. I am between 8 and 10 in J.Crew tops and usually 4 in J.Crew skirts and pants. I modeled the rowboat dress for my husband tonight and he actually laughed (at the dress, not me) so it is definitely going back. Will post a link to the review and photos when my blog review is up.

I can understand J.Crew not having pockets on the dress but why would you put that in the copy and then not have the pockets at all?! And the color difference is too much to be acceptable. I know I'm not the only one who can wear white but not a cream with yellow undertones. Oh well, I had free shipping so the only cost is my shipping the dress back to J.Crew.

  22. xoxo, I am sorry that the Rowboat didn't work out for you. I personally find it more snug in the hips than in the top, so I guess it really depends on the body type (and viceversa, the Rumi dress didn't work on me at all).

I just wanted to let all the pencil skirt lovers know that there is beautiful new pencil skirt in stores in a paisley print similar to the Palermo one of the factory site but a little bit more crowded and overall darker, in the tones of navy, periwinkle and orange (if I am not wrong). It is textured like the first paisley one and I guess is the same price. Sorry I couldn't take pics b/c I was in a hurry but could be worth a visit (they had just received it today).
The funny thing is, I was wearing the factory one and some SAs complimented me on my skirt (thinking it was the new one)!

  23. Ha! And I thought I was crazy. I just checked my rowboat for the third time to see if there were pockets that I just wasn't finding, after checking the site again and seeing not only the photo that shows pockets, but also the description. I thought maybe I had a defective one until reading this post--thanks.

I'm on the fence about my rowboat because like xoxo, mine is tight on me at the top (at the shoulders, actually) and loose at the hips. And my husband also nixed it, saying it didn't fit well and that I looked like I had tires around my body. So I should send it back, but I love stripes, and the buttons at the back are so cute!

The beige stripes took me by surprise too.

  24. And I just re-checked after reading xoxo's post--the neckline is also much wider on me than on the model, but I actually like this.

  25. the indie dress is on sale for 89.99 in both colors in store!

  26. Just posted pics here from my stop at the store yesterday. A new Mirabel dress, the Mirabel skirt, and several sale items.

  27. I was there last night. Love the new printed pencil skirt. It must be in store right now. It's dark blue, orange/red. Beautiful. Not sure what's it's called. $128.

  28. Just came back from Lake Grove, NY store and noticed the Schoolboy madras blazer is down to $29.99. They had at least 4 left in various sizes. HTH someone!

As for myself - scored the perfect shirt in teaberry and indian voile shirt in white.

  29. xoxo: That's too bad about the rowboat dress! I am very narrow on top compared to my hips and derriere. Small shoulders and a 32B bust, that explains the different fit I am sure.
Oh the lack of the pockets! I have to say I am quite tired of the copy not matching the products. Come on J Crew! How does an online retailer get away with this? I might have to write to Mickey. ;)

  30. Pansy, how much was the teaberry shirt? I've been looking for it in my size forever!!

  31. @savvy shopper: It was 49.99, just like the website.

  33. I'm desperately seeking Mirabel dress in 00 or 0 in black sand if anyone sees it in the store. I tried to get them to look for it over the phone but they wouldn't do a search just said: "I looked for this dress six times yesterday and no one has it" He also said there was a poppy color but it's only in black online. Please let me know if you see the black in a store in my size. Hopefully it will pop back up. Do you think they are making less stock now so they can cut out the discount codes?
