Madewell Email: Meet the Widelegger (+ 20% off jeans In Stores)

"Thanks!" to many of you, including Irina, who shared the following news from Madewell this morning.

Madewell is featuring their Widelegger Jean ($125) which will soon be available for purchase. If you are interested in pre-ordering them, call (866) 544-1937. (I adore the outfit in the image used for the email. Such great style. Love the jeans!)

In honor of the grand debut of the Widelegger, Madewell is hosting an "in-store shopping party at your local Madewell" this Thursday, February 17th. To learn more about this event, check out Madewell's Facebook page. What else to expect at this event? How about live DJ tunes, sweets & treets, and 20% off all jeans!

Even though we can't purchase the Widelegger Jean yet, two stars were seen wearing a pair. Over at Fabsugar (click here for post), there is an image of both Jessica Alba and Jessica Biel rocking the denim.

Madewell is also offering 20% off all sale items (no min) and free shipping (on $100+) with promo code SOGREAT. This offer expires Wednesday, February 16, 2011.

What are your thoughts on the Widelegger Jean? Are there any Madewell items you are interested in getting?

  1. Count me in as being excited for the return of the trouser leg. Not all of us are leggy and can wear the toothpick silhoutte with ease. It's a matter of genetics that no matter how much I diet and exercise, I simply can't adopt the "big over small" silhouette that has been prevalent the last few years. So yay for trouser jeans (and chinos)!!

  2. Oh! And since I'm heading to U. Village next week, I can visit Madewell and try the new jeans on! Will report back on fit/wash/quality :D

  3. oh YAY. I have been doing skinnys and matchsticks, but it is not the best look for me. These looks great and I will buy them as soon as available. Would look cute with a stripe tee + cardi (that we are seeing everywhere this spring...)

  4. I'm looking forward to trying these jeans on. It's a hassle to go into the B&M but considering the wonky fit I've had in Madewell jeans, it's worth the trip. Seriously, I'm always a 26 in J. Crew and I was a 24 in one pair of Madewell jeans, and a size 28 in another!

  5. Closet Crisis & Rebecca: I am with you! I love the look of trouser leg. :) I like the skinny leg, but just can't pull it off. The closest I can get is vintage slim and boy fit- but even then its loose. ;)

Tippy: Let us know how these jeans work out when you try them. :)

  6. It's great that there is not just one cut of jeans that is the "must wear" for everyone. I love that there are options, whether it is that some fit better on certain figures or people just want to change up their look.

  7. Actually, after reading Tippy's comments on the fit of Madewell, could others provide feedback on the fit in general or specifically to some of their styles? I have yet to try any. I typically have trouble getting both the thighs and waist to fit in jeans, always needing to wear a belt, which i hate.

  8. Agree with Alexis - that outfit is adorable!!

I'm excited for more trouser jean options too - though I confess I only half-heartedly ventured into skinny jean territory. And I never, ever gave up my beloved High Heeled Flares!

  9. I'm really liking the trouser leg jean style. Always have, actually. I got a really cute pair at WHBM that I love last month.

  10. i just bought a pair of these yesterday at madewell =)

the sizing is a little weird - and not just because i'm 5'3" (these jeans are NOT meant for shorties). they are very fitted through the thigh and to the knee, then flared. so they were a little tight in the thighs but that was the size that fit my waist the best. the madewell employee who grabbed the sizes for me told me to size down as they stretch. just wish they came in a petite or short size!
