This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available in the early Fall sale, or to see some new Fall arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!
Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!
Too bad there's nothing new in the sale section :(
ReplyDeleteExtra 20% and free ship for over $150 with EXTRA20. But no sale update... yet.
ReplyDeleteI visited my local jcrew today. There were a bunch of tees on sale for 24.99.
ReplyDeleteI did check out some of the new arrivals and I'm in love with the retro floral tee and beaded rose tee. Will post reviews soon!
Okay, so I found a couple of things that I added to $150, but just barely...
ReplyDeleteEXCEPT, you only get FREE shipping if your order (after the 20% off) is $150 or more....
I should read the fine print better next time....
Oh, by the way... I figured it... You have to order at least $187.50 to get the 20% AND free shipping.
ReplyDeleteHAPPY DAY, OH HAPPY DAY!!!
ReplyDeleteJust came over here to post on the extra 20%, which is good, but even better is that using my white card 800 number, the very nice lady on the phone CREDITED me 20% for the sale items in a large-ish order I just received today!!! How great is that?! She was so nice about it too, not all jerky!! I am so excited I am going to place another order! :) THAT is good CS, JCrew!
Oh yeah, of course I'm going this weekend. Fri or Sat...
ReplyDeletestill ISO a Small headache and imperial Ts, just in case anyone happens to see one :)
yay for the sale! just splurged on the camino coat! for only $156, such a great deal! :)
ReplyDeleteI just went yesterday, so no...I won't be visiting again this weekend. :)
ReplyDeleteWow. I was all excited for the 20% plus free shipping! I have been searching for 1/2 hour and honestly I cant find anything in the sale section that I want. Depressing. I do have THREE separate orders coming ... should I call and see if they will credit the 20%?

ReplyDeleteFFM: Do you have pics of the Moon sweater?, it sounds interesting.
ReplyDeleteI just re-ordered some stuff that came yesterday (which will promptly be returned), along with the Crosby coat in navy. I have been curious about it for a while, and with the discount it's down to $180 from $325. I was debating between the camel and the navy, but I had tried the ruffle-front coat in camel and the color did nothing for me. We'll see how if the navy works out.
ReplyDeleteOT: does anyone have any experience with sizing on the Crosby coat? I ordered my usual outerwear size, but I am concerned it will be overly bulky.
ReplyDeleteGood for you mommydearest,
ReplyDeleteI could not get them to apply my educator's discount to my full priced items order that I used one of the free shipping codes on. I tried twice. I don't have the speical number though.
Went yesterday to Southpoint (Durham, NC) - not much in the sale section a few silk tiered camis in black/wh print, black, and purple in larger sizes. Also an ocelot cardi in XS.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone sees the bl/wh print in a 6 please let me know? Hear Santa Barbara may have some. Any others? marymoo86@ live.com
I just placed an order online, so I won't be going into a store. I may go to the outlet though.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone seen the girls Twisted Seaweed Necklace IRL? It looks so sweet, for me, and i was wondering if a grown up could wear it.
ReplyDeleteI was at my J. Crew Outlet yesterday-
ReplyDeleteThe "Party Etiquette", "Dance Etiquette", and Painter Tees were on Clearance and an additional 30% off.
They seem to update the website on east coast hours - by the time I wake up in the Pacific NW (early)
ReplyDeletethe website updates have been posted and picked over. They should time sale section updates later when customers on both coasts are awake.
marymoo: do you remember the price of the black and white print? i'm hoping it dropped to $19.99 like the papaya color :)
ReplyDeletemarisa, I've been eyeing that for me, too, but the online pic looks like it doesn't have a closure. I don't know if 22 inches would go over my head? It really is darling though, and a decent price. Pleas post if you decide to buy it!

ReplyDeleteIf anyone spots the pearl ribbon necklaces for 19.99 at a b&m please let me know! I missed out on the markdown locally, and never saw that price online. KLG_12@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteTIA!!!
Michelle - they should be down to 29.99 now.
ReplyDeletecasual crew: I posted pics of the Moon cardigan on my blog:
ReplyDeleteMoon Asymmetrical Zip Cardigan
YEAH! Found a 6 in the BL/Wh Silk Tiered Cami at the Nashville store. Sounded like they had several of the cami's there.
ReplyDeleteLooking for the broken in boyfriend chinos in a 6. I think they are on sale for 19.99. Or even the destructed ones. Thanks
ReplyDeleteHeidi, You are the best!!! It's called the Pearl Ribbon necklace, same style as last years bead/stone necklace that came in multiple colors. The original price was $55 or $58, and went down instore to $19.99. I saw some on ebay listed at or above original price, they're probably the ones that scooped up the good sale. Have fun shopping, and thanks again!!!
ReplyDeleteDebra: I think they had some of the Broken-In Boyfriend Chinos in size 6 at the Orlando store. 407-226-9732
ReplyDeleteMaryMoo, how much were the black/white tiered camis from Nashville?
ReplyDeleteWent yesterday to the Montgomery Mall B&M. They had lots of the merino v-neck sweaters for $39 in most colors, mainly ranging from sizes S-XL lots of painter tees too, as well as a few of the rooster and "two dogs" tees and Skinny leather belts added to the sale section. They also have the Always Cardigan in all colors if anyone was interested (I certainly was!). I bought one in blue and it's pretty TTS and comfy :) sorry, long post!
ReplyDeletesilver_lining: they were $29.99 and shipping was $6.00.
ReplyDeleteHeidi, You get plus ten good shopping karma today!!! Thanks so much for the Grove tip, I called a minute ago. They didn't have any of the exact style I was looking for, but they did have the retail only, very similar "legume" glass pearl and ribbon necklaces in the champagne color. This is the one with the ribbon twined around the pearls every forth or fifth pearl, and it's $19.99. I remember seeing it at my local store and they were quite cute, so thanks so much. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteHorray for extra 20% off! I jumped right onto the JC website to make the purchase on my shopping cart, and the prices of items already in my cart have been increased! Things that used to be on sale are now only regular price! Am I crazy, or did this happen to anyone else? I still will likely purchase a few items, but those matchstick cords used to be 69.99 and now they're 79...
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if anyone who has gone to the outlet recently could give an update on any new/cute items of note or special sales/discounts. I am debating about going this weekend, but I'd hate travel and hour if there isn't much to see. Particularly, are there any infamous prints from last year (golden roses skirt, watercolor cerise flowers skirt/cami) or styles (giraffe print halter cami, bella coats). TIA!
ReplyDeletelove2shop4bags AT yahoo DOT com
Love2shop4bags: I went to the factory store a few weeks ago and got a golden roses print merino cardigan. It was full price ($72.00, I think) but I had to have it. They also had the same print in a pleated ruffle cami, can't think of the name of it. They had a lot of last year's prints and styles re-done for the factory store. Most of it looked pretty good to me, but the prices were awfully high. Maybe they'll be having a Veteran's Day sale?? You never know. Hope you have some luck!
ReplyDeleteHas anyone bought and worn the Men's gingham button-down as an alternative to the women's checked shirt? It's a tad cheaper and looks much softer. I just bought one in size xs to try out...has anyone else tried this as well?
ReplyDeleteOT: 30% off coupon at Gap, Old Navy, and Banana Republic to support Teach for America. Hope this helps someone :)
ReplyDeletehttp://www.gapinc.com/giveandget/teachforamerica/
AppGal: Yes, I tried ordering the Men's button down gingham shirt in the gray plain in an XS, because I bought the women's navy check print and wanted a gray as well after seeing it styled in the catalog. However, I did get it before I noticed the new arrivals in the women's section with the gray plaid. I don't understand why the women's version costs $10 more when there is clearly less material. And, I am more annoyed after the seeing the price go up from $64 to $69.50. Anyways, sorry for the rant, but I did not like the men's check shirt in XS. I definitely love the feel and print, but it didn't fit me well. I am usually between a 4 and 6 in JC tops and definitely a 4 in the bottom (I am more straight shaped with some chestiness so I usually get gaping in button down shirts). While the XS was still roomy enough in the top for me, I thought the bottom from waist down way too snug. I had it over leggings and it was pulling. I think if you're a little smaller than a 4 in the hip area, straight shaped, and/or will only be tucking it in, then I think it's okay. Otherwise, the proportions are definitely off, and it seems that the men's XS has gotten smaller. I remember buying a men's XS button down in Spring and it fit just great. I will definitely be returning mine. HTH!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know if the stardust skirt is at B&M's? The gunmetal sold out in my size online. Has anyone seen the copper IRL? The skirt looks dressy/night time, but they have is styled with tee/online and puffer/catalog. Can anyone give me their thoughts/opinion on this skirt? TIA.
ReplyDeleteDropped by the Prince St store in Soho, NY today... saw many of the collection items already on the selling floor. The sequin scarf cardigan, tattered silk cotton tank and the crinkle cascade dress. They also have the tiered vintage fleur top if anyone is looking. Btw, the Luciana lace heels is $99.99 in the store... compared to $149.99 online.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone washed the perfect fit shirts? They're 100% cotton and I'm not sure if I should be sizing up for shrinkage or staying with my regular size. Any help would be appreciated. TIA.
ReplyDeleteCarla,
ReplyDeleteI purchased the stardust sequin skirt in gunmetal and it's absolutely gorgeous! Garden State Plaza in NJ should still have some. Haven't seen the copper IRL, although I'm tempted to get it online just to see what it looks like.
had 2 hit the red phone yest for the Rustico Tweed Turtleneck. free shipping and a teacher discount is always in order...i wish i could use these codes in conjunction w/ my teacher discount...but i cant so until then its me and the red phone.
ReplyDeleteBoston Copley had an awesome sale section! Lots of embellished tees in all colors and sizes: carnation including in pink and white), silk corsage tees, necklace tees, and others. Matchstick cords in brownish and tan colors were just $29.99. They had lots of bangle bracelets, various merino V-necks, and lots of shoes in large sizes. And best of all... the sales associate who rang me up was new I think, so she let me use the student discount on my sale loot!
ReplyDeleteI sought some CC items via email and "Melanie" found it for me! Is it "the" Melanie??
ReplyDeleteI did have to call them this morning and then get a call back because the CS rep I talked to couldn't find my request, but I got it!
Hi Appgal - I agree with love2shop4bags on the men's check shirt. I bought it too - really strange fit. fits fine on top, but snug on the hips. I realize men don't have hips, but again, like love2shop4bags, I have purchsed other men's shirts before that worked. This one,no dice. I went ahead and ordered the women's version - I haven't received it yet. The mens does look softer. Oh well - we'll see.
ReplyDeleteCarla, hate to be discouraging but good luck finding the gunmetal color! I have had the strangest experience trying to score one myself.
ReplyDeleteI saw it at Garden State last week or the week before and should have just bought it, but I didn't. Then this week I decided I definitely wanted it and called them. They were sold out. My PS at my normal store said he expected to get them in with the rollout, but they didn't. On a total whim, I called a different store near where I grew up and the SA said they *just* got one IN.MY.SIZE! returned from catalog and someone else was trying it on. She said she would send it to me if the other lady didn't want it (which, thankfully, she didn't)!! Then I noticed around Thurs, it showed up as available in gunmetal on the website and then disappeared by the next day.
Point being, it seems the stores expected to get it and never did. And it's sold out online, so maybe there was just more demand than Mickey expected. Maybe a we will find it could locate one for you? I thought it ran TTS - a tad long for me at 5'6" (hit right at the knee)
I'd really like to see copper too...am thinking about ordering it in petite and deciding which to keep.
love2shop4bags & Mack: Thanks for the feedback on the men's checked shirt...I've already ordered it, so I guess I'll see when it arrives. If it doesn't work, it can always go back, and hopefully the women's version will still be in stock. Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteFabulous Florida Mommy, Thanks for the info. Got the Chinos. Thats twice you have helped me :)
ReplyDeleteNo 20% additional sales at J.Crew B&M, but GAP offers 25% off entire purchase this weekend. I bought two slouchy turtleneck sweaters at B&M.
ReplyDeleteI'm in search of the Poplin Brynn dress in warm wisteria color in size 4. I ordered the petite size and it's too short for me. If you see one please let me know. TIA!!
ReplyDeletenotaryjulee at gmail dot com
On the sequin skirt. If you have shorter legs, you may be able to wear the petite size even if don't usually wear petites. I called and the measurements on the 2 vs 4P were exactly the same except for the length. I have the copper color & am waiting to be home w/some good lighting to take a photo. I wasn't impressed when I opened it. To me it's something F21 could knock off very well for a much less price. It's thin/lightweight, which is great for movement, I suppose. A major issue is that I couldn't get it open because the zipper snags the sequins. I finally got it open 3/4 of the way and I won't be zipping it back because I don't want to damage it more than the couple of sequins that have snagged. I'm very curious to see what nojcrewinjapan thinks. I believe she recently ordered 2 J Crew sequins skirts and this is one of them.
ReplyDeleteThis is way off topic, but has anyone noticed that J.Crew has dropped out of all the major credit card membership programs? Last year I redeemed points through both Amex and Visa for J.Crew gift cards. Browsing through now I see they've dropped out of both. Wonder why that is.
ReplyDeleteRoxy,
ReplyDeleteI just redemmed points with my Visa and got a $25 J.Crew gift card--just this week.
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteHmm, thanks Genny. Maybe my particular cards just dropped J.Crew out of the programs then...which would be lame.

Jean: Thanks for the update. I went to my closest outlet hoping to find some of these items, and they didn't have any. I'm wondering if they didn't receive their shipment yet or if woodbury got theirs early. Either way, thanks a bunch! I will give them a call to get some of these items.
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing the info on woodbury, jean! one of the managers at that store told me that they are the concept store for outlets so hopefully the others will get these items soon! there are a few things i'd like to check out :)
