Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available in the Spring sale, or to see some new Summer arrivals {wahoo!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. Classic pique polos are $14.99, give them a try. I got fresh mint in-store and also chalk, which is like an ecru or off-white.

  2. I'm waiting until Tuesday to visit so I can try on the new arrivals. :)

I bought the monterey skirt and I recommend you at least try it on. It's cute, comfy, cool, and has pockets (plus it has an elastic waist!). Okay, it is linen and I know how many of you feel about linen, but I don't mind linen. It's on promo right now for $45.

  3. OT: I decided to sell my Hayworth giraffe cami which is a size 10.

Before listing it on ebay, I thought I would offer it to you ladies first.

I paid $120 and will sell for the same.

    If interested e-mail me @ musthavejcrew@yahoo.com

  4. already bought the dressy jersey strapless dress, on sale for 49.99!! Love it!!

  5. I agree with gigi on the classic pique polos. I have warm blush, breeze, and white, and got them all for $14.99 each. They are comfy and the quality is high.

I'll be keeping my eyes open for suiting on sale. Right now I am looking for:

    Textured hemp jacket in navy, size 4;

Superfine cotton blazer in navy, size 4.

I picked up the birch cloth suit (both jacket and skirt), and I love it. The material is very soft and has some nice stretch to it. It's not on sale, but I think it's worth the splurge.

    ReplyDelete
  6. lilac cupcake - I got the skirt of the birch cloth suit (couldn't make myself buy the jacket, although I was tempted), and I agree - it's such a nice piece, and definitely worth the splurge :)

  7. I just went yesterday to make a couple returns and didn't have time to look around. From what I could tell the sale section looked pretty full though.

  8. I'll visit my local store this weekend to make a lot of returns

    ReplyDelete
  9. Oh poo. By the time I got there it was down to 680.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Anyone else noticeing the odd pricing of some of the items? $30.80, $26.40, $54.70

  11. Went in to the AA store this morning to do my returns and do a quick sale browse. Boyfriend tissue tees, pique polos, and jersey dresses abound, but I walked out without buying! Nothing needful, although at 14.99 the tie dye v neck tees are looking kind of cute.

    ReplyDelete
  12. snow: odd pricing is due to select swimwear being 30% off.

  13. Does anyone know how the Twyla sandal fits? There is a pair on ebay I am considering. I am a standard 6.5 length but my foot is a bit wide...

    Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  14. I was at Tysons yesterday and picked up the dressy strapless jersey dress for 49.99 and a pair of Danielle's in warm blush that I am still deciding about.

Cheesy Goodness - I saw those tie dyes and was considering - i'm not usually a tie-dye person, but those are cute, esp for 14.99. I still like FFM's designation of pieces as "on sale cute" and "on sale pretty". Accurate term in many cases.

    ReplyDelete
  15. j.crewlover: Thanks! I just checked my e-mail and say that sale!
Ummm... that's pretty tempting actually. but considering I'm in Canada and we still haven't really had any beach worthy weather yet i can holdout till the super swim sale later this month (hopefully!)

  16. OT- but can anyone comment on the Greer sandals? They look lovely and I'm debating an order. Thanks!

  18. Does anyone know if the Featherweight Cashmere cardi fits anything like the Jackie? Is it very sheer, very delicate?

I just pulled the trigger on a size small in Soft Seashell, on sale for $99. Such a pretty colour, hope it ships!

  19. I bought the Canvas atelier jacket today, in mineral grey, only $60 in store

    ReplyDelete
  20. Jessica,
That is a great buy! If I could find one I would buy it too at that price!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Me too...I'm jealous, Jessica! I've wanted that for a while now in grey.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Bought a Soiree Sateen jacket in Soft Seashell today for 39.99, what a steal!

Had been on the fence about it but the beautiful tailoring convinced me, it's what made me love JC long before MO!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Any reviews of the resin links bracelet? I'm tempted, but I'm wondering if it can get scratched easily.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Amanda -- about the Twyla heels. I bought them from e-Bay last year. Really love them but they slip right off of me all the time...to the point they are almost unwearable. I don't get it as they are my normal size but the strap on the back just won't stay put. I even buoght some of those sticky strips for the back strap and still, I step right out of them. It's so disappointing. I'm not sure I would invest if I were you.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Jbird -- I can't comment on the fit of the Greer as I don't own but have been LUSTING over the Golden Cypress color. LOVE! You should definitely get them. Timeless and classic, I think. Aren't you getting ready to shove off to the high seas on your cruise??? I'm sure J. Crew cruisewear is all lined up!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Was in Mall of America store Thursday. Sale section was full -- lots of T's, a few canvas Atelier & ruffle neck short cotton pea coat, cafe capris, tie dye T's. Great help from SA Aaron. Some good sale jewelry, too.

  27. Hey you guys, I am guessing there won't be a post about the J. Crew swim that's on sale since she'll be out of town, but: Can anyone tell me how sizing goes? I'm thinking of the solid twist bandeau tank and wear a 2/4 on top and a 6 on bottom. I will need a long torso but wonder whether I should size up, since nearly every time I shop for swimsuits they seem one size too small. Thank you so much in advance for any advice!

    ReplyDelete
  28. AnneG-

I'm lusting over that same color! How funny! Yep, the cruise is coming up soon- the 20th to be exact. We head out for Miami a little earlier. I've got lots of JC cruisewear ready for packing! :-)

    ReplyDelete
  29. TaraFabo, in my experience the tops have been TTS to small, and TTS to large on the bottom. You may have to play around with fit, but it will hopefully be worth it! I've had only good experiences with JC swimwear for myself and my daughter regarding quality and longevity. Fabrics feel great and don't lose color or stretch out as long as you take reasonably good care of them. A word on the solid twist bandeau top: I ordered it, D-cup, regular length, and it was an absolute no-go. The catalog shows it as a loose fit, almost trapeze effect and that is def. not the case. Also, the cup size wasn't any roomier than the regular sizes. If you are worried about cup spillage, I'd size up on top. HTH!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Hey JCAs! This is OT, but I thought you guys might be able to help me out..

If any of you that read this happen to be around my same size and fit (jcrew 8 SHORT city-fit is the only thing that works for me; I'm 5'4 and the JC short length is just short enough for me. Why can't they offer short for more of their pants??), I'm wondering: where else do you all find pants that fit similarly?

    Thanks, ladies!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Ashley: I'm 5'5" and I like to get short sizes whenever it is offered. I find the regular inseam to be 1-2" longer. I used to get BR pants in short sizes for dressier pants. For J.Crew pants, if it's not offered in short sizes I'll sometimes get petite size.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Amanda: Twyla heels looked so pretty online I had to try them on. But as someone commented, they are hard to walk in since the sling back straps keep on falling off. I had to return it...

  33. Ladies , any reviews for Dulce sequin skirt ? Is it TTS? Any problems with the sequins coming off?
    Is it worth $450?

  34. Big sale update around 6 AM, 929 items. Lots of popbacks. Boo. Just placed an unplanned, too-big order yesterday, restraining myself today.

Good luck to the early risers out there.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I managed to snag a couple of things with the update, like the superfine cotton jacket that I have been looking for.

Also, the linen Holly jacket is back in flax in smaller sizes, so I got that too along with some popbacks.

Faille Maisie jacket is back in many sizes in rose and champagne as well.

  36. P.S. I am looking for linen-cotton seaside shorts in a size 6. I got the white at the sale price, and I love them! Any leads appreciated.

  38. Site updated for Saturday:)

Like a few others have mentioned I looked at the sateen soiree blazer but it just seems too plain. Am I only looking at it b/c it is on sale??? Yes, I tell myself. I would rather wait and get a blazer with a little more excitement! I have the poppy floral and the Gladiola which have both sold out so glad I got them:) New arrivals also to look at coming soon:)

  39. I'm looking for a washed ruffle-collar trench in 0 or a 2, in the khaki color. If anyone spots one, can please post here? Particularly in one of the NYC stores. Thanks!

  42. Has anybody seen any of the cotton medallion shorts in a size 0 in any of the stores?

    Thanks!!

  43. Genny:

I just bought the Soiree satin blazer in all 3 colors b/c I loved the first one I bought so much. You will be surprised at how many things you can wear it with -- all those ruffled/detailed tops this season need something more understated to go on top. This blazer is gorgeous --it's fully lined -- and I can't believe they are not all gone by now. I am bummed because I could have owned all 3 of my jackets for under $120 if I had waited!! Hint: I sized down to a 4 from my normal 6 and it fits great! You won't be sorry!

    ReplyDelete
  44. laurenmarie,
Thanks for the info. If there is an extra % off then I will buy one (with your rec.) but otherwise, I am holding off:) I have not bought any of the embellished or ruffled tees this year. I prefer plain tees with statement jackets over them. It is nice to hear the blazer is nice though:) and thanks for the sizing tips. There are over 50+ left in each colorin my size so I have time:)

    ReplyDelete
  45. PS

    Laurenmarie,

What does the spicy olive color look like IRL? That color looks to be the most unique and fun! But not sure how flattering it would be on me...

    ReplyDelete
  46. Last week I purchased the wallpaper chino in cream/gold in Miami for $9.99. Can you believe it? The store sales have been better than the outlets. It's really the year of J.Crew. Loving their easy chic designs...thanks for a great blog too!

    ReplyDelete
  47. I ended up going today so I could get a price adjustment on the monterey skirt. I tried on the soft tee ruffle top with the skirt and loved the combo! The top runs huge, though; I bought an x-small and I have broad shoulders and a 36C chest. I was afraid of the ruffle, but it surprisingly works! Not many new clothing items - a super cute pair of black and white printed shorts - but lots of new jewelry, many of which I love. Can't wait to go back Tuesday and see the rest.

  48. did anyone see the silk garland camis either in breeze or actually in any solid color or gladiola in sz 0 ?

  49. City Living Girl, thanks for the info. and congrats on the great score! Which pants are you referring to exactly? Are they retail only?

  50. Ema,

I was just at the CT store in Westport today and they had quite a few washed ruffle collar trench jackets, and I am pretty sure they had a size 2 in the khaki. You may want to call them and just have it shipped to you since you're close by in NY. Hope this helps!

    ReplyDelete
  51. jcmama: thanks!

If you order a petite pair of pants, do you size up from the regular?

    ReplyDelete
  52. Amanda - Regarding the Twylas, if you get an extra hole in the strap, that will secure it better when you buckle it. I LOVE the Twylas.

Genny - I have a pic of the soiree in the olive color on my blog:

  53. I went to my local B&M today. Pleated lawn skirt was $19.99 (online $49.99). I spotted several seaside green Café capris in size 0, which are sold out online ($39.99?) The shop is Carmel CA: 831 624 2803. HTH!

  54. Weirdest update ever this morning. 899 sale items, lots of jewelry and bags, but nothing is avaiable. And there are some ANCIENT items posted in many categories ... like the Taj Mahal necklace?

Mentioned it the other day, but if anyone is on the fence about the Soiree jacket at 39.99, don't be. It IS gorgeous and beautifully constructed, and I agree with an earlier comment that it's amazing they're not sold out. You'll wear it with everything, but be careful w/the Spicy Olive color if you don't wear olives well (it's the most interesting color, but it made me look like a corpse).

  55. sorry to be O/T, but does anyone know if the JCrew matchstick jeans have changed their fit since late 2007/early 2008? I stopped into the Palo Alto store and tried on a pair, and was surprised to find that they don't fit my like my old matchsticks used to. My usual size (26) was too tight in the hips/waist, and when I sized up to a 27, it was too loose in the knees/lower thigh area. Has anyone else had this problem with the matchsticks recently, too, or did I just have bad luck with that one pair?

    Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  56. I just checked the update and clicked on about 20 items all in stock. Some in just a few sizes but I was pleasantly surprised.

I have to disagree on the Soiree jacket. I did not like the fit and I am not alone as I read a couple of other bloggers with the same issue. It just seemed a bit blah to me with all the other "fun" JCrew jackets and blazers out there.

    ReplyDelete
  57. P.S.

All coupon codes for free shipping have expired so please do share if anyone comes across any new ones:)

The $150 ones are not incentive enough for me to buy esp. with the educator's discount no longer being able to be used on sale items. That used to help a ton with the crazy high shipping costs when I did not want to spend $150+

  58. There is a Wool flannel abstract rose dress available in size 8

  59. Lilac Cupcake

I was at the King of Prussia PA store yesterday (and Crewcuts) and saw a lot of the linen seaside shorts. I don't know what sizes they had, but there were a lot of them.

That store had a ton of excellent stuff actually, many promotions and a full sale section.

I spied the Monterey skirt in Ikat print, fell in love, and now it is in my basket, waiting for a sale code...

I have a few of the swim skirts (let's face it 3 kids is not good on your body unless you are Kate -- I hate her). Anyway, I agree that they are TTS or slightly big. I saw bikini bottoms at the store yesterday and they look TTS or big as well. The quality is really nice, nice fabric with great colors.

I also saw a large Gallery Hobo bag in black --- drool --- I love my silver metallic one.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Anon and Kate, thanks for the tips on the washed ruffle-collar trench, I will call them.

New Yorkers, I went to the 5th Avenue store yesterday and the selection in the sale section was pretty good. I could find a terry cardi in oatmeal, they had many in all the colors but shell ($19.99). Also many striped sorbet cardigans for 29.99 and a lot of shoes (mostly heels but also fionas and at least one Rimini gladiator in light chartreuse). No jackets tough.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Can anyone tell me if they've seen the dark grey/slate in the ruffle trench anywhere in a size 6? Preferably in NY, but I'm happy to have it shipped.

    ReplyDelete
  62. kristina, I have three washes of matchstick jeans and they all fit differently so maybe try another wash to see if it fits better. The ultra dark wash is about one size bigger than the crisp (baby) blue wash. The deep indigo is somewhere in the middle.

I'm one who also doesn't love the soiree blazer. The jacket hem hits in an odd place and the sateen seems to hold the wrinkles at the elbow after wearing it for 5 mins around the house. Just did not look good to me.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Maryam - the Lake Forest IL store had several slate ruffle trenches yesterday, also a couple in the khaki (which I got last week in a 4). Not sure of sizes but wouldn't hurt to call.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Ashley: I go one size up for petite pants. HTH :)

    THank you !

    ReplyDelete
  68. @Ruffles
They did have 5 tajmahal necklaces in stock this morning and i tried to get them all, but 2 disappeared by the time i checked out. I ended up with 3 !
I wanted to offer the extra ones (2)here. So, if anyone wants it email me. First come first serve.
I hope the order wont get cancelled

    ReplyDelete
  69. Crewcuts: Just got an email that Crewcuts items ship free "for a limited time"--no code needed. This is in addition to markdowns on certain kids' swimwear online (didn't say whether they are also marked down in store).

    ReplyDelete
  70. Captain Crew,

Yes, I agree the soiree jacket wrinkles very easily and for a fancy jacket the two do not go together! There is a reason it is marked down as my favorite PS says...items that go to super sale do so for a reason!

    ReplyDelete
  71. thanks for all the responses on the Twyla heels, ladies! I think I'm going to get the Faye midheels, instead!

    ReplyDelete
  72. For those of you who love the regular jcrew vintage slim jeans, the factory stores have a VERY GOOD version of them for $69.50...they actually fit me better than the regular vintage slims! I stopped by today looking for a cheap-o belt (found it...extra 30% off accessories) and was very pleasantly surprised by these jeans.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Mags - I was at KOP today too! I saw the shorts there and I tried them on but I didn't like the colors on me. Thanks for the heads up though, I really appreciate it :)

    ReplyDelete
  74. Captain Crew, thanks for pointing out the wrinkles on the soiree blazer. I was contemplating it but when I look at the model shots I can see the arm wrinkles when her arm is straight. I do not like the wrinkled look for a dressier jacket.

  77. Amanda--I am glad you are going to rethink the twyla--definitely wouldnt recommend it. I bought a pair last summer, wore it once for a few hrs--it was so uncomfortable that I ended up selling it back on ebay as euc. They are really cute though, but for all that money it should be more comfortable.

I know we have all had our fair share of issues with jcrew shoes, but I think I have finally found a pair that is quite comfortable...Peep-toe slingback Mary Janes. I see they have gone down in price, I got mine when they were on sale for 169.99 plus 20%...they are now 129.99 but not as much as a selection in color anymore. I can wear these shoes during my commute to work and am fine. definitely the best pair of jcrew shoes that i have, and I have received tons of compliments on them. cute and comfortable...cant beat that.

lilac--absolutely agree with you about the birch suit--love it. I bought both pieces with the 20% off coupon so I dont feel like I paid full price anyway--but thinking it may have been worth it. The fit is lovely --for both pieces. And they look great separated with different pieces. I work the jacket with white vintage matchstick jeans and I have worn the skirt with a nice top and cardigan. Absolutely a great purchase for the summer.

  80. Those of you that bought the soiree jacket did you have to up a size? I find I have to go up a size in the jackets (they seem to be more fitted and I have large arms so sometimes the arms are tight). But there is only my normal size available at the moment and not a size up.
