Anon -- I've come to the conclusion it's random (for us shoppers anyway), if you mean what days of the week or month J. Crew chooses for its promotion/sale releases. If you mean what time they come out, I've noticed that it's in the early morning (generally around 2 am). HTH!

ReplyDeleteI have several items that I purchased over 60 days ago. I bought all of these items not knowing exactly how I would style or wear them and have ended up never ever wearing. The receipts say that after 60 days I can get a merchandise credit for those items. Does anyone know what the means? I assume that comes in the form of a gift card? I used to work at the GAP and they had a weird thing that you would have for a check like merchandise credit to come in the mail before you could use it (but I think that was only if you didn't have the receipt) Anyway, any input would be appreciated, as I am planning to visit a B&M tomorrow.

ReplyDeleteLyssa - I took the same size in the double serge pencil skirt as I usually do in skirts at JCrew. The odd thing though is that I tried on the persimmon and it was tighter than the bright blue that I bought. So unfortunately the same size can still fit differently.

ReplyDeleteI love the Glenbrae! Extremely comfortable, to my surprise given the tall heels. I also like the worn look. It is absolutely true that they say it is a pair of walking boots! BUT the heels are just too tall for me - I am a little taller than 5'7", Asian and do feel like a giant standing next to my fellow Asians, seriously. I have never owned shoes with heels that tall and I am just not use to them.

ReplyDeleteThank you all for your take on the ivory turtles. I normally wear a tank or cami under my sweaters, just didn't want a sweater that was super sheer. I am super pale, so too sheer of ivory sweaters look really bad on me. I think i will order one of the merinos in a darker color and an ivory in the dream. Leslie, I think the one i tried on in the store must have had something wrong with it, the sleeves were what were tight, and I don't have unusually large arms.

I tried the jacket at the store and the sleeves were kind of short on me. I thought this is a long sleeve jacket. ReplyDeleteI bought a pair of Lulu heels when the B&Ms had the big 50% FS blow- out sale. While the shoes are comfy, they are poorly constructed. First off, the right shoes makes a squishy sound when I walk. I heard this can be fixed by sprinkling baby powder on the inside of the shoe but I haven't tried it yet. Secondly, the leather on the left shoe is not properly attached around the heel part of the shoe. You can't really tell unless you look at them very closely so it's not too much of an issue. If I had bought this in a B&M or online for full price I would have sent them back but since I only paid about $40 and the FS I can't complain too much. I don't wear them much for fear that they might come apart but when I do I get lots of compliments. I suspect that the falts are very comfy but may have the same issues with the leather.

I was in my Canton, CT store today and scoped out some sale items. I saw a handful of the floppy flower astrids, lots of xs/s pantent leather belts (12.99 with 30% off in dusty rose, beige, yellow, and brown) lots of candy tees, some leas left in snow and navy, and surprisingly 2 cashmere heirloom henleys on the sale rack in medium. beautiful sweater, i tried it on but couldn't justify buying it. it was marked at 129.99 with 30% off.

ReplyDeleteBug Pin: I have noticed that at times the last couple of weeks. Some sites aren't allowing their pictures to be clipped at all, but I have had some issues on other sites that normally allow it, as well. I think it has something to do with Polyvore and not the site you are clipping from...like Polyvore is having issues with their clipping feature. I have attributed it to all the recent changes they've made updating the Polyvore site. I actually now save pictures from those sites onto my computer and then upload them to Polyvore myself.

ReplyDeleteI just received my Harriett and I have to agree with Gwen, it has too much fabric. It is basically a straight cut jacket, with a belt to cinch with waist. Because the waist is not tailored, you end up "cinching" a ton of extra fabric! I think it was gigiofca who previously described it as a "bathrobe"...I have to say that is a pretty accurate description!
In addition, the coat fit TTS in the body, but I found it to be small in the shoulders (and I don't have very broad shoulders). I was only wearing a thin t-shirt; there is no way I could have worn much of a sweater under the coat.
I also agree with Gwen on the fabric; it is not as nice as some other JC coats. I ordered the Shipley at the same time as the Harriet and I am keeping that one instead. The fabric is *much* nicer. HTH!
