  1. My mom had wanted the Cashmere-blend popover poncho in stripe Item: BB015 and I got her two colors as gifts. She briefly wore them over the holidays and they both pilled within a few hours. The black and white, especially, looks raggedy. I was going to bring them to my store and see if they would give me a credit at least. I’m beginning to feel funny about it, but they weren’t so cheap that they should just be thrown out.
For the most part customer service this season has been excellent. I feel bad that my mom wanted these ponchos so much and was not happy with the fabric.
Would you hesitate bringing them back or just do it?

    1. Bring them back! They should be evaluating their quality and why returns are happening. If we don’t say anything it will continue to happen. They really need to evaluate quality. Buying for me and having poor quality Is one thing but buying a gift is even worse. I don’t doubt they will refund you. I have sent stuff back and on a paper would write damaged item do not resell. They need to hear from customers!

    3. I brought them back and explained right away what the issue was and asked if I could get store credit. It was very obvious they were not worn much but still pilled and the associate didn’t even blink. I didn’t want to push for my money back. It doesn’t matter, the credit will get used.

  2. I agree with Kate. I would bring it back, requesting to speak with a manager about damaged items before explaining to an SA. I think they will do the return with ease. Let us know!

  4. Hi all, any thoughts on Alps puffer jacket with PrimaLoft® Item BA595. Seems to NOT on final sale and 60 off. They do have xs in black. But it sounds big/large according to reviews! Thanks!

    1. I grabbed one last week at 60% off plus the 20% and NOT final sale. Should arrive tomorrow. I ordered one size down per reviews. I live in puffers from November thru March so would love a different color/silhouette to add to my rotation. I hope it works out but I was mostly so happy to get a good sale price and still be able to return it.

    2. Thanks! I think I would need a xxs but they did not have it! Idk why I did not notice it last week during the sale but I got it 60 plus 15. So $54 for the black color! I feel good as it’s not final sale so easy to bring back!

    3. I'll post a review if mine comes tomorrow. Think I paid right around $50 too, I bought the dark green. Only thing that worries me is some reviews said it was noisy and made lots of crunchy/crinkly noise (weird).

  5. Also the cashmere track pants vent! I got them via a store in xs. Wore them yesterday for work form home( staycation week to catch up). By evening they stretched out a lot and pilled in the front. Now if they were $30 I would say fine. They feel great! But at $103 on sale I am not sure I am willing to keep. I do like the style! Will prob take back or do chat and show pics! Very sad!

  7. Hi Guys,
Just got an email from J.Crew saying that January 23 their Flatiron store (Colorado) will close. That store is only a couple of miles from the Marshall fire area, where ~1000 houses burned down less than a week ago. While the store was not affected by the fire, I imagine that some of the people working there may have.
    Really poor timing, J.Crew.

    1. First, tragic and my heart goes out to all affected by the fires. Second, awful timing JCrew. Not a good decision a selfish corporate move.

    2. Is it possible that maybe they can’t staff the store due to the fires?

      Delete
    3. If that is the case they did a terrible job writing that email, which basically says "We are closing the Flatiron store, come shop to the Cherry Creek store or shop online" No mention to the fire.

    4. Incognita, completely agree with your sentiments. Keep in mind they employ “copywriters from space “ as wellfred always posts, so maybe it was one of them that was given the task to write the email. Again very sorry.

    5. I heard there will be multiple store closing in PSW, Southwest and Cali this year. The oldest JCREW stroe in La in the grove is closing this month, and rumor is the one on the Promenade will close. The store closed to me in AZ is also rumored to close this year.

  8. This in reference to the dresses with the square neck. Coverups for swimwear and all others included. Why oh why would I want to throw on one of these short unattractive dresses that’s a cross between a maternity outfit and cutesy little outfit. Classics JCrew do you remember the classics? Style can only accommodate small busts. Ugh

    1. Oh I can’t wear those and I have a small chest. I just like my big button downs as coverups. The endless shirt was almost perfect for that. Mine was a little small on me in a 0 so my daughter took it but if they made that one again I’d get it. Works as a coverup or throw it over shorts or jeans, or palazzo type pants. I like it much better than the cotton linen cover up they made which is a weird length.
