This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.

So if you have recently purchased, or stopped by a J.Crew store to try on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.

In particular, if you could mention a few of the noteworthy details like fit, size, fabric, and the like— that would be fantastic! Thanks in advance! :)

  1. With few exceptions, most of my shorts from the past two years look like garbage. I went through the same thing last spring. I have a few from last year I haven’t worn for various reasons, but I would like to find a pair of casual black (or Chambray) that wash well.
The surprise winner is a pair of Chambray pull on shorts from last summer from Jcrew factory, but my other factory shorts look garbage.
I had the Madewell pull on shorts and loved them but they were unwearable after one wash.

    1. I have nice chambray shorts from Gap that have held up really well, but I think they're old enough that they're from a time when it was easier to find quality pieces. Banana had some cute shorts in the window when I drove past the other day.

    2. I realized I don’t need Chambray...I,have two. I,might be able to,get by but don’t have the black shorts I’d live in. (I have several but the tie waist and high rise seersucker are a little “dressy” for softball tournaments and lounging.
I’ll check banana and gap though!

    3. Found a few at the gap, hadn’t even checked there. If they fit, great, if they wash well, even better.

    4. Boden sells Richmond shorts in black. I do not own those but reviews are very good. Boden is running 25% off until Thursday.

    5. Talbots has cute shorts right now in several lengths. 40 percent sale one item too. Use code "Summer." I am going to order a pair and see if they fit.

    6. Thanks for the additional suggestions. I don’t think Talbots works for me size wise but ill check both out.

  2. 40 percent off but sale prices are higher and I’m seeing quite a few exclusions.

    1. Yep, saw the higher prices too like the leopard calf hair slingback flats are now $109.99 vs. $60.99 when I bought them at 50% off sale. I posted on the other thread that stores will be doing 50% off sale and 40% off full price in store today. I sometimes find that exclusions online don’t apply to in store. I purchased Blue Ratti linen pants last night with 40% off promo since store was honoring new promo a day early, so might be worth ordering or checking with a store if there’s something you want. I ordered Point Sur linen blend shorts in red during a sale and I’ve only washed once (on cold and hang to dry), and they look really good. I know it’s just one wash. but hoping that’s a good sign about wear. There’s a cotton chambray version of the seaside short by Point Sur that has really good reviews. Good luck on your hunt for shorts!

    2. Yes, I am wearing the peony mocs today and my coworker asked about them. When I went to send her the link I was shocked at the prices. But again, the average shopper would not know this and may be happy to pay 40% off $99.99.

    3. I was at the store yesterday and there was one pair of the peony mocs (size 11, I think) - the box was marked $44.99. The price fluctuations are really infuriating. I'm constantly amazed at the prices of some of the popbacks. This is old stuff - don't increase the price, get rid of it already!

    4. Tara, thanks, I like those a lot but don’t love the colors. Might consider the olive or the red.

  4. I’m getting the dreaded Jcrew website experiencing problems come back later😂

  5. I received the Cora buckle slides in suede. Black. The toe opening is a little tight but I know it will give. Fit is TTS. They look nice. The buckle hardware is not functional but it’s gold which is difficult to tell from the online pic. This works for me and I prefer it to silver.

    1. They are a nice looking shoe. Glad to know about the metal, it is always difficult for me to tell on their site.

  6. My suede driving mocs in cerise arrived. I ordered up 1/2 size after the sapphire blue pair seemed a bit short in my regular size. They were too big! Very nice CS ordered me a smaller pair and matched the price I paid including my Rewards ($19). The red pair seemed so much wider than the blue. They would work as house slippers in the bigger size, but I wouldn't get to wear them out of the house. So I went smaller.

    1. I received my cerise driving mocs today, too. I LOVE the color! I now have 3 pairs: cerise, sapphire and peony. IMO they fit tts for this style. I have a ridiculous number of pairs of driving mocs in many different brands. They’re always slightly snug when brand new, but stretch a bit with wear.

    2. Is the cerise the usually orangey red? Or more red? I’d buy them if more red, I don’t need another orangey red pair. I like the peony but the color doesn’t work well on me and I don’t wear bright blue

    3. Yes, they are a bit less orange than I expected based on other J Crew shoes in 'cerise'.

    4. Also not as bright as the sapphire.

  7. @Suz Has - The cerise mocs are definitely red, not orange, but they’re a warm, orangish red, not a blue red or true red. The color is very close to the cerise perfect tee, but slightly more muted.
