Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. I received the no. 2 pencil skirt in geometric dot and the reviews are correct - it is running 1-1.5 sizes large. It is well made and good quality, but I'll be returning. A size smaller is available online but FS, but I called CS for an exchange and they agreed to honor the price I paid and waive FS. This seems different from other people's experiences with PAs/sale exchanges? I had absolutely no problem.

  2. Planning to order the COLLECTION SILK-TWILL BUTTON-UP SHIRT IN JUNGLE PRINT L1856. As I’ll be ordering online I asked Customer Service for measurements. This is their reply:

Glad to see you are interested in this beautiful top! We don't actually have specific measurements on hand for this item, so please refer to our general sizing guide.

Don't hesitate to reach out if you need any further assistance!

I always loved that you could ask them for measurements. I hope that this is a one off. Anyone else have the same experience?

    1. I did not buy this top, but it fit in my smaller size 4. I am a 6 in the perfect shirt, the silk Blythe. I have larger wide shoulders but am not too busty.

    2. @fleur de lys, measurements for 4 and 6 are as follows:
      - The chest below arm hole is 38 1/2 , 39 ½
      - The waist is 35 3/4 , 36 ¾
      - Across the shoulder is 15 1/4 , 15 ½
      - From the highest point of the shoulder it is 26 3/4 for both.

      HTH!

  3. FYI, I called yesterday and maybe this has already been discussed but now they are not matching in-store pricing on sale items either. I've always had luck in the past that if the store is running an additional percent off sale, they will match that online. For about the past year or so they call the store and "verify" while I'm on the phone, but they do it. They're making it really difficult to shop there anymore, I feel like I've spent several years learning how to shop promotions, etc. at J.Crew and now I'm going to have to relearn everything. I feel like one of the reasons I like J.Crew is I feel confident when I buy something I'm not going to see it at a lower price in two weeks and have to either hassle with a return/rebuy or be stuck with it. I don't feel that way anymore...

  4. No visit planned but my latest orders all arrived this afternoon (shipped of course in separate packages) and what I thought were my $27 white leather Tretorn score are actually the yellow webbed nylon Tretorns (in my size, but...ugh). I'll be curious if anything changes when I call CS - usually they pre-return and tell me to send back/drop in to the store and return.

I also got an order without a packing slip- most had slips but one did not.

  5. I have some returns so I will try to go.

Keeps: (probably) the Ruffle tiered maxi dress in sofia stripe.
Dreamy short-sleeve cotton pajama set in stripe
    Bristol crossbody

Returns: Point Sur short-sleeve popover shirt in cotton dobby.
J.Crew X Abigail Borg silk slip skirt in blue print (bought this to hook up with the matching top and it fits perfectly but I think it's more print than I like)
TIERED POPOVER DRESS IN STRIPED COTTON POPLIN (this was a total disaster on me - long sleeves, heavy lining, and I looked like a circus tent)
Chambray button-up shirt with peplum (this was nice but wasn't great on me)

  6. I’m headed in today to do a store pick up. Ordered the white denim jacket (was thinking I might be able to get away with this at work this summer) and the Cora slides in embroidered print. I also just scored the ankle buckle sandals in leopard this morning, if only I could score the metallic version too because both would be perfect for a summer work outfit. Lots I love in the latest release (give me all the midi skirts! And the tie waist buttons downs!) but my new house will be ready in a few short weeks so my money is going towards door handles and lamps, ha!

  7. Stopped in for returns. Two items had rewards applied, so contacted CS in store. Apparently there’s fine print in the rewards program that says you forfeit the reward if you return the item. Told her it’s a lousy policy given issues with fit and quality. Also told her that I’m a part of loyalty programs with other retailers like Nordstrom & you don’t lose the rewards if you need to return or exchange. Anyway, she sent an e-gift card for the amount of the rewards. She said she would share the feedback.

    1. Wow that was nice of her. I lose my rewards when I make a return, was told the same thing at the store when I didn't get back as much as I thought I would. I agree it's a crappy policy.

    2. I have the tiger print silk blouse that I have been contemplating a return but don't want to lose my reward. I learned the hard way about the rewards/returns and now try very hard to use it on a absolute purchase, which I thought my shirt was!!

  8. There are tons of items in the sale section, so I foresee a percentage off soon. Trying to stay strong!
In the meantime, I have been stalking the Stubbs and Wootton celebrate loafers to no avail, they are just not popping back! If anybody sees them as a return at their stores in 8.5 or 9, or even an 8, can you please let me know? TIA!

  9. I stopped into Madewell yesterday. I had a return and this was my first purchase and stop into a store. I ordered the button front skirt. It was cute but the fabric was open between buttons which made me uncomfortable wearing it, even casually. However, lots of cute stuff in store. I absolutely love the side button skirt in rainbow stripe - the fabric is sewed shut between each button until a few inches from the hem. Perfect! Will be darling to wear in europe and I think I can wear to work too. The majority of items at Madewell don’t suit me but there seem to be a few items I like. I’ll keep perusing their site every once in a while.

  10. I received an extra percentage off code in an email but no indication when it expires. Has anyone been able to find an expiration date? I’m contemplating another pair of shoes I don’t need but can only use the code once and don’t want to “waste” it.

  11. Not motivated. Afraid of breaking out in rash from exposure to synthetic fabrics.

  12. Went to try on the Open V Neck Top in Ratti Tropical Toile. Not as vibrant in IRL, and the cheap construction w the elastic-y sleeves was a dealbreaker for me. Promising prints in this rollout, but the execution continues to disappoint.

    1. Thanks ruffles. That's exactly what I expected and love the print. Shame.
