Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. Anyone have the quilted downtown field jacket in Liberty garden print or tried it on? It looks great on the model unzipped but it looks quite short and boxy and the model looks wide when it's zipped up. I always liked the look of the field jacket in the plain olive or navy color but they don't look as wide as this patterned one. Wondering if the fit is different from the plain color ones or it's just the print playing tricks on my eyes.

    1. eeps, my jacket arrives today. I'll let you know about the fit once I get home to try it. I'm hoping it is not short & wide! Thankfully it was not final sale when I ordered it.

    2. I don’t find it too boxy at all. It also has snaps in the back with 2 settings so you can cinch it in a little bit if you want. I am normally a S in Tippi sweaters and found the S way too wide in the sleeves and a bit loose in the body so I took an XS in the jacket. It’s a tiny bit tight over the chest (I’m busty) but perfect everywhere else. Hope that helps!

    3. I don’t find it too short or too boxy at all. I took my usual xxs size and I love it. It’s not tight or too loose anywhere on me. I wear it open and zipped. It’s a pretty jacket.

    4. I received mine today and I’m not crazy about the fit. Like Alyssa, I took a small and the sleeves are a bit wide and long and the body is a bit wide. The snaps barely made a change when I snapped it tighter at the waist, so maybe I need to size down but the shoulders are just right in the small. I’m leaving for Portugal this week and was going to use it as my light jacket, but I’m undecided about the fit. I might leave it at home and see how I feel about it after the trip. The print is very pretty but the fit issue is nagging me.

    5. eeps, same. I think it’s gohng back. Ordered usual field jacket size XS. Fits in shoulder area but otherwise unflattering. Way too large everywhere else. Snaps at waist didn’t help. Looked great on my sister (size S in field jackets) but she couldn’t move her arms! So sad because it’s beautifully made and the price was great but it really looked awful on me.

    6. @shopalot - glad I'm not the only one! I was beginning to think maybe I should settle because the price was so good. I was just admiring all my Liberty x JC items and thinking about the sticker shock I got at the Liberty store in London. Sometimes, we're very lucky! I bet if anyone in the UK saw how much I paid for this jacket, they'd tell me I'm stupid to consider returning it.

    7. I tried on a Liberty shirt when I was there in December. It didn't fit me like the J Crew ones do, plus with the exchange rate, it would have been pretty expensive so I passed. Don't you just love collecting all of the gorgeous prints? I'm sorry I have to return the jacket but I know I'll never wear it.

    8. I bought this jacket in a medium(should have ordered small) & can’t decide about the fit. I tried it on over white denim & hated it - looked short, wide & boxy the snaps on the waist don’t do much to make it look more fitted. The print is very pretty & I only paid $54 so I may keep it & wear it open

  2. VPS sent me previews earlier. Sorry can’t post images or item numbers. Lots of white, blue and white striped wide wide leg jumpsuit, yellow dresses, a tangerine colored one. Overalls ugh, but with a beautiful peasant type looking print blouse underneath (color is unidentifiable) Olive green v neck sweater chunky style. White pants with a tie not overly wide legged from what I am able to see. Perhaps line and pretty. Sorry for the lack of info

J.Crew Summer is on its way! May's big theme is Garden Party, inspired by English gardens and perfect flower beds with summery pops of blue, yellow, and bright peony. Linen, colored denim, fun florals, and embroidery make bold appearances and look great merchandised together for a bright, sunny statement! There are some adorable mother/daughter hook-ups for Mother's Day too! Just below is a sneak peek of what's to come, so mark your calendar because the next roll out will be debuting online on Tuesday, April 16th! If you have any questions about the pieces or would like to pre-order anything, I'm here to help!

  3. Visited store on N. Michigan since I was in town for a conference. No purchase, but I ordered Liberty chamomile floral sleeveless dress after seeing the print in store. I’m a Liberty fan and reviews are good, so looking forward to wearing now that it’s springtime.
