Weekly Share: Other JCrew-like Retailers

This is the weekly "Other JCrew-like Retailers" post (similar to the "Off On A Tangent" posts), where we can share our finds from other retailers that have offerings similar to J.Crew (like Anthropologie, LE Canvas, Gap, BR, Talbots, Ann Taylor, and the like.)

If you have recently encountered items that are similar to J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Please feel free to share your story on almost any topic— including experiences with certain merchandise pieces, promotions/ offers, in-store visits, transactions with store associates, etc.

  1. Anyone else enjoy browsing/buying/consigning from TheRealReal?

    1. i browse way more than buying or consigning. i'd buy more if the shipping cost wasn't so high, and if they let you return handbags. i've consigned a few things and i don't understand how they make the call on whether or not they accept it. they've turned down some very nice vince and michael kors pieces i wanted to consign, yet some of the items they do sell have tears, pills, or are missing tags and/or fabric information.

    2. Monica,
I have consigned a lot with them. The payouts are low but to their credit, all my stuff has sold quickly, much quicker than Thredup. I have also experienced good customer service from them, but know that is not everyone's experience. I've also bought from them (I used someone's referral link so I had a $25 credit to spend and found something nice) and the item came in pristine condition and super fast. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have about the site, so feel free to drop me an email or DM me on Insta.

    3. Thanks! I have bought a few things and recently sent a pair of shoes off for consignment. Like Lizzie said, their shipping costs are definitely a deterrent, so I mostly window shop. 1stdibs is the other one I could endlessly scroll through...

  2. Kate Spade launched their new designs under the new designer, Nicola. Not much I like (I’ve been a devoted KS customer for years). Makes me desperate for wanting jcrew to survive this bumpy patch! KS will show in fashion week next Friday for those interested.

  3. On Nordstrom Rack's site for Valentine's Day gifts if you scroll down you will see a girl in a cute white blouse with lips and a true red pleated skirt. The blouse reminds me a little bit of Jcrew's Kisses Tee. Love that tee in fact I purchased a few at the time. Looks very cute. There are cute camis listed which are cheap and yes they are poly but for the most part so are Jcrew's. Another company listed as Bunch Lounge or something has some cute cheap blouses with hearts for $29.99 Have no idea what the quality is like but for a one day event it's not bad.
