Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. I bit this morning. 60% off is hard to resist. Picked up a demi crop jean that came back in stock for $24 and the snake mules for $30.

Gotta admit, a large part of me wants to get what I can while I can in case we get a black "thank you - we tried" screen as the company goes dark early next year...

    1. Same...and I’m still finding some pieces that are top notch (though I admittedly have to kiss more frogs than I would like in order to do so).

      Delete
    2. Cheri, me too. I feel the urge to stock up on the things I love while I still can and 60% off is a good enough reason.

      Delete
    3. Damn you guys are tempting me with the mules. Just not sure if they'll work for me. And the Demi crop jean too.

      Delete
    4. Suz, I got the mules to go with the gray demi crop jeans I have and love...and since I have and love those I figured I'd try these for $24. I don't wear them as much as my boyfriends or even my skinnies so I'm not willing to invest a lot in that shape yet. It's still new to me. You have the snake boots! I wear those boots in black with this style jeans, bought them together in store :)

Do I want the cropped knit pant? Anyone?

      Delete
    5. I ordered the cropped knit pant in black last week. Small was the smallest and they might be huge but I'm really just going to use them as loungewear. For the price I figured it's no different then wearing leggings or sweats around the house and more presentable.

      Delete
    6. Also I've had a few pairs of Demi boot and either sold or returned them. I had spent a fortune on Stevie ex rocker ones and tried everything, let down the hems, frayed the hems, etc and finally sold them at a loss. I think they were just a tiny bit too short for me. The darker ones on the website for $24 I'd have to get in tall.

      Delete
    7. That's the push I needed. Okay, I'm ordering XXS.

      Delete
    8. Reviews do say they run big so I was considering ordering the XXS but I know I'd rather them be loose for hanging aroun than tight on my butt.

      Delete
    9. You DEFINTELY would need the tall. I may have been happier with a tall but wanted instant gratification. For this new final sale order, I just got the regular since I know they work with my boots shaft height.

I lost a few pounds and was really happy they had an XXS!

    10. A unicorn popback. Ordered Chateau Parka for $34 in heather dusk. It’s the 2017 version. Hoping it ships and fits. Orders still trickling in and shipping.

      Delete
    11. Tara that's crazy. They canceled my older black chateau parka for my daughter. Grrrr

      Delete
    12. I know right! Oh no! What a disappointment on the cancellation. I won’t be surprised if I receive the dreaded “wish we had enough.”

    13. I went for it and ordered the jeans and the Point Sur wide leg with patch pockets also in tall. I prefer ankle length to a true crop and even though I've had wide leg issues in the past I always get compliments. For the price it's worth the shot.

      Delete
    14. Yay, go you. Honestly, these prices are making me look at everything with new eyes. I wish I tried on all this stuff in store. Le sigh.

  3. Oversized topcoat in English herringbone wool went on sale and with a 15% off code it was $58.40. Had been patiently waiting for the topcoat to go in sale and this is even better than I expected.

    1. Thanks for pointing this out. That’s even cheaper than the 50% off outerwear error from earlier in the week. Calling for my PA now. At that price, the coat is more than worth it!

      Delete
    2. Wow! Thanks, Fleur de lys., for pointing this out How did I miss this one!?

      Delete
    3. Saw that early this morning! Put it in my cart and took it out again :) I just wouldn't wear a coat like that, but would love to see on some JCAs.

    4. I was on the fence about the camel topcoat this AM and by the time I got to work, it had sold out in my size. Shame - it looks beautiful and the reviews are very good.

      Delete
    5. I was up all night packing gifts and saw the coat before falling asleep. I ordered it for me and two relatives. Hopefully it's good, I see many sizes sold out now.

By the way J. Crew, you're not helping me with the late shipping. Two gifts will definitely not make the box having to go out to arrive on time.

      Delete
    6. Elizabeth I have the coat thanks to ordering it earlier (I have so many returns to make on things I scored at a lower price point). It’s great! It’s TTS for me and I like that the camel color is a touch yellower than a traditional camel, which gives it more visual interest in my opinion. It’s perfect on its own for most SoCal winter days, but has room enough to go over a substantial sweater or layers of it actually cools down below 50 at night.

      Delete
    7. Shanni thanks for that. I wanted both colors because I pretty much buy anything in navy and I thought the camel color would be cute in spring.

      Delete
    8. After all my protests that I don’t need more coats, I ordered the oversized topcoat in English herringbone on both camel and navy early Saturday morning (middle of the night) using the 60% off code “FRIDAY.” For some reason, there was a nearly full range of sizes available at that time. I rationalized that I can surely sell them in Poshmark for more than I paid, if I don’t like them. But I think they’ll be perfect for southern winters.

      Delete
  4. In my 5am shopping haze I forgot to use my other 15% coupon but I picked up the oversized topcoat in check tweed for $56 and the green Daphne topcoat for half off...figured I'll see if the coat is worth all of the fuss. Neither was FS so taking my chances.

I probably won't be visiting the store this weekend - the closer we get to Christmas the less inclined I am to head to the mall.

    1. wellfedfred, it's a good thing I stocked up when J Crew made those delightful holiday tees. So over the word tees/sweatshirts and drink tees. Even Factory has nothing festive in the tee dept.

    2. I thought I was the only one. I really dislike all the word tees and sweatshirts. i just don't like everyone having to 'read" my top. maybe it is just me.....

      Delete
    3. I don’t mind a word tee or two, but I feel like J.Crew designers are putting in zero effort with tees lately. Just throw on some random words and call it a day. I’m regretting giving away my holiday deer tee from a few years ago.

    4. I wore my prized snowflake tee earlier in the week - the pearl gray one w the embroidered ivory satin snowflake. Many compliments. I treat it w unicorn tears but I will be devastated when it inevitably ends up in taters w no hope of replacement.

    5. Ruffles, I know what you mean. I felt the same way about my metallic striped tissue tees from around 2007. I loved that tee so much. I had it in ivory with gold stripes, black with gold stripes and gray with silver stripes. I finally tossed them because they were falling apart, but I still mourn them.

  6. I guess I am going to drive to Factory and Retail stores this weekend to do partial returns. I wanted to do them all at once to save myself some driving, but apparently the rest of my orders are not going to arrive any time soon. I called again this morning and got no information. I was told some things were just "put on the truck". I hope the truck isn't driving around for 2 weeks. I'm sure all I have to do is make the two long-ish drives to do returns and the rest of my orders will be waiting on the doorstep when I get home.

  7. I called and waited on hold for a PA this time. Since almost nothing has shipped she was very kind and did all my orders. I wish I would have asked for an email with the totals but I'm not going to push my luck.

I didn't realize the $50 off $150 could be used in conjunction with another promo since it's essentially a gift card, so I'm waiting to see if my middle girl wants any of the coats since the chateau I ordered for her was canceled.

I'd buy the burgundy check plaid single breasted topcoat if it pops back. The oversized check is too similar to the olive green and black check from two years ago. Too bad because it's a great deal!

    1. I also have a bunch of items in my cart but I'm not pulling the trigger yet. Final, sale can be tricky.
Do I need the tie waist black pants for $40? The side button turtleneck for me and my girls for $21? I'm tempted by the raw hem Demi boot jeans for $24 but do I need another pair of jeans I might not love?

      Delete
    2. May I offer my opinion? ;) Here goes -
If the tie waist pants are final sale - no. You have plenty of black pants and don't need "just another pair". Only a fabulous pair. I paid $5.99 for the turtleneck during a flash sale and like it, but it is strictly for when I'm feeling preppy. The fabric is substantial, and it washes great. If you know you like that cut jean, then yes, steal.

      Delete
    3. You're right! I might go to the store this morning and see if any of these things can be tried on, otherwise no.

      Delete
    4. I agree re: the tie waist pants. I have the olive and they're great pants. Skip the jeans!

      Delete
    5. don't do final sale. this has always been bad for me . big waste of $$ . useless you are 110% positive about item .look in your closet and wear what you already have. IMO. I am vowing now to not order until after xmas.

    6. I have the button neck turtleneck in two colors - the navy/red and ivory/navy. But somehow I bought them right when they came out at $8, which was amazing. I wear and like them. They are a substantial cotton, not drapey. The neck is a little hard to get right, I wear with two buttons open. But I have a short neck, so YMMMV. The small (my usual) fits well, I tried on the medium and it make me look bigger. The sleeves are not full length. I cold washed and hung dry and they still look good. I wonder why the price is all over the place on this top?

      Delete
    7. Funny Cheritheberry and Anne said two different things. But the black pants were not a need for me. The wide leg ones I had cropped fit a little nicer.

I'm not going to buy the turtleneck for $20 if everyone else paid under $10! Lol

      Delete
    8. Keep an eye on the button neck, I bet you will see the price drop again. I would not have felt like I overpaid at $20, the $8 was a crazy bargain. I like the navy one with red stripes best, worn with my green Foundry pants and loafers. Also with my darkest wash jeans.

      Delete
    9. I'm pretty much a strictly black and white or black and red girl. I allowed myself a few touches of navy but... well...I'm a little wacky.

  8. ARRGH this is so frustrating! I want to quit JC but I can't! I just finished receiving my BF/CM orders and I swore I was going to stay away until the debacle has been sorted. But I've had my eye on the oversized topcoat in check tweed since it came out and it's impossible to resist at $56 - and it's not FS!! Also picked up two Reeds sweaters - neither are FS and the Reeds x JC cable knit crewneck was very cute in person, though I am not a fan of orange. Haven't seen the Reeds X JC side button swing sweater in person but at $35.xx I will try. I used my last catalog promo code so I really hope they don't dip sale to 70% off before Dec. 25.

    1. eeps, what size did you go for in the check coat? I'm a 6 mostly in blazers but tried a 4 in the coat - there's only one review online that said it ran really large and I didn't feel like trying multiple sizes.

      Delete
    2. not ordering. BF and CM orders should be here today. final sale at 60% off is nice...but I am not ordering anymore until after xmas. I do not want to be waiting for pkgs this long ever again..

      Delete
    3. @ Anne: I am normally a size 2 in JC blazers and I did see that review (which wasn't that helpful). Since it's a topcoat and shouldn't be that warm, I plan to wear sweaters under so I am not worried about it being too big. So I ordered a size 4 to make sure it can accommodate my broad shoulders in a thick sweater. Given the sizing issue, I wouldn't have bought it if it were FS though.

      Delete
    4. Those are very good prices! The topcoat looks great. I was tempted, but I truly don’t need more coats, so I reluctantly passed in it.

  10. I was hoping to make only one trip into a store this month to do returns, but seeing as most of the things I've ordered over the past three weeks haven't shipped yet, I'll need to pop in to return a few things I have actually received. I won't be looking around while I'm there as I'm quite irritated with J.Crew this season. OT, if anyone is interested, M.Gemi is having a sample sale in Boston today (11-7) and tomorrow (10-4) at the Landmark Center near Fenway. I went yesterday and scored great deals!

  12. Went to the store for the returns, the red white and blue striped button down and embellished fair isle. I,like the patched boyfriend jeans so much I'm keeping tall and regular, sometimes I like to roll instead of just cuff and for the price I can't resist.

Tried on the tie waist pants in black, size 00. I was considering these but I feel like the length is a little odd and as Cheritheberry said, I have lots of black pants.

Tried on the button front Demi boot jeans in the black (might be called gray) in size 26, they were way too big. Found another pair of Demi boot in size 24. I liked them but a little short and tight, although they def fit. Still on the fence about the tall 25 in the dark wash Demi boot. They might be too big.

Some of the costs we see online on sale are "full price."

Store was 40% off. No additional off sale. I heard someone ask and the assoc told them nothing additional, but I saw the Yes no sweater and decided to ask at the register. I quietly asked the assoc (I think he might be some type of mgr but not sure) "are you matching the online 60% off sale) and he did without blinking an eye. Of course it would have been better if there was more I wanted in store but nope.

FWIW, I like the yes no sweater. Yes it's 60/40 wool nylon and it's thick and stiff. I sized up to a medium (small just fit over a flannel button down) and I wanted it to fit loosely. I might wear it with the black and red checked flannel or other plaid under and loose BF jeans (or the red wide leg pants if they ever show up) for Christmas Day or whenever.

    1. Helpful report! I'm so glad you were able to try on the tie waist pants! And the jeans! (I took at 25 in the jeans). I'm glad you mentioned the patch boyfriend jean because I was eyeing them this morning and then got sidetracked (hello I've placed 3 orders today). How was sizing on those?
Sweater would only be cute as you intend to style it, IMHO.

    2. I love the patch boyfriend jean. Wrote about them in the past and posted pics on IG. my typical BF 25 fit perfectly as a slim boyfriend jean. Online they're too tight, IMO in the model pics. Mine are looser than that but not saggy in the booty. The tall size is lightly looser but not bad. You could prob size down if you have a thicker middle and skinny legs (like there are people who wear toothpicks with the legs loose, toothpicks are tight on my legs and sizing up only makes them loose in the crotch.) hope that helps.

Cheri what size do you take in toothpicks? Lately I almost always have to size down to a 24. 25 tends to be looser in the crotch (see above) but still tight on the leg. .

    3. I just left your insta and I'm ordering them now. I absolutely cannot stand the online picture and I didn't know If I needed to size up to get them to fit like a typical boyfriend, but didn't want them to fall off me, as a 25 is usually big and I need a belt anyway...

I've never tried J Crew toothpicks, I am good with my trusty J Brands, Paige Verdugo and Hudson Nico there. That DOES help. Thank you. Regular size 25, I'll give it a shot.

    5. Suz Has, I saw your first Instagram post about the jeans and ordered a pair for myself in early December. Of course I haven't received them yet, but I still ordered another pair during the recent 60% off. I prefer looser fitting, comfy jeans so I ordered my larger size. I appreciate your reviews and IRL pictures. I previously ordered the Charles wash slim boyfriend jeans after seeing your Instagram review and they're definitely favorites.

    6. Glad to help! I try to be as specific as possible when talking about fit!

    7. I have several pair of the slim boyfriend (purchased on super sale) in size 25. They fit when I put them on but immediately turn into droopy crotch pants that make the "fwup fwup" sound when I walk. So sorry I didn't try the 24. I cannot get them to shrink in the dryer! So no more slim boyfriends for me on final sale unless I have tried them on in the store first.

      Delete
    8. Shopalot, I haven't found the recent pairs I've bought to really stretch out much at all. As a matter of fact the Charles wash ones haven't stretched and I was hoping they would since I bought a 24 (and a 26).

  13. I ordered the other day. I used the 50% off, 15% that came in the catalog and they let me stack it with the $50 off $150! I feel like I made out like a bandit! I ordered the velour sweats in grey, a belt, a pair of slippers, a pair 10" toothpick jeans, a chambray shirt and a pair of leggings. My total with the $5 shipping to (supposedly) get it by Christmas made my total $118!

  15. Reporting back on the Yes No sweater. I'm not sure why I like it so much but I do, it's kind of quirky! I suggest sizing up. I got a medium to layer over button downs and even just over a tank it doesn't feel big. Tried it partially tucked into my boyfriend jeans with red patent Sophia pumps and it's adorable.

  16. Why are they back to 25% off from 40% and then 50%? I guess they will have less PAs and orders in general but picking one type of item or having some sort of count down with special offers would have been better had they been able to get their online ordering and shipping straightened out. Just a lack of a cohesive strategy overall, I wonder if the social media/catalog out performed expectations and the order fulfillment and actual product supply just couldn't keep up. A good case study for the business students out there.

    1. It can't be smart business practice to play games like this. I didn't check but I'm wondering if with the 25 off they're guaranteeing Christmas Delivery? That might make a difference to some people.

    2. Less percentage off, still final sale and some prices have gone up. Some popbacks though, and sizes are updated for a few items.

      Delete
    3. It looks like they have 40% off in store only, so maybe they want to steer traffic away from the website, as they can't keep up. (I still have a store, but but the inventory is so limited there, that online shopping and sales are preferable)

      Delete
    4. I saw that. The plaid topcoat is now available in my size but only 25% off. I guess this promo is meant for last minute or infrequent shoppers? Well I'm not biting!

    5. Glad I took advantage of the 60% yesterday that was excellent and I hope everyone got great deals. Online orders will come to a grinding halt w only 25% for two days and they can catch up on fulfillment. They are taking a beating in social media and CS as well these days, so it’s probably a deliberate and wise strategy.

      Delete
    6. It is smart. And I agree my store had limited stock of what I was interested in, but for holiday shoppers there might be just enough. Small gifty items, boxes of them. Good...fingers crossed they can turn this season around for them.

  17. I mentioned this the other day but surprisingly my Canada orders have been shipping quickly even BF ones and most have arrived faster than usual because they switched from Canada post to UPS. My order placed on Dec 5 arrived yesterday which is fast for Canada.
I had 3 BF orders stuck at the border since dec 3 but finally 2 were released yesterday and via ups will arrive Mon. The border delay wasn’t jcrews fault. CS said that a huge amount of BF orders were switched from Canada post to UPS and got stuck at the border so they started using UPS in a way that passes the border quickly (like Jcrew factory does- they don’t use i parcel). Which has been true of my recent orders. That is def costing Jcrew a lot more $$. I’m long winded but I’m trying to say that Jcrew is trying to fulfill orders as quickly as possible. Canada shipping on jcrews end (border issues aren’t their problem) has been smooth because we only get orders from the warehouse.
I’m sure that the US backlog got out of control because orders can be fulfilled from stores or warehouse. This year was the first time offering 50% off and with 60% off sales they must have underestimated the demand.
Hope things get worked out soon for the US orders.

    1. still we Canadians pay $12 for shipping. Gap and others its free over $50.
they did not change shipping to UPS until it was too late. again others had already changed. and the fact they are not answering emails/you can;t get through on the tele ..is frustrating so ....I do think J Crew is not off the hook with all the shipping debacles.
my eventual shipping through UPS was not smooth. they mixed up/spelling of my address "Parker St" and orders were delayed another two days. plus boxes/bags have been left/tossed at my front door . so not impressed with this either.\

  20. I had hoped with the reduced promo, thus lower sales volume, I would finally see my many orders get shipped. Nope. I have orders dated back to the 9th with no movement. I know others have worse dates but this is just so disappointing, knowing gifts I planed to have and wrap will not come close to arriving in time for Christmas in spite of the promised dates when the order was placed.

    1. I have one item scheduled to arrive Monday (wool Seavees) and one item scheduled to arrive Thursday (Liberty Betsy Ann floral skirt). Twelve(!) items have not yet shipped. I don’t think there’s much hope that they’ll arrive by the promised dates.

      Delete
    2. I’m fairly certain your items will arrive. VPS mentioned just about everything is being expedited via Next Day Air. My orders I know for certain and I know I haven’t been singled out on this.

    3. I have an order of eight (in-stock) items that was promised to be delivered by Dec 14th and six of those items haven't shipped yet. Dec 14th was yesterday... So I wouldn't count on items being delivered by promised delivery dates, unfortunately.

    4. For those of us that ordered items the first week of December thinking that would be plenty of time to be included in Christmas boxes, if it arrives on Christmas Eve instead of the 14th as promised, that means there's no time to overnight it in time for Christmas. This is just a really bad experience that I won't let J. Crew do to me again next year if they are still around.

      Delete
    5. Lynn, I had 2 items mailed on Thursday. One was sent via super slow mail innovations and the other UPS ground, so not everything is being expedited even when it's past the promised date.

  22. @Jeanne and others, very sorry to hear this. I had been given this information on Thursday. I did notice an issue where notifications of "being shipped" are not being sent out on orders I have placed even though they have been shipped. This is absurd. Again, coming from VPS. She mentioned verbatim on Thursday that they received a "memo" regarding the shipping nightmare and about the orders being expedited. The other nightmare is with returns(being posted as far as several weeks out now, not getting posted and them having to manually apply credits and refunds against tracking numbers. Wonder if anyone has called their credit card division "hotline" yet and worked things out. I haven't yet and intend to do so on Monday. I expect to be on the phone at least an hour because of errors, price adjustments, etc. Posted this before, but for those who carry a balance be diligent with your account. This bank does not have a stellar reputation.

    1. I have some returns and I can't decide if I should send them off now, into that messy returns vortex, or wait til the end of the 2 month window when maybe things will have calmed a little? ha.
Agree about Comenity bank's awful rep, and the many comments here over time about bad experiences with them. I noticed a few years ago my Gap card switched to Comenity bank and I though "uh-oh" but then just a few months later they switched banks again so guess they did not like Comenity either.

      Delete
    2. Not a Comenity fan here, either. Never carry a balance with them, but just told my husband we probably shouldn’t pay it off this month. A few orders shipped right before the cycle closed, and most will be going back, sadly. I just feel like it wouldn’t be wise to pay it in full and then have a large credit. With the direction things are going, I’ll probably end up cancelling the card soon anyway.

    4. @fleur de lys fair warning - my orders from 12/1 were shipped on 12/14 (a day after they were due). While they overnighted it (which should've been a Saturday delivery), they didn't make it on time to be put on the Saturday am UPS truck so they're sitting on the truck until tomorrow (Monday).

    5. I still have an order from Dec 4th that hasn’t shipped. And I haven’t gotten any of my other behind-schedule orders overnighted. Sigh.

  24. Re: mail returns - I had a little better luck with my recently shipped back box, but I had to be obnoxious about it. I raided little_lining's construction paper stash and made a red STOP sign and wrote "STOP - THIS BOX CONTAINS 4 ITEMS FROM 2 ORDERS. PLEASE PROCESS THEM ALL" on it. It seemed to work - I received return confirmation emails for all four (a few hours apart, but maybe that was another tech glitch).

This never was a problem before this summer, I used to throw everything in a box and slap on whatever label I had lying around and drop it off at UPS. It would usually be processed the day or the day after it got to the warehouse. (2 days after UPS dropoff).

Did anyone see JC's reviews on trustpilot.com (is this a real thing)? My mouth was hanging open - it's so bizarre to see so many reviews saying they have the "worst customer service ever" when so many JCA's have historically had such great CS experiences with them. Ruffles said it a few days ago, if their CS tanks, that's it.

    ReplyDelete
  25. @silver_lining, Thanks for posting. My jaw dropped too after reading the posts. Feeling very bad for the good hardworking experienced CS’s. Part of the problem I believe is that the company hired so many new employees on both sides (CS and Shipping) that didn’t have enough appropriate training. I have found several times calling them when I was unable to reach my VPS they were poorly trained and I had to guide them and even do the math. The PA returns center is a nightmare of an operation. Has been from day one. By the way great idea for marking the boxes!!! Have to pull out a red magic marker pen:)

  36. I finally got my entire 12/1 order. (Most of my 12/2 orders haven't shipped).
A mix of keep and returns.
Keep:'previously mentioned merino balloon sleeve turtleneck, merino turtleneck with side slits (this is a duplicate of one I purchased last year)
On the fence, probably will keep: 365 crepe wide leg crop pants in red. I tried the regular 0 and 0 tall. Initially I was leaning towards the tall but I think the regular works better with flats and I won't wear heels all the time. These are as comfy as sweats. I'm just not sure about styling since I prefer monochromatic and it feels like a lot. Tried with the yes no sweater and didn't like it. Prob will work fine with a white button down or tee and chambray.
Sadly most likely returning: the cashmere tunic with the side slits that go all the way up. I was afraid of this, the length is just awkward on me. If I could tuck easier it would be fine but it's not easy to tuck and it's wide so it looks like I'm hiding something.

    2. I saw above you ordered the wide leg crop jeans with patch pockets in tall - which is just what I did. Although I'm only 5'7", my inseam is over 32", so I do wear tall sometimes. I am wearing my 2011 Foundry pants right now, and they are wide leg. They are also quite loose, but that sure is comfortable.

      Delete
    3. Yes, for the price I couldn't resist those wide leg crop jeans. I sometimes find the length in regular cropped jeans too short and I don't have particularly long legs. And if I do feel they're too long I can always cut the bottoms.
I def prefer my foundry pants loose as well. I sized up to a 6 !!! and I'm normally a 0/00. They just ran small. I also got a 2 when they made it to super super sale for a more fitted look but they're a little cropped so I let out the hem.

    3. I've got the perfect winter parka in guava berry and in black and I'm returning at least one of them. I think it will be the guava berry to go back too. The fit is fine on me. I'm surprised it isn't a warmer coat though. I wish J. Crew would make their faux-fur trimmed coats easier to remove the faux-fur from, so they could be worn without it sometimes. This faux-fur snaps off of this one, but it seems that's only for cleaning, because it leaves two rows of exposed snaps. Anyway, I'm trying to decide if that will annoy me if I keep one of these. I'm also deciding about the perfect winter boots in buffalo check. I think I'm going to return these, they're just okay.

    4. Hi cate - I returned the perfect winter boots because they were just okay. I didn't like how the tongue was part of the boot shaft and had to be folded just so. The pair that I got were kind of crumpled and the tongue didn't look or feel right. I also agree with some of the reviews that said the laces didn't feel strong enough for that kind of boot. To be honest, I think I'll just keep on going with my Sorel Out-N-About boot and add some kind of liner to the inside.

When I track the item, it says scheduled delivery for the 26th!! How is this acceptable? Never before in my 20+ years of shopping at Jcrew have I ever seen anything like this. I’m taking it as a legitimate signal that this operation’s longevity is in question. As for my other items, There was one other present included. pink mockneck velvet t: surprisingly hard to get over my not-large head but for $10, I think it's worth it for the holidays. I think it runs slightly large but preferred by regular size.

white 8'' toothpicks: they're a little tight but will probably stretch, so TTS. I think I paid $50 for them.

striped button-shoulder turtleneck: I got the red and navy and ordered the ivory and navy, too. It's thinner (and a little rougher) material than I was expecting but that will work for where I live. I like the neck. Went with the smaller of my two sizes.

returned the abigail borg tops I tried: I can't explain what I didn't like but they didn't work. I think they were not tailored enough? The v was not as revealing as I was expecting. Sized down on this.

Point Sur allover pointelle crewneck sweater: this popped back and I LOVE IT. TTS.

Ruffle-neck top in Stewart tartan cotton poplin (and in the white out plaid): yup, I ordered both. Love them. I wish they had a petite run in these but sizing down worked.

J.Crew 365 crepe drop-sleeve turtleneck sweater: I tried two different sizes but - sadly - I couldn't get this to work for me. I wish it did. I really like the style!

Pointed-toe slides in brocade - returned. I wish it was gold and navy not black.

Two of my orders from early December actually shipped, but the eyelet sweatshirt had an ink stain on the shoulder. CS was good, as usual, so I can return the top and my $5 reward was applied to a different order. I did ask about an item from early in the month, and got the standard answers: the item is waiting to ship...but it is supposed to be here tomorrow. Unless someone with flying reindeer is available to make a chimney drop, I doubt it will work out!

My husbands Ludlow glen plaid pants G7123 also arrived and they fit him so well. I like the brighter blue color in the plaid, it isn't loud at all. I just need to shorten them a tiny bit. I've already let out the hem and ironed them ready to try on for length. Purchased these on the 60% sale + 15% catalog so the price was under $30.

I tweeeted @jcrew help directly and there is an automated response explaining wait times, etc and asking for order numbers if applicable, I have all my order numbers from the first week of DEC that had items missing. Within the day I got notification that everything shipped (!!!). Now I believe I am just waiting for two orders from last weekend and maybe a few candles (which by the time they come obviously won't be gifts).

Speaking of candles, I ordered those burkelman candles when they were on sale. I am not the best with identifying scents but I know I love spicy, musky, woodsy masculine scents in the winter. I made a mistake and got ambassador so and so thinking it was sandalwood I like (it's cedarwood) so of the three this is my least favorite and most "hippy" smelling (I think it would smell nice burning and gave one as part of a hostess gift). The other two were hudson valley I think and night moves. I like both a lot. Night moves reminds me of Angel perfume which I have been using on and off for 25 years. If they pop back and you like this type of scent I recommend.

    1. Ooh, Angel is one of my all-time favorites (especially at this time of year)! Thanks for the review.

  55. I just got an email that a coat I ordered 12 days ago just shipped. It kind of hilarious and sad how happy I am at this news. :D

  56. OH MY GOD, what the heck. I just got my double leopard topcoat. Tried it on and felt like it was much smaller than I'd expect even if reviews said it ran small. It just barely fit. But over a thin top it could work. I just checked the size. They sent me a 0. I ordered a 4. The invoice says 4. The tag on the jacket and the hang tag both say 0. What is going on???

    1. Of course now it's sold out because it was ordered over a week ago (and shipped faster than almost anything else I've ordered, which is pretty sad).

    2. On the upside, you can fit a 0 topcoat that’s running small!

Seriously though I am looking forward to next week’s rollout. Curious to see what will popback but dreading the possibility of final sale.

    3. Phooey! Keep stalking for a popback, and order it at whatever price - for sure CS will adjust to price match the one shipped in error.

    4. I'm sure they will but it's ridiculous. The 0 is too short in the sleeves. I could prob deal with the shoulders (it fits over a thin merino turtneck although barely, but the sleeves look stupid. Sooo annoying, I guess this is a first world problem to the nth degree. Huh.

    5. The person who ordered the 0 and got *we're sorry* is probably sad too. I bet there will be returns eventually in your size.

  57. I received the Liberty Betsy Ann floral print skirt yesterday. It’s pretty and I plan to keep it. However, it arrived with a security sensor attached, so I had to take it to my local store to have it removed. I had a pile of returns that needed to go back this week anyway. I returned the navy/pink mockneck Fair Isle cashmere sweater, both perfect fit turtlenecks that were actually Mercantile turtlenecks and an unworn blazer that I reordered for half the price. I didn’t return the ivory/gray mockneck Fair Isle cashmere sweater, but I think that one is going back, too. It’s ok, but there’s nothing special about it and I doubt I’d wear it much.

  60. I'm not complaining...but I have SIX packages arriving tomorrow. I don't even know what shipped because Jcrew certainly hasn't provided notification for all of them
