JCA "Help Style Me!" Weekly Post

This is the weekly "Help Style Me!" post, where we can share items we are having trouble putting outfits together with. Elaine (in this post) says it best, "You know, that thing you bought because you love it and you keep pulling it out and then putting it away without wearing it?"

Please share your J.Crew item (either that you own or are thinking about getting) that you would love help creating an outfit with.

Also, please help out by offering your styling advice. Feel free to include links to your blog (where you incorporated that piece) or to Polyvore (where you showcased an outfit with that piece). Thanks in advance! :)

  1. Hey friends! Any styling ideas for the magical bouquet popover to transition it into falls and winter? What color on bottom makes sense to not make it feel so spring/summer? I love it so, so much and want to wear it more often but I struggle with how to make it seem season appropriate. Thanks for any advice!

    1. Such a pretty top! Have you tried it with navy? Is there room to layer a thin navy turtleneck underneath? If not it could just peek out from a navy cardi or pullover. The Directrice is great at layering gauzy/lightweight floral blouses with other pieces, and her writing style is hilarious: http://thedirectrice.com/

    2. I like shopgrrrl's suggestion of navy. I also think that a cozy long cream cardi would look season-appropriate with a dark wash jean & camel booties.

A camel skirt with a burgundy cardigan would also be beautiful for fall.

For winter, I think styling it under a coral or pine green crewneck sweater would be really pretty for a pop of color sticking out.

    3. Yes I love the camel/burgundy option and layering it under a sweater. Both really great ideas! Thanks!!

  2. I just received the Cameron Pants- Was looking for an Audrey Hepburn/ Laura Petrie black skinny pants and these fit the bill. The fabric is nice, I am sure I will get a lot of use out of them

    1. Glad they worked for you. I'm always searching for the perfect black pants. I only tried one pair of the Cameron's, The plaid/tartan from last holiday. The thighs were tight and the waist was loose, so the proportions just didn't work for me. (I had this fit issue with several other pant styles as well.)

    2. I love your description of the beau ideal skinny black pants! Now if I could only find a pair that made me feel that way!
