Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. Okay what happened to J.Crew’s painter and vintage T’s? I must be late to the party again...
I went online to check their cotton Ts to replace my old white Ts and they don’t make it anymore?? 😞

    1. Sorry I refuse to order their Mercantile broken-in T-shirts. Quality won’t be good.

    2. I really miss these as well and don't like any of J Crew's tees now. I have purchased the factory LS artist tees and I find them to be a good substitution. I can't tell much of a difference from the painter and they have held up well in the wash.
The vintage cotton and J Crew tissue tees were already thin so factory/mercantile might be see through at a thinner weight. I tried JC scoopneck tencel tee and it is awful and really oversized. I paid $3.50 and still want to return it it was so sloppy and ill fitting.
If anyone has another store option with cotton tee would love to know.

    3. I think that Loft's Vintage Soft tees are pretty decent - 100% cotton, kind of a slub knit, and come in a bunch of different cuts. Color selection is not as wide as JC, but I tend to replenish my white/navy/grey tees every summer and liked these. I like their essential and shirttail tanks too (also 100% cotton).

    4. For 100% cotton tees, I've been buying from Target (A New Day Vintage tees), Old Navy (EveryWear tees) and Gap (Vintage crew neck & v neck tees). I was at J Crew Factory over the weekend. The studio and featherweight slub tees are all cotton. The studio were similar to the painter tee fabric from retail. The Mercantile broken-in tees looked short and wide.

    7. The key to a good tee to me is how it looks after laundering. Does it develop holes, shrink, or otherwise look ready for the rag bin, and how quickly?

J Crew tees have disappointed on this criteria more often than, but I have had better luck w the Factory Studio Tee than any of the others, retail or Factory. I do love Michael Stars tees, and for a less expensive option, the LE layering tees are quite good if you are looking for basic colors.

    8. The new perfect fit tees are my absolute favorite. Consistently wash up like new (I dry them flat, only 5 minutes in dryer to fluff), I know they’re not everyone’s cup of tea but to me they are perfect!

  2. No store visit this weekend with Kentucky Derby events. But, I’m mostly happy with my 50% off sale purchases. I have a headstart on fall/winter and also picked items for summer travel and vacation. If you need a cute, summer cover up, I recommend the red cerise strapless romper. Fit is tts and it’s perfect for the beach/pool. Pairs nicely with star print bikini. If you need pjs, try Liberty floral cotton pj set. You will need to size up if you have a bust. You can layer the top as a cami with the Liberty print popover and perfect fit shirt. For basic tees, I ordered scoopneck tencel t-shirt that’s on sale. Received green and very happy with fit (tts) and style. Navy is on its way. Collection flannel wool pj top; fit is tts and wool is a nice weight and quality. Sale unicorns are: lightweight wool Jackie cardigan in leopard and Cameron slim crop wool tartan pants. Sleeveless cardigan sweater was a surprise love. I hadn’t paid any attention to this sweater until Anne - Fablifeforever made reference. I sized down one because only a small was available and it fits well. Matches black wide leg wool pants perfectly. Tall sleeveless tank in Liberty Symphony floral; I always size up in Liberty and I’m pleased with the fit; can pair with the matching skirt or casually with Sunday chino pants and/or denim.

    1. Curious what did you pay for your sleeveless cardigan? I swear I had this on my wishlist but it disappeared and I forgot about it until you mentioned it.

  3. I have had a few nice buys of late:

Ordered the ankle strap striped flats- super cute!
The stretch linen blazer in the Subtle Pink is lovely.
I also was able to grab the gingham ruffle skirt on sale, which is cute.
Finally, got the patent red ballet flats for about $29 with the 50% off sale, and a 15% code. They are great for that price.

  6. I'm waiting for the new roll out. All of the dresses from the previous one turned out to be Factory merch. Definitely not interested in those. I'm waiting for JCrew summer dresses.
