  2. If you are craving cute preppy spring buttondown-style shirts, Gap has just released some nice ones. If these were sitting over at JCrew they’d be flying out the door - great colours and ever-so-prep prints and colours and stripes. Two over on my IG @poettodesign
And if you are craving that pale pink JC rain jacket, BR has its twin!

    1. Any chance you tried on the Gap shirts? I bought several very cute Gap shirts a few years ago, but ended up throwing them all out after I saw a picture of myself wearing one. The shapeless thing made me look 20 pounds heavier and/or pregnant! Nope. Never wearing that again no matter how cute the print.

    2. I tried them on and bought two, thanks to the F&F sale. I have Gap shirts going back years, and have always found the fit similar to any other button-down shirt style, including JCrew’s perfect or boy shirts. I am not fond of most popover styles as I find those can be too big through the middle. With all, the key to a good look for me is getting the size just right. I’m sorry to hear they haven’t worked out for you in the past. Have you tried BR’s shirts, they come in different fits (though their fabrics can be hit and miss)?

    3. Jeanne I had the same problem a few years ago. Vowed never to stray from JC for shirts like that ever again. Can't speak to the current ones though.

  3. not sure where to put this soooo...

anyway... i little while back, i asked for advice on stretching out a shrunken sweater... THANK YOU... it totally worked... i had two sweaters and tried the conditioner method on one and the caldera (?) soap on the other... i still want to stretch the violet sweater a little more (it shrunk the most and i did that one first so i was way more cautious about stretching it) but both feel a lot better... and i've gone hand washing happy with the fancy soap for my other sweaters now too!

    2. Miss JR - I'm so glad the Caldrea delicate wash worked for you. I absolutely love the scent of that stuff. I look like a crazy person, sniffing my sweater all day. 🤪

  4. I just received a few things from uniqlo. Their crewneck short sleeve t shirts are amazingly nice - all cotton, tts, really nice thick material. I haven't felt a t shirt this substantial in years. Two things from the IDLF line - short sleeve sweater and a pointelle cardigan - are both surprisingly nice as well. Classic look and fit and nice material on both. I was expecting to make returns but am going to keep everything I ordered. I haven't ordered anything from J Crew in over 2 months which is a new record for me. :|
