This is the weekly "Other JCrew-like Retailers" post (similar to the "Off On A Tangent" posts), where we can share our finds from other retailers that have offerings similar to J.Crew (like Anthropologie, LE Canvas, Gap, BR, Talbots, Ann Taylor, and the like.)

If you have recently encountered items that are similar to J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Please feel free to share your story on almost any topic— including experiences with certain merchandise pieces, promotions/ offers, in-store visits, transactions with store associates, etc.

  1. Hello! This isn't a specific brand shopping site I'm recommending. Rather, it's a style blog for women over 40 that I have enjoyed reading. The U.K. blogger edits and recommends various brands that look good on us over 40 ladies----and remind me of old J Crew. She is a former editor for some English store brand magazine. She has a good eye for taking all these "trends" and editing for my age crowd. Her choices feel stylish and on trend, but not throw away after 1-2 seasons, which is what I used to love about old, classic with a twist JC. I turn to Boden and sometimes Uniqlo to feed my J Crew wishes. She has made me rethink about what I buy from J Crew. I really edit my wish lists now.

    1. This is a lovely blog, thank you cmg! I like that she features industry insights, brands like Boden and some bridge designer that are more polished like old-school J Crew, and not as much of the the "dumbed-down" fast fashion J Crew has gone to.

    1. Yes, please, wellfedfred! I really wanted the polka dot dress, but it's sold out.

I'm not a fan of the larger prints that Boden produces. However, their solid pieces have been workhorses in my wardrobe and periodically I find some smaller prints (ikat, paisley, deco, or geometric) that appeal to me. Furthermore, Boden carries Abraham Moon wool pieces that JC used to carry back in the day.

    2. cog, watch for popbacks! on this order, 3 items disappeared from my cart while i was dithering over something else, and when i tried again late at night, every single item was back, and has shipped.

  3. I received a Sept catalog from J Jill and they have a wide selection of tall offerings as well as many cotton rich items. Going to place an order for a few items.

  4. Has anyone seen the Banana ruffle sleeve sweater? They are not an exact match, Banana's is more feminine in my opinion, but I am curious for an irl comparison.
