Weekly Share: Other JCrew-like Retailers

This is the weekly "Other JCrew-like Retailers" post (similar to the "Off On A Tangent" posts), where we can share our finds from other retailers that have offerings similar to J.Crew (like Anthropologie, LE Canvas, Gap, BR, Talbots, Ann Taylor, and the like.)

If you have recently encountered items that are similar to J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Please feel free to share your story on almost any topic— including experiences with certain merchandise pieces, promotions/ offers, in-store visits, transactions with store associates, etc.

  1. I just ordered two pieces from the Piece & Co. collaboration with BR to try. All of the pieces are pure silk and/or cotton and the prints are lovely and sophisticated (like JC used to do). No promos apply but I am putting my money where my mouth is when I say I am willing to pay more for quality. The rest of BR's stuff is looking too H&M-like these days.

    1. I should say, "most of" the rest of BR's stuff... Their merino sweaters are still nice.

    2. Agree, Cass. I ordered a bunch of BR merino with the 50% off sale (and extra 10% for cardholders). Love the full length sleeves and beautiful colors. Some of the BR pima cotton tees are quite nice also.

  2. Thanks for the heads up Cass. Those prints are intriguing and they are made of natural fibers (silk & cotton). That silk twist front maxi is calling my name!

    1. I ordered that one and also the strapless midi, each in one of the two prints. I also liked the one shoulder top but decided against it as I don't think I would get as much wear out of it.

  3. Does anyone know what style of pants at BR is best for a curvy fit? The descriptions for each style are no help at all! The sales guy at my store said they didn't have a curvy fit. In this day and age of poor retail sales, you'd think they'd offer something for a good part of the market.

  4. Ann Taylor has 50% off online. Unfortunately, no free shipping unless you order $125 or more. Standard shipping is $8.95

  5. I can totally relate with what you said about pulling out clothes again and again when we love them. Hoping to see such posts again in the future. Good job.
