Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. I haven't shopped much a JCrew lately or really been on this site, so I don't know how common this is. I had a $20 off $100 coupon that was set to expire this weekend, so I was already in the mindset to come in, but then I received a $100 off a purchase card and letter. I have never seen anything like that. The only condition is that it was for an item, not a purchase.

I was able to pair those two offers with the 30% off. I got the Fatigue Jacket for $10.60! I used the $20 offer on the Signet Bag in Soft Blossom (waiting for that to ship) and the Ruffle-Front Top.

I am really happy with everything I bought. The Ruffle-Front Top is super cute. I did try on the One-shoulder ruffle top in eyelet, but the fit was just awful. It was so stiff and boxy, like it was made for a football player.

My store also had little succulent plants and cute mini pots to take. I generally feel like consumerism for Earth day is too much irony for me to handle, but that was pretty cute.

    2. Awesome haul!! I've never received a coupon like that personally, but I remember Doodle used to mention them from time to time. You got some really great deals, good for you -- I LOVE the bit about the Fatigue Jacket, that is crazy good!

    3. I was/am annoyed at JC about this. Their policies are so inconsistent. I also had a $20 off $100 card expiring this weekend, so I went in on Friday AND Saturday trying to find something to use it on. I had been trying to use it since I got it, which was about a month. Every time I went in, they didn't have what I wanted or my size. So in the past month I ended up making about 4 online purchases, which I couldn't use my card on. Finally this Saturday I found something I actually wanted and in my size: the Drake sandals but it was FS. I figured I could deal with the FS if I could use my card, knowing that someone else here was able to use hers on a purchase under $100 and mine was $78, which I felt was close enough. I asked if they would honor it and they refused. I didn't want anything else in the store because 1. I already have two online JC purchases OTW, 2. once again the store didn't carry what I did want, 3. I knew that they've made similar exceptions in the past, and 4. I also realized the irony of buying something for the sake of getting $20 off on EARTH DAY of all days. They'd rather let those shoes languish for a few more months and sell them? I was so annoyed that I gave them back their card.

    4. The letter/card is printed, but it is directly from an SA at my local store to me. It talks about new arrivals and it offers to open the store early or close late to accommodate my schedule. Maybe it's a customer base building strategy that just some stores are doing?

@eeps. I used the $20 off on a purchase of $100. The bag and shirt with the 30% off came to $117.25. It was $20 off of that. I used the $100 off on the Fatigue Jacket.

I think what is interesting is that you couldn't use your $20 off on an in-store online purchase. They didn't have the bag in the color I wanted, but they ordered it for me and allowed me to use the discount. It never occurred to me that they wouldn't.

    5. @Jessica to clarify, the 4 online purchases I made in the past month was not in-store online, they were made online when I got home feeling dejected from the store. Every time I was in a store and made it known to an SA that they didn't have my size, etc., none of them offered to order online for me.

    6. I did not use the bounce back card (20% Off $100) at my local store....I would not be allowed to use it for under the $100 either. good for a mth....never used it.now what does that say about my new shopping habits? Well I am being much more discerning. and I like it!

    7. @eeps. I asked for them to order it, they didn't offer. I didn't really give them a chance though. I came in knowing what I wanted. I probably spent 15 minutes in the store.

  2. CONFESSION: I'm being cheap right now. I'm holding off on buying new shorts because I know last year I bought them and then they were so inexpensive by June.
30% off and 8% cash back is tempting, but they're still close to $50.

    1. Yeah, I feel like shorts are always available on clearance super cheap. Since I live in the Pacific NW, it's not as if I can even wear them until the end of June.

    2. Yeah...none stop rain here in Portland. Not wearing shorts any time soon it seems. Ugh.

    3. I am in Portland too! It was so dark yesterday at like 2:00 pm.

    4. I'm in Portland (OR) too and this has been an incredibly long rainy winter! I see sun in the forecast but not holding my breath. But for some reason the weather didn't stop me from ordering the pink shorts with the bow tie. I was also able to exchange my navy eyelet dress for the green in a smaller size. Obviously needing some color to contrast our gray days!

    5. Hi fellow Portlanders! Hasn't this been the longest rainy spell we've had in years?! I'm so sick of it....but I keep ordering and buying spring clothes too. I hope we actually get to wear some shorts, skirts and tees soon....without a raincoat over them!

    6. It's been raining a lot in SF too! Safe to say, California drought is over (for now)...

  3. Does it drive anyone else crazy that live chat is listed as "We’re available every day, from 9am to 11:59pm ET." but is often unavailable during that time frame? The icon is greyed out. Naturally, I need a price adjustment on an order I haven't received yet.

    1. i almost never get that chat to work. why even bother having it?!

    2. I couldn't even find chat as an option last time I looked...

    3. This is goofy, but I just refresh the page until the link activates. I wonder if they don't let you start a chat if they don't have an available agent, because I get connected immediately once the icon is clickable.

  4. No store visit this weekend, but I will be stopping at UPS tonight to send back a silk scarf that arrived complete with a crusty spot of I-don't-want-to-know-what on it. Ew!

  6. I tried on the linen skirt w the rickrack trim and its really cute. White linen is a very bad idea for my lifestyle and I already have too many navy skirts, but it occurred to me that this is a perfect DIY. A package of giant rickrack from Joann Fabrics and you're in businesss! I think it would be very cute on a casual pair of cropped pants, too. I may give it a try in a couple weeks after all the term papers are graded ...

  7. Has anyone ordered this year's version of the linen Regent blazer yet? I like the yellow one, but I'm not sure what size to get, and as an online-only item, I'd rather avoid ordering multiple sizes to try if I can avoid it, nor do I want to go through the hassle of an online exchange.

I remember the old version fitting smaller than the normal wool Regent blazers, and I think part of the fit issue also had to do with using a cotton lining. This year, it seems like they've changed the lining to polyester, so idk. It's also hard to judge based on the sizing slider because the page on the website includes reviews for both the old and new versions, and almost none of the reviews for the new version mention if it fits TTS or otherwise.

    1. Hi Xan - I did order it in the green color. I found my normal size was perfect! I tried last years' version and didn't like the linen or the lining, whereas I really like this version. HTH!

  8. Mr. Brown Shorts brought some things today...here are my thoughts:

Madras paper bag tie waist pants- I looked in the mirror and said "clown pants". I ordered these in 6 which is my smaller pant size. I could fit in a 4. Very full and the paper bag waist plus the tie made me look swallowed in fabric. And I'm tall. I was never "into" the paper bag waist and I'm sooooo over it. Back it goes.

Salut! tee- Meh. I ordered my normal tee size and it's too big. Why is everything so big this season??? Anyway, maybe I'm not in the mood today, but I was just annoyed when I put it on. Back it goes.

Lemon Tippi cardigan- First thought...too cutesy. I'll look at it again tomorrow. Probably going back.

    Lemon print bandana- cute. Keeping.

Vintage crop jeans in leopard wash- I want to meet the woman these jeans were made for. HUGE waist and pencil legs. WTH? Back they go.

Wide Leg cropped chino in driftwood- Ordered in 6. These fit me really well. I'm long waisted and these fit on my natural waist line. I'll style them tomorrow and decide. I think they'll be cute with ankle lace flat espadrilles and slide sandals.

    White Jackie and cardigan-nice basics.

    That's all for now!

    1. Thanks, Stray Cat! Nice reviews.

I am so drawn to the plaid pants, but I know I would have the same reaction you did. I'll save myself the laugh!

  9. OT- anyone know a good place to find cute patches? I have that unworn Jackie cardigan with the hole in it on the upper arm. Combo can't be bothered to complain/return yet again & knowing JC would just scrap it. So in the spirit of Earth Day...need a cute patch.
