Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. Hi all -- the new promo is SHOPMORE for 25% off of $125+ or 30% off of $200+ good thru Wed, 10/26. Free shipping today.

  2. I was able to order the regent topcoat during the last glitch but I'll be returning it. If anyone missed out on the heather ash blue in Sz 0, let me know before I return it over the weekend! Note that the color is closer to the stock photo than the model photo...which is why I'm returning. It's not an ugly color by any means...just not what I wanted.

  3. A pair of Sams in milky brown, for $12.00? Yes they were mispriced at the clearance store. Also picked up a St. James tee and some Sammie chinos. Also picked up a Wallace and Barnes neckerchief.

    1. That might be the deal of the century! I'm headed to the Lynchburg store on Monday 10/31 (my son has a neuro appt that day so of COURSE I have to swing by on my way home). I hope they have some Sammie chinos for me to try. Pants are few & far between in my current size(s) - there's TONS in the smaller sizes but hardly anything in the 10 & up. I guess I should just see that as more motivation to lose some weight!

    2. Good luck!!! Hope you find a bag full!!!

  4. Does anyone own the lucite heel in velvet. I ordered 7.5 and they canceled. 8 is available but not sure if I can make it work... reviews go both ways... one says small one too big.... thanks all....

    1. I have them. They run slightly big, but I still sized up (as I do in all J. Crew shoes). I put a gel insert in the toe and they are perfect.

    2. Beverly.. thank you, placed an order... keep you posted on the results... can I ask what gel insert you are using?? I am very hopeful, I do like them more then the Avery heel.,, but keeping the Avery right now as they are supper comfy...

    3. I just tried a pair at the clearance store in my size 8, they felt a little short to me like I could go up 1/2 size. The ones at the clearance store looked like the velvet had a rough time. I think they may be pretty fragile.

  5. Also, bought the Avery tassel suede wedges, they are true to size, soft as butter, so comfortable...I think sale price is good for such quality shoe.... keeping in box for now in hopes of trying the lucite heel.

    1. Sorry, the my mistake, I bought Avery tassel color block heel, not wedges... item f4863...

  6. For all of you international JCAs: I noticed that Nordstrom uses a more favorable conversion rate than J Crew. For example: the Signet bag ($128) is €123 at Nordstrom versus €155 at J Crew. Of course Nordstrom offers a limited selection but def worth checking out!

    1. I think it runs pretty true to size from when I tried it on.

  9. Can anyone give me some quick regent blazer advice? I'm eyeing the camel one but also saw the deconstructed regent blazer in shirting stripe on sale for almost nothing in my size (but final sale). I've never tried it on. I wear a petite in my normal size for the schoolboy... thanks! -lep33shops

    1. Lauren - I have found the heavier wool ones to run a little smaller but in the lighter wool solid ones I take a 10 which is my schoolboy size as well. So I'd say TTS - I'm a 10/12 in blazers but lately mostly a 10. I grabbed the deconstructed regent stripe one on sale too at the end of the summer - it's really lightweight and would be perfect for you in FL.I have that in a 10. Feel free to DM me on IG if you need more info :)

  10. Went to a store in Chicago (North Ave.) yesterday. 30% off sweaters, outwear, and shirts--maybe more, but I'm not sure. Basically anything that's 25% off online seemed to be 30% in-store, plus the SA offered me my teacher's discount on top of that.

  11. I'm hoping to get to a store to check out new arrivals. In the mean time I did order the color block tassel heels and the bracelet sleeve suiting dress in deep azalea. I always try to hold out for the colored suiting dresses to hit sale and I never seem to snag them and I love this color so giving it a try with the 30% off $200.

    1. Oh, I just saw this dress, can't wait to hear your thoughts on it, as this color is gorgeous!

  12. I got the colorblock tassel heels at the "witching hour" and am feeling very hopeful that (1) they will ship and (2) they will fit.

    1. I too ordered a pair of averys in the wee hours, hoping both of ours ship!

      Delete
    2. I did the same & both pairs (colorblock & tweed) shipped. Also, contact the stores/VPS because my experience is that even if it's sold out online, there are typically stores with inventory.

    3. Very comfy and true to size....

    4. I received the Avery heels in Tweed that I caught on popback last weekend, and really wish now that I had been able to catch them in a half size larger. I went ahead and ordered, since a couple of the online reviews said they run large, so I was hopeful these would work. One reviewer did say that her pair stretched out after a bit of wear, so perhaps mine will do the same...not sure I trust this though, and will be stalking for a larger size in the meantime.

      Delete
    5. Thank you ladies for the input! I ordered the tweed ones in my usual Jcrew size so hoping they ship. @Melissa, did you order your usual size in them?

      Delete
    6. @jan I'll chime in; fit was tts in a 10 in the tweed. Love them. Returning suede ones since they were a bit too wide; length was perfect.

      Delete
    7. Hi Jan - I normally wear a 9.5 or 10, and ordered the tweed avery in a 9.5. I think the 10 will be a perfect fit...if I can catch that size on popback. Over all the years of trying shoes at J.Crew, I more often than not need the larger of my two shoe sizes, but decided to give the 9.5 a try when they showed up online last weekend in the hopes that they would fit. Unfortunately, for me this is one of the pairs that I needed the larger size.

    8. Oh to add in, I do think they will fit you in your usual size, Jan. Congrats on getting them...they are gorgeous! :)

  14. Just got back from my local store, came home empty handed. Clearance was only 30% off, making the jacket I've been stalking quite more expensive than it was two week ago. The jacket is popping in and out online at $89.99 CAD with 50% off, but my size hasn't come up yet. At the store the jacket was $129 CAD. It was busy so I didn't want to wait to ask, but should the in-store clearance price match the online, even if the extra % off is different? Most other clearance prices that I knew matched up, but the jacket is way off.
Also looked at the pink houndstooth skirt, very cute, but too short for me.

    1. Hi shopgrrrl, I think the prices should match (maybe the store didn't mark the price tag correctly) but I have found differences. I believe the store will match online for you, I'm in Canada too and have had stores match online before. :)

    2. Thanks, Jan, I'll have to call the store to find out their policy.

    3. Shopgrrrl, not Jcrew related but I just got a flyer in the mail that Boden is starting a 25% promo on Monday. I know you were asking about Boden in another thread. Also, I was just thinking that they are very generous with vouchers. They sent me a $15 one recently and a $10 one for my birthday.

    4. If you email JCrew that will price adjust in store purchases with your receipt information.

    5. Thank you for the he heads-up, Lauren!

Jessica, that's really interesting, I'll had no idea about that. Now I wish I'd purchased the jacket two weeks ago when it was an extra 40% off, but I didn't realize at the time that it was priced much lower online.

    1. It wasn't when I bought it on Wednesday (although there was a sign that tops were 30%.) The SA told me that as a specialty item, it didn't qualify for the discount. :-(

    2. Promo changed (see above) and yesterday when the promo was 30% off sweaters the star tippi was excluded! HTH

  17. OT: For anyone looking for a really cute neutral block heel pump, this pair at Anthropologie are adorable IRL. They fit TTS, and feel as if they will be comfortable to wear for extended periods of time The metallic at the heel is very subtle, but gives them a unique vibe. They are also 20% off until the end of the day with code ADAY, making them $110.40 before taxes (if your state charges them) and shipping.

    1. Those are great shoes, I love that block heel.

    2. Thank you ladies! I think I'll sit it out until 40 or 50% off. I don't think the merch is going anywhere!

      Delete
    3. I'm sitting out, too. I'm not going to pay more for something that was 40% off last week, especially as anything I've been watching has been at the same price point since June.

  19. I stopped in yesterday after work and tried on some items. As Ina said, the promotion was 25% off $125 and 30% off $200. I wasn't told that there were any exclusions, but I didn't ask specifically about items.

I tried on the Oxford Check coat, Gayle Sweater, Star Tippi, Cape Scarf and Multistripe sweater. Mostly neutrals. The cape scarf was a love. You can see the pictures on my blog here.

    1. Great reviews, Anne! The Star Tippi was the only thing I really loved from my own store visit the other day (liked a few other things, but no immediate must-haves, I mean.) I did end up buying it, since I haven't bought anything else from them in a good while.

One comment about the Oxford check coat- I, too, noticed the Regular had 'sold out' that day, only to suddenly come back with a full run shortly thereafter. Sometimes I wonder if these kinds of things aren't more related to those glitches JC has? Another JCA theorized that it was due to JC not having the pricing info for the Regular sizes ready when the coat went on sale, rather than the idea that it had completely sold out Tuesday morning the way it seemed to. I've seen this 'Sold Out but full run the next day' issue with them before, so wondering if this is really what's going on here. I visited my store on Wednesday and they had plenty of the Regular in stock as well.

      Anywho, just something curious!

PS, agree about that Gap-like sweater. Didn't love the neck tie sweater, though like that the material isn't flimsy.

    2. Your reviews are always so helpful! I like the Tippi and I'm loving the slingback flats. Hadn't really noticed them until I saw them on your IG.

  20. @Mygoddy, thank you! Glad to hear that you loved them!
@Melissa, thank you - I'm crossing my fingers that theyll fit assuming they ship. I hope that you are able to find them in a size 10. As Mygoddy suggested, maybe try calling a store to locate them? I'm in Canada so not too many stores here and I know that none have my size from calling. One did have a size 10 which I wish helped you, but I'm thinking maybe a store in the U.S. might? Good luck!

  21. Got the cocoon coat in grey yesterday from earlier in the week. Bought 0. (5.3, 115).... fabric is nice. The collar seems little overwhelming. Will try to switch out for 0P... if they let me for same price.... would be nice to hear what other are thinking about the fit...

    1. Hi Kate - every year I try the cocoon coat in store but it just doesn't seem to be the best shape for me. The collar doesn't quite work for me and makes me feel like I'm wearing a neck brace. I think I just need a collar that is more face-framing. However, the grey color is perfect and I wish I could get it in a coat that was more tailored.

    2. I could probably fit a 6 nicely but got the 8 for that "oversized" coat look. I love it larger! with the sleeves and high neck i like erring on the side of bigger than fitted (compared to the regent that needs to fit nicely).

      Delete
    3. @Kate, I'm about the same size as you. I got the cocoon coat in the 2P last year. You may want to check the measurements with CS, but usually the 0 is comparable to 2P. Just things like sleeve and overall length are shorter.

      Delete
    4. Thanks all for your input... I also feel like it's very large under arms. I tried it with shirt and cashmere sweater and was swimming in it. I don't want it fitted as I have a lady coat which I love.... also, they are letting me exchage it... going to give it another try..thanks again everyone...

    5. I just wore my gray Cocoon coat to walk the dog and had it zipped up to the top (when did it get this cold and windy?!). It kept me nice and warm. I think the collar in this coat is more functional than decorative, but if you don't need it for the warmth factor then you might be happier with a different style.

  22. Speaking of coats. I love my Double-Cloth Sabrina coat from when it first came out, Fall 2014. Minimal and timeless.

I didn't like the Fall 2015 version. The quality was different, a step down from 2014.

I was hoping J.Crew would make the 2014 version, in yummy colors. I hope they bring it back again for Fall 2017.
