Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. Happy Friday, JCAs. I reviewed the cord blazer in masala chai in this post. It's on promo + YESPLEASE. As mentioned in another post, J. Crew added package tracking info to the website. It's accessible thru your email confirmation that the package was shipped. You can add your phone number to receive text updates. A screenshot is at the bottom of the cord blazer review post.

    1. Funny, my current order didn't show that, but I'll double check. I like the Campbell and love the corduroy but none of the colors works for me, Sartorialchoices posted it on IG with the Sammie pants which match perfectly to make an adorable little pant suit.

  2. I went yesterday as I needed to make a return. Bought a Ballet Cap-sleeve T in Cabernet. Tried the Rainbow stripe sweater in merino, LOVED the colour combo, but it was too short (I'm 5'9"), too bad. Hemmed and hawed over the Denim jacket in Ecru, really wanted it, but it was still $80 CAD after the 40% off, so I left that, too. Came home and saw the jacket would only be $54 CAD if I ordered it online. Are stores in the habit of matching online pricing?

    1. Oh no, sad to hear the merino stripe sweater was too short! I'm 5'10" so I'm taking that one off my wishlist :(

    2. Yeah, I had to talk myself out of buying it as I knew despite loving the pattern, the length would be problematic. I made the same mistake last summer with a Factory sweater. I loved the design (surfboards), knew I wouldn't find something similar anywhere else, so bought it. Every single time I wore it I was tugging at it, trying different layers etc., and ultimately feeling self-conscious instead of great. I didn't wear it all this summer, I think only some kind of restyling will make it wearable.

    3. Hi, I'm not familiar with that particular sweater and don't know the fabric content. But I have noticed that sometimes I'll wash a sweater (or a tee) and while it's wet I can reshape it a bit, pull it a bit longer than it was originally. I wouldn't buy a new sweater with that as a plan, but if you already have one that's too short it might be worth a try to salvage some wear. Hanging it to dry might also stretch the length a bit.

    4. Thanks, cate, I appreciate your suggestions. The Factory surfboard sweater is cotton, and I have tried to gently stretch it after washing, but to no avail. If I was better at layering I could probably make it work.

    5. Shopgirl, I'm not sure if it works on cotton but someone mentioned here before to use hair conditioner to stretch a sweater. I think it was Suz Has. I googled it and their are several "tutorials" for that method. You may want to give it a try...

    6. The striped sweater was too short for me too and I am 5'3.

  3. Visiting to make a return. The club collar gingham shirt in a P2, fits like a glove but wanted the fit to be a little loose, so maybe a P4 would work. I was not impressed with the material. I know it works as a layer piece during winter but I will hold off on reordering the shirt in P4.

  4. No visit as the nearest JC is several hours away;-((
Happy mail day today. Received the merino sweater blazer in navy, boy shirt in burnished rhubarb and the silk pajama shirt in burgundy today. Love them!
Sized down one in the merino sweater blazer, looks very polished and so comfy at the same time, love the Regent like collar.
Took my normal size in the boy shirt based on CS's measurements, great fit but maybe a bit more slim fitting than the other boy shirts I have. The color combo is pink&burgundy, pic on the website doesn't do it justice. If not for the JCAs who mentioned it here @DD @shoppingcelle and @Inawonderland on IG I wouldn't have looked at it twice.
The silk pajama shirt...what can I say...I'm in love... burgundy with blue piping, nice fluid silk, silk covered buttons and that pajama vibe that's still totally wearable.

  5. I stopped by today. Really liked the way that the mannequins were styled, got a bit of inspiration for similar pieces I own (olive pants, chambray shirt, stripes, houndstooth, etc.). I was shocked at the cheap plastic gold buttons on the blazers - they felt kind of like half ping-pong balls that would cave in if I pressed them too hard. I cannot believe that JC put these on a $200 blazer.

Sale section was enormous (and 40% off)- two racks of neon castoffs from summer, as well as lots of button-downs, Billie jeans, Harlow cardigans (some looking fuzzy).

    1. @silver_lining, I noticed some slightly fuzzy Harlow cardis too which made me leary of buying one.

    2. @silver_lining, between the ping pong button description and the 'neon castoffs', I had a good chuckle!

  6. Best day at the clearance store in a while...fought the horrible traffic over and back but got a pair of collection calf hair lace up ballet heels and a pair of collection houndstooth jeweled heels. They had just set them out so I beat the woman down the street. Also scored a pair of Ryan sunglasses in the burgandy and tortoise combo, a pair of burgandy boyfriend chinos and an olive trench I had wanted to find for a while. All this for less than $200.00.

    4. The trench is the military trench from last fall that I really wanted but my size was never available once it went to a reasonable price. I almost bought one on eBay, so glad I didn't. I really like it and just in time for the cooler weather.

    5. Amazing, all for under $200! And I'm glad you got those shoes!

    6. Fantastic deals again Dd! Jealous of those houndstooth pumps!

  8. Just wanted to report back on the leather oxfords with fringe. They are true to size and the black is patent and very shiny. I don't mind just glossier than picture. I love them and will get lots of use out of them. Seemed pretty comfortable for the short time I had them on. Got them for 50%. I have a feeling they will get marked down again as they don't seem to be selling well done so keep a lookout if you are interested.

    1. Thanks, JessF, I want those oxfords. Haven't seen them in real life, but I'm thirsting for something other than the lace-up oxfords that I bought last year.

  9. Vancouver Robson St. store and Pacific Centre store 40% off sale. picked over...but both had city trench marked down $169 - 40%. Three or four sizes at each store. I just find the color too off for me personally. also both had the charm bracelet in sale section as well...

  11. Chateau parka is front and center again...same colors mostly. New Olivia topcoat with a removable grosgrain ribbon belt tie. Don't really get the ribbon? Some new flats, nothing great. More excursion vests, enough already. A pink velvet blazer, a cute multi stripe wool sweater. Some wool pants that look like PJ pants, called party pj. More Tippi sweaters, navy with emb gold stars. Gray wool flannel Charlie loafer, purple houndstooth Regent blazer, some sort of cute jewelry. There are a few new button up shits. There is a cute stripe tie neck tuxedo button up in cotton. A super cute Jackie twin set in camel, gray and cream argyle. All the new NB collab. A chino trench skirt that looks interesting. There is a new low heeled flat with a kilt fringe on the top in snakeskin and in navy suede. They are super nice. That is pretty much it for me.

    5. $89.50 style number f8446. It is odd, all the new shirts are back up in price. I guess the freak out pricing didn't work so well. There is a liberty print tie neck that is $118.00 style f8523.

    6. Speaking of prices, Rynetta has a pic on IG of a beautiful yellow skirt with roses on it that I'm in love with. I called cs for info and was told $350 US so I don't even want to know the cdn price. :( seems very high for a skirt.

      Delete
    7. I would not worry. That skirt will be on sale plus 40% off soon enough. Honestly, wait one to one and a half months after it is released and it will be considerably cheaper. There is absolutely zero need to buy anything full price at J. Crew.

    8. I am sure it is collection.

    9. @DD, yes they said collection. I think you're right that freak out prices may be done lol. @Beverly Burden, hopefully it will make it to sale. :)

    10. I am always wrong what will go to sale first...or what will linger in all sizes forever at higher price.
I wonder who has control over this because I find few "hit it out of the park" items these days. to me it is always a gamble...I personally ever get lucky with pop backs or
super sale items. But I do live vicariously through others luck...envious but not bitter.

    11. In my experience, very little sells out before making it to sale. It may be a matter of being patient and checking your wishlist every morning, but everything makes it to sale, even collection items.

Unless you want something to wear immediately (say for an event or something), you can get it much cheaper by waiting.

That skirt will not sell out and I'm positive it's not worth $350.

  15. I went yesterday to do some returns, and tried on the 'updated' chelsea rain boot. It was a tiny bit wider than last year's, which I tried and found too narrow. Love the dark maroon color, it would go with black or navy. It had a really cute look on, with ankle pants, but even walking around in the store was not comfortable. I'm usually a 9.5 or 10 in jcrew, and I tried on a 10 in these. They fit ok with a thin sock. I debated ordering the 11 online when I got home, to wear with a thick sock, and maybe that would be more comfortable, but after some research, I just ordered some Tretorns. I need a winter rain/slush boot that I can actually walk all day in.

    2. OT bean boots are 20% off this weekend. Do I need them?

      Delete
    3. yes! lol. I have the mid boots lined in shearling, and I love them. fyi the shearling is only on the ankle/leg part, I recommend buying an ugg shearling liner insert from nordstrom for the footbed. Then you have the perfect winter boot! For me they're more of country than city (a little cumbersome for walking long distances) and more of a winter boot than a rain boot.
