Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. Ladies, there are still clearance shoes to be found out there and lots of other things that are not online. Don't be discouraged if your item is not online, it could still be found. Call a store and have them check for you...Tell them even there is one showing up in one store you would like to have the phone number. It works!!! Some SAs are more helpful than others so get one that seems like they want to help you, you can tell the difference. I wish J.Crew would hire me just to find stuff for people, I could have my own hotline number, access to inventory and would love the challenge of finding those things that they say are sold out...

    1. Haha doodle daschund, that sounds like a fun job! I, too like the challenge of tracking stuff down. I have found Madewell sa to be even more helpful than J. Crews lately. A few times recently I've had a sa not only search for my item at other stores, but they called the other stores and had them hold the item for me. That is going above and beyond, and I really appreciated it!

    2. Doodle Daschund, do you have to pay shipping for the store to send the sales item to you? The couple times I did it in the past, there was no shipping. Yesterday they told me policy changed recently and there's $5 shipping now on all sales items. How true is this?

    3. I have gotten free shipping. I think it depends on the SA but I know they have changed their policy. I did pay $5.00 today but that is for expedited shipping.

    1. Right there with you; not a fan of the shipping costs.

Waiting for free shipping before buying fall items that are on sale with 40% off. Like I even need anything, but can't help myself.

  3. Checked out the Christiana DE store this past weekend. Some new arrivals, but not much caught my eye. Way too hot in MD to be thinking about fall clothes! Sale section really picked over. Walked out empty handed, which is rare for me.

    1. @Ina, thank you!! Did you find the white ruffle top sheer? I'm hoping I can try it in store but not sure if my store will get it.
The going places dress looks great on you. It's so pretty!

    2. @jan i would say semi sheer. I think you should be good with a nude bra.

  5. I picked up the gold Triple Tassle necklace in store which was on sale plus extra % off. I think the regular price was very reasonable so was very happy and surprised with the sale price. Love this necklace I hadn't noticed it until I saw it on @Ina's and @rynetta's IG. It has a substantial weight and is lovely IRL. It's been sold out online.

  6. I received the cap sleeve shirting dress in stripe and the bee tippi today. The dress is definitely a sleeper hit for me. It's a lovely cotton that is tailored but fuller on the bottom for a beautiful silhouette. The stripes read either black or gray so lots of matching options. The bee tippi is a fail for me. So, so sheer. You can practically see right through it and with a cami underneath all you see is the cami. Cute design but definitely not worth full price. I'm thinking of picking up some crew earrings off eBay and attaching them to a polka dot cashmere sweater I have from Boden to achieve the same look.

  7. Had to take kids to the mall so Stopped off at Madewell to check out the Langford wide leg crops.
I really like them. I tried my usual 25, which is a little loose, and a 24 which fit, but the second button seemed to pull. I purchased the 25 in military surplus. I'm not usually a chino wearer but these are flattering. I have the boardwalk lace up sandals and they look great together.
My store also had the central shirt in lismore stripe, in size XXS. I tried it and it fit, Although I'm usually an XS. the shape is really flattering.
I am finding more and more that I like at Madewell. A lot of the items seem more Boho than my typical style, but worn with more classic, tailored shapes i think they work with the rest of my wardrobe, especially in this hot weather.

  8. Does anyone think they will offer a %off promo soon? In the past by now some things would of been sold out!

    1. Another JCA mentioned recently that she asked a store manager she works with a lot when we could expect a percentage-off full-price sale and he told her that JC was moving away from doing percentages off sales and instead, lowering the initial price point. So far, that's what we seem to be seeing with this rollout. I do think the price point for some items are better, but I'm still not ready to pay full-price for certain items, as I think they're still slightly overpriced.
