J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs!}

This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.

So if you have recently purchased, or stopped by a J.Crew store to try on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.

In particular, if you could mention a few of the noteworthy details like fit, size, fabric, and the like— that would be fantastic! Thanks in advance! :)

  1. J. Crew wants us to "freak out" at their amazing prices, I am freaking bewildered that there is no full-price promo. Unless there's an e-mail in the morning announcing an in-store discount I guess I will be staying strong and waiting til August to purchase my fall clothes.

    2. Also, another surprising aspect about this promo-less rollout is what other JCAs have noted -- why are so many summer items being released now, halfway through summer? The Shirting stripe items in particular should have been released in spring. I like the button-down chino skirt that comes in faded red/pink or mossy green, but it has a backorder date of Aug. 31st!

  2. I was thinking the same thing, still nothing I have to have at full price. Sale section has been updated, there are some good popbacks this morning.

  3. I am underwhelmed by the rollout and by the sale this morning. There is nothing I want full price, and there is nothing I want from sale (2500+ this morning) that is final sale, and it seems like all of it is final sale. I still can't believe J. Crew thinks its customers want to order things through the mail that they cannot try on, with no possibility of returning them if they don't fit? It is illogical. At least give it a 30 day return policy.

  4. Sale update worked out for me. I've wanted the Elsie geometric ankle tie pumps & my size popped back this morning. Nothing from the new roll out for me right now.

    2. Oh goody, the ostrich feather skirt no. 2943 is a steal! How could I have forgotten that each separate feather was individually hand-dyed.

  5. I love it when you are looking under your desk for part of your J.Crew earring that fell off and you find part of your J.Crew necklace from a couple of weeks ago that you never knew you lost...Nice quality J.Crew!

    1. Lol! I probably shouldn't laugh, though.

    2. That's OK. I also had the seam come out of my new Sunday slim patchwork plaid shorts last night when they came out of the delicate cycle. Gotta laugh to keep from crying. I can take them and easily get them fixed but really???

  6. Does anyone have a review for the Collection gauzy gingham cardigan? #F2053 Thanks in advance :-)

  7. How is it that you decided you don't need anything, that you are all shopped out and you end up buying the patio pant in olive and the (madewell 40% off!!!) stripe trench coat??!!

  8. I actually ordered a bunch of sale stuff this morning, mostly things I am sure will fit: ruched halter swimsuits (love this suit), gemmas, kikis, Valentinas. Only questionable splurge was the collection cashmere shirting blouse, but I'm pretty sure I will love it...

  9. Just before going to bed I checked out the site and glad I did. Free shipping and a big update to the sale section.

Scored a navy and brown tattersall shirt I missed out on this past winter. With the discount a merely $19, down from $84. Hello deal!

    1. Same here! Tippis were restocked in my size-two were $12 :O. Took a chance on a couple final sale items, too-possibly I'll-advised, but hopefully they'll work out. Congrats on your score!

  10. The flamingo midi pleated skirt was marked down to $34.99. I had just bought it so I got the price adjustment down to $17.50. I really love it for that price.

    1. Hey DD-did the fabric not bother you? I'm feeling silly because I reordered the flamingo top in a second size (both FS) last night. The first one hasn't shipped after several days, so I'm afraid it's gone. This one is sight unseen for me :/ But it looks so cute online!

    2. Not really. I know it is 100% polyester but I think it is really cute on and for the price, I can deal with the poly. I also have the shirt on order and it has shipped so I hope I like it as well. I am going to do navy/white stripe tee with the skirt like the online photo. I am really liking the midi skirt length. I got two comments on my clip dot midi, one I have already shared...looks like a chenille bedspread and another person said I was dressing like Michelle Obama. Have to laugh at how I am the fodder for style jokes in my office. Today I am wearing the bee tee and someone told me I was covered with bugs...Whatever happened to " I like your skirt/tee/whatever" or just don't say anything. I also picked up the eyelet Patio pant in white and for $24.99, I think they are pretty cute. The pockets were the only drawback for me because you could see them through the pants. Once I styled them, I didn't really pay that much attention to it.

    3. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! The skirt may be just beyond my tolerance for final sale without having seen it in person, but it looks adorable. I'm glad it worked out for you! Sorry your workmates need some manners-maybe they are trying to be witty/funny? I think sometimes folks are thrown off by those who enjoy dressing and showing their personality through their clothes. I was tempted by those eyelet patio pants, too, but ordered the suede ones instead. Fingers crossed they work...

  11. I haven't liked the suiting dresses very much recently, but I do like the new v-neck one. I'll wait for a promo though. The rest of the stuff is pretty meh, but we shouldn't expect much good stuff until the fall roll out I presume.

  12. I reviewed a lot of the new arrivals on my IG:

    -ruffle top in vivid brushstrokes
    -perfect shirt in fern print
-secretary tie top in retro chainlink
    -Sammie chinos
    -Avery heels
    -RomeParis and NY tee
    And more shoes and tops

  13. Hi, everyone, just received an invitation to brunch and a preview of the late summer/early fall inventory. It's at the store downtown, great store, but the inventory is sometimes a little sparse.
