  3. What has happened to Madewell's shipping??? I ordered a top on Sunday and it's now Wednesday and the item STILL hasn't shipped. So I wrote customer service and they were very laissez-faire and said that it should be here by June 2, but they don't know for sure. I think this is a scheme to get people to pay extra for expedited shipping and I don't appreciate it. I'll just stop ordering online from them if this is going to be their attitude. It never used to take 8 days for an order to arrive.

    1. JC/madewell shipping getting super slow for me recently too. Even worse, I keep paying the $8 for faster shipping and STILL not getting items within the 3-6 day window. It happened again this week. Miss the days when JC items arrived 2-3 days after order was placed. Shipping was sliding scale then and way more expensive, but surely we can find some kind of middle ground here?

  4. I emailed measurements for the tier eyelet midi dress regular vs petite . Turns out the length of the skirt part is slightly longer in the petite vs regular. I thought CS had gotten measurements mixed up and asked to recheck. Sure enough she said the bottom half of the dress in petite is longer than regular. Go figure!! Can someone explain this to me? Their sizing is still all over place, so thank you to those who do reviews so I can see the actual fit of the garment!

  5. Not a vent per se, so much as a disappointment. Two weeks ago, I bought that pretty cotton poplin wrap dress from my local JC store and because the length of the skirt was still a bit long on me (even in the Petite size! I'm a shortie!), the SAs offered the store's free alteration service. This is always a great deal, as hemming garments often costs quite a bit at my local tailor/dry cleaner. It's nice that JC offers this service and the SA told me it usually takes about a week or so for the dress to come back, but it's already been two weeks.... I've called the store and they reassured me that it's still not back (good thing I didn't need it for anything specific!) I also use the alteration service at Banana and theirs never takes more than a week. Oh well, not the end of the world, not 100% vent, but still a tiny bit of a surprise/disappointment.

    1. TM93 - This is why they don't tell ppl ike me what business they use for alterations. I'd be knocking on the door. Good luck and hope it arrives soon!

    2. Haha, thanks, Gigi! It's true though - good thing I didn't need the dress for a specific date, as it's two weeks today since I left it with them. I've called a few times and they keep telling me that they'll call when it's ready - that's really great, but they also said it would be ready 'in about a week' so not sure whether I can really believe what they say at this point. I'll head to the store later this week to see what's going on. (Would have gone today, but the hot weather finally kicked in, here in NYC and I had to use whatever remaining energy I had left to get myself home after work today!)

    1. +1 to this! the gingham shirt dress in size tall sold out in like 2 days, I am literally checking the website every day hoping it will be restocked! the tall inventory is so sparse for some items, it's frustrating.

  7. I have to wake up between 3-4 pacific standard time to get the elusive sold out items! I have luck but it does take determination! Lol!
