Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. Unfortunately one of my brand new painter tees has a big hole under the arm. Took the tag off but haven't even worn it yet. So yes, I will be headed to the store to return the defective tee. :(

    1. J. Crew is gross. That's so insulting that brand new clothes fall apart.

    2. I should have checked but I purchased a stack of them (on sale, of course) and this one is clearly defective. You can see where the stitching fell out as there is a string "chain" hanging out of the hole. It's too cold to wear a s/s tee right now anyway but I'm still disappointed to have to travel 40 minutes to J Crew. My local store was closed two years ago and I still miss that convenience!

    3. @shopalot I would just call the store and see if they'll issue you a refund (given how far you have to travel!). Online issued a refund of a defective item and didn't require the item back.

  2. Wow, that's amazing.
I left a comment in 'Vent' post. Two of my new painter tees got holes in the same place, the right under arm, and I'd only worn them each twice. I would have returned them, if I hadn't worn them. I was thinking maybe it was my fault they got holes so quickly. I guess not.
My older painters are holding up fine.

    1. maryeb, if you still have the holey tees, I'd definitely return them. Send Mr. Drexler an email; his assistants are extremely responsive. J Crew has been very good about replacing defective items for me in the past. Most of my clothes are from J Crew and I have had more than my share of defective merchandise. Fool me once . . . :)

  3. I went to jcrew today to make a few returns. I guess I am just underwhelmed lately as I can't really find anything I just have to have. I have purchased some things this year but have only kept 2 items. I did see two crystal cluster necklaces in the sale section if anyone is still looking for it. I think they were marked $79.99 before the extra 30% off. This was at the store in Greensboro, NC.

  4. No visit for me. I am shopping my closet (the selection is much better from years past).

  5. I won't be going this weekend. I really didn't see anything last weekend that made me want to return and purchase this week! Bummer!!

  8. I'm curious . . . I have several pairs of DULCI SUEDE KITTEN HEEL PUMPS, all in my regular size 10, and they all have a consistent and comfortable fit. I purchased the Tropical Sun color this week with the great markdown and promotion. I always purchase a couple pairs to try on to make sure I get the best fitting one. Both pairs were so tight, and when I held them up by the heels to another pair of Dulcis, they were noticeably shorter, like 1/2 a size. Unfortunately they are sold out in the next half size up. Anyone else experience this?????

    1. Oh no! Sorry this happened to you. I had thought about ordering a golden sun pair since the price is pretty good, but now I'm scared off.

    2. I've never worn them but tried on a calf hair pair at the store and they ran huge on me (size 8!). In previous years' Kikis and this year's Ava's I'm a 9. In the Elsie d'orsay I got an 8.5 but they're even large— I tried an 8 on in the store and they fit. Not sure what's going on with the shoes but sizing is definitely inconsistent.

    3. I never make a final choice on shoe sizes if I only try on the store display at J. Crew. I find them to be very stretched out. I'm almost always 1/2 size up and made the mistake a few times buying my true size based on a quick display try-on.

I do agree the sizing is all over the place in shoes at the moment. I'm never 7.5 in pumps at J. Crew, but took that in the stripe block heels & the Elsie D'Orsay.

    4. @gigi, great point about the display model. I tried the floor display Laila suede wedge and couldn't believe the 8 fit me as 99% of the time I'm a solid 9 in Jcrew shoes. The nice SA went and got me a fresh pair of sz 8 and I decided I'd better try them luckily as they were pretty tight. I seem to be between 8 and 81/2 in the Laila so the floor model actually worked best sadly.

    5. jan - Wow. Too bad the shoes are so off right now.

    6. As always Gigi, you are spot on. Very helpful input.
On the Ducli kitten heels in tropical sun that were available and are now gone.. Could that have been another oversight from JC on an item that will be part of a next rollout? It has happened before..

    7. Hey Nan, I don't know if it was a pricing mistake, but they are sold out. I did see that there was one size left, so that makes me think they were put on sale for whatever reason even if it was an error.

If they had realized the markdown was a pricing mistake, they would've pulled them and there would've been no sizes avail. Hope I'm making sense. Just getting going here.

    8. ...yep, don't have it together yet. I neglected to mention that as recent as last nite I saw one size left.

    9. Hope you are right and I'm wrong... But remember the blazer C0577? It appeared on the sale section way before it appeared on the rollout (just to disappear on the next day...reappearing again a day or two after that.. and then pulled out completely? It took a while for JC to figure it out)
I just thought that being a color that no one saw before then you have the yellow jewelry that is out..maybe,right?
Looking forward to seeing pictures of people stlying their yellow dulcis:)

    10. I was thinking the same thing, kind of like they did with the Kikis awhile back too, and either the Dulci or d'orsay also, which they then pulled.

  10. I went in to make a return and ended up purchasing two shirts -- the marigold boy shirt and the hyacinth boy shirt in crinkled gingham. The funny thing is, I didn't feel like trying on so just grabbed the size 6 in both, but at checkout, the very helpful SA said the crinkled gingham runs large so definitely get a smaller size. I said -- but they are both boy shirts! She shrugged; "I know!" Sure enough, the size 6 marigold was the same width at the shoulders as the size 2 in the gingham. I ended up getting the 4 (still w/o trying), just because I personally really don't like fitted shirts and don't mind loose ones...

  11. How did I miss the gingham sundress this week? Super cute!

    1. That's what I was thinking! I think it showed up today or yesterday. Agree it's really cute and like the longer length but am wondering if it would be matronly on. Hope someone tries it and reports back - the store I was at yesterday didn't have it.

    2. The description says the straps are "bra friendly," but the straps criss-cross in the back. So, unless it's a convertible bra, it's not exactly bra friendly. Whoever wrote that doesn't actually wear bras or didn't actually look at the dress.

  12. I think it may look cute on....but my first impression was an apron.
too in the kitchen. but I reserve the right to change my mind.

    1. My thought too. I much prefer Madewell's gingham-ish courier shirtdress in buffalo check (which runs large; I am typically in S (or size 4) in shirt dresses but I definitely needed the XS in this one).

  14. It looks like there are more new items on-line than there were for Wednesday's roll-out. Either that, or I'm terribly unobservant.

    1. @maryeb, haha, I noticed that, too! Definitely some new items that weren't there before. I love polka dots and I would've noticed that Carrie cami sooner. Also liked that Embroidered linen top.

    4. The button front dress in white denim looks new. I also didn't notice the madras shirtdress. Maybe they need a New in New Arrivals category.

    5. There will be a rollout the week of the 11 th and it will be a bigger one.HTH

    6. The "roll out" was early last week but at the end of the week several new things arrived in store that are "early release" for the next big roll out the week of April 18. I think there will be a new Style Guide for that one...

  16. no in store visit for me, but I made an online order: the new sailor button chino shorts in white with the promo, and the sunday slim chino ('pre order' ... now on sale) in belvedere red, also a few of the new ballet neck tees. I thought about the weekend pant too, as it's on sale now, but I thought I better cut myself off.

  17. Hello Crew ladies! I like the new items they snuck in! Was wondering about the sweatshirt, it says loose fit, should I size down then? I don't want it too baggy.

    1. Anna Maria, I usually size down when it says loose fit (although you can lose length doing that if length is a concern). Maybe give cs a call and get measurements to give you a better idea. HTH

  18. I didn't visit but I did grab the ivory sleeveless coat which showed up in my size this morning. I put it in my cart, started to have second thoughts, went to the gym and it was still there when I got back so I ordered it. As I'm looking at the snow outside, I'm realizing that coats are always a given in my closet :) I hope it works out and proves to be functional, even if I'm probably packing it away until next fall.

    2. Anne, that collection sleeveless coat is wonderful! It's highly functional in my opinion and will look great with so many JC options like the wool patio, double serge wool pencil skirt or even jeans. I ordered the ivory originally, but returned it because it was too close in color to a Vince silver grey leather vest I bought this fall. I did, however, order the camel when it popped back in my size. Can't wait til it arrives next week. Another example of it paying to wait on a sale at JC! Hope it works for you!

    3. I have this in the camel. It's amazingly versatile. Hope you love it!

    4. I have it in camel as well. Glad I tried it, as I was reluctant at first. Size 0 works, even for a shorty like me! :-)

  19. I caved and ordered some things online that I'd been waiting for a good price on. The cap sleeve dress in super 120s wool (e4684) in baltic blue, and the drop waist pleated skirt in super 120s wool (b8175), and a few other things. Those 2 in particular though, finally hit sale price with the extra 30% off. Very curious about the dress haven't seen it on any bloggers or anyone IRL.

  20. Hey again. I tried on the textured sheath dress, review on Gigi's Gone Shopping. Thumbsup, but I swear their sheaths are running tighter. Anyone?
