  1. HUGE VENT...ordered the burgundy downtown field jacket last week and now that color just went on clearance..I paid $111 with promo and that color is now $83...Really mad...Does anyone know if they give a price adjustment withiin 7 days of item arrival or 7 days of items ship date???? And do you think if I am past 7 days by a little bit they would still do the price adjustment and would I have a better shot at getting it in store or online??? sorry for all the questions, just so incredibly frustrated.

    1. OMG, I saw that jacket while browsing thru sale this AM and remembered there was a JCA who was asking about whether it ever went on sale. To answer your question: price adjustments are granted within 7 days of ship, not 7 days of placing your order. If you're outside of that window, I would STILL call and ask -- they may honor it as a 'one-time courtesy adjustment', so long as you haven't asked for similar past-window price adjustments within the past few months (I think it's something they allow frequent shoppers once or so per calendar year.)

If that doesn't work, I would go ahead and re-order at the sale price, for sure. Sorry about the frustration, totally get it, it is totally warranted!! I've been frustrated with cheaper purchases (I bought a bunch of camis on sale at 30% last Friday, now they're 40%, damn Skippy if I don't call for a PA! But it's annoying to have to play these games.) Good luck, I think it will work out for you.

  2. Don't be frustrated. Email and most likely you will get a price adj. it's 7 days from ship date. I have items I also ordered last week that haven't even arrived and I'm going to email for an adjustment. Just give your order number and style number.

    1. I will call...Promo is good today only so want a speedy resolve...I think item may have shipped more than 7 days ago but not honestly sure...will check tonight but even if over 7 days it would only be 2-3 days over and I have never gotten a price adjustment before on an online order so I hope they can honor this.

    2. I always call CS for any price adjustments. Give them your order number, tell them that the item is on sale and you would like a price adjustment. CS is very nice!

    3. I almost always email and they respond usually within an hour, and yes, they are always helpful and accommodating!

    4. The eyelet top with collar I ordered last week for $66 is $35.99 today, and the circle mini is also further reduced, so yes, I emailed!

    5. I just checked, and yes, a few of the things I ordered last week (that haven't even arrived yet) are even less with the new promo. Will email CS. In the past they've always honored my request and responded quickly.

    6. @Suz Has, what did you think of the eyelet top?

    7. Haven't gotten it yet it's due to be delivered today.

    8. @Suz Has, pls let me know what you think of the circle mini -- I ordered and received mine today in the black color, thinking of ordering in either the pink or red/papaya -- it's so cute!

    9. Jan, I like the eyelet top. The color actually is almost the same as the circle mini. I was hoping to wear the two together but the eyelet top is very wide through the body on me and can't really be tucked. It has a retro housewife vibe. I'll have to try it a little with other items before I can see if it works for me and I give a full review.
TM93. I like the circle mini. Color and texture are great. It's all wrinkled though. I have to try it with a few tops to see what works. I got the smaller of my two sizes based on other skirts and it's high on my waist.

    10. @Suz Has, thank you! I found it too wide for tucking too.

    11. Is practical for you to go to a store and ask for a PA, then if not say then I want to return as it went to a markdown so quickly
(of course you have to be prepared to follow through with that) and see what happens

  3. Recently I ordered a few things from J.Crew, including a popback I really wanted. Since the order was over $150, I selected free shipping through UPS Surepost. Fast forward a few days, I got a notification saying the package was delivered. I went to my leasing office, no package. Checked my mailbox, no package. Checked outside my apartment, no package. Clearly it was misdelivered or just lost. When I called UPS, they told me it wasn't their responsibility, because they had handed it off to USPS.

I called the 1-800 number for USPS, and they told me to call my local post office. So I did that. I called them twice, went there in person three times, and still haven't gotten anyone to even look into what happened to my package! I'm completely fed up with them at this point. Clearly they don't care to actually look into the matter since they keep blowing me off (by continuously telling me that they'll look into it and call me back but never do).

On the bright side, J.Crew immediately refunded me when I called customer service. However, what I really wanted was the item I ordered! Grrr.

Honestly, I want J.Crew to switch back to UPS as the free shipping option, instead of this UPS Surepost nonsense!

    1. I've had that happen as well (a couple times actually). CS was great and immediately refunded me as well, but both items I had ordered were out of stock by that point. It was so frustrating getting the runaround from USPS and UPS when all I wanted was my package!

    2. My packages always are shipped surepost too but then they always end up being delivered by UPS. It will say on the tracking we will be in your area so we will deliver the package instead of the post office..I live in a high volume area where UPS goes everyday so that is why I am sure.

    3. one time i had a package "delivered" and it wasn't... what happened was that it was transferred from UPS to USPS and USPS marked it as delivered even tho it was sitting on their dock. i eventually got the package but it was very annoying to say the least.

    4. Our post office has taken to reporting that pkgs are "delivered" hours before they're even in the neighborhood. This does not inspire confidence.

    5. @Miss JR @ wellfedfred, same here. Usps tracking showed that a package had been delivered last Saturday w/ such pkg nowhere to be found. I called CS and was told that "sometimes" usps does that(?!?). CS instructions were to wait 7 days (from shipping) and then call back. So JC is aware of this usps practice.

    6. Should have said that I called CS on Tuesday..

  4. I live in the Washington, DC area and receive most of my deliveries by UPS – even though they are supposed to hand it off to USPS, I often see a message that they are "in the area" and will drop it off at my apartment complex. On several occasions, I have received a "Delivered" notification when UPS has delivered to USPS (not me). In order to make sure it is not a mis-delivery, I call UPS who can always verify for me quickly that it was taken to USPS and that I should receive the package the next day (which I do). On the two occasions that there was an actual mis-delivery by UPS, UPS found my packages and got them to me. Unfortunately, I've not had the same luck with USPS - getting them to look into ANYTHING is a chore and compared to UPS, they are much less customer friendly. I was able to retrieve one package, but had no luck with a second situation where they insisted it was delivered (and were pretty rude about it). My lost purchase was from the Gap who actually issued me a refund (that was nice!). So, bottom line is that UPS will take customer-friendly steps to resolve your problem (and they always did for me), but it’s all on you if it’s USPS. Ugh.

    2. I vented about this a few weeks ago. My chateau parka that I ordered this year and like Blake only wore once/twice a week also got a hole in the lining. I was very careful with it as I have a Captain's Coat from 2 or 3 years ago that got torn to shreds. Very frustrating as even the sale price paid does not make it a throw away coat.

  6. Has anyone tried boy shirt in cotton/tencel Oxford and the Ruffled buttoned up. I am curious about sizes. They say they run small. I am 34c, 115lbs. Usually wear xs in their sweaters. Anyone else tried these.... Thank you all...

    1. I got the Ruffled button up in the light blue color. Pretty sure I got my usual button down size 2. In most of the sleeveless tops I've taken a 0. I tend to size up in shirts because I am long waisted and have an athletic build. (Sort of--meaning I'm broader across the back but have a very small waist.)

    2. Thanks! I did order both in size 2 yesterday will see how they fit. No final sale so hopefully can exchange if too small. I usually do xs in sweaters, have some loose silk top in 0 and 2 jeweled bow tops one in 4 and in 2... Really no different. But never tried their button ups. Thanks again

  7. I keep getting a ONE DOLLAR charge from J Crew on my checking account. I checked yesterday and I had SEVEN of them!!! WTF? Does anyone know what all these one dollar charges are?

    1. You should notify your bank and dispute charges. This could be an identity theft issue where small amounts are being deducted from your account. My son is an attorney and this type of fraud, if that's what it is, can allow for large sums of money to be stolen because the amounts are so small and don't really garner any attention. Hope this is not the case, but you should probably take action to get to the bottom of it.

    2. Do you use a JC card? Do you pay your JC bill with checks or electronically? call the CS of the JC bank and report these charges. Your card may have been "compromised." Request a new card, same as if your card had been lost or stolen. Don't wait.

      Delete
    3. J.Crew places a one dollar temporary charge on your card whenever you make a return. They will apply separate one dollar charges for each credit you're going to receive. I have also noticed lately that there will be a one dollar charge when making a purchase, as well. The one dollar charge for the return or purchase normally drops off within several days though. If it does not, you should definitely contact your bank.

      Delete
    4. I wouldn't wait another minute. When there is fraud they usually start " testing" the card / acc with very small amounts ( purchase of a soda for instance ), then a charge for gas ( not significant that would raise suspicion from the bank side ); after these initial few attempts to test the card/acc, they move quickly to big items. Act.

  8. Last week I ordered a hooded coverup in black and white stripe. It's actually navy. Tag says black but it's not. Oh well. (It won't match my Black and black and white stripe bathing suits.)

  9. What's the deal with the Sleeveless scalloped top in blue- I have only ever seen it almost sold out online. I hadn't been to the website in ages but I checked it out when I got my style guide in mid-March. It looks like it sold out right away, no restock ever?

Also, really peeved about the change to the 'cotton' Jackie cardigans. They were the only thing I was still getting at JC- I loved the cropped fit and 3/4 sleeves and won't be buying them anymore now that the sleeves are long and the cut is changed. I bought a last navy blue one on clearance for old times sake. sigh.

  10. Arghhhhh!! Jcrew!
What's the point of sending me a discount code for 20% off my next purchase if I can't use it on the item I want to order!!!!

  11. International shipping is just terrible. It takes over two weeks to get anything, and if an item needs to be returned there is a convoluted process to go through AND the return shipping is NOT covered. Add to this, we pay much higher prices internationally. I am not going to order from the international sites any more. Just not worth it. Will wait til I am visiting the US to make any orders. J Crew needs to take lessons from Net-a-porter.
