Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

    2. agreed re: sale. Didn't get anything this morning but did make purchases Wednesday and yesterday! On topic, probably won't make it to a store this weekend but will peruse online per usual.

  2. No trip to the store for me, but I am still looking for the Lotus Pavé Earrings at the sale price w/extra % off, so if anyone happens to see them, please let me know.

In other shopping-related news...I've shared my weekly list of sales & deals from retailers around the web in this post for those interested. Lots of extra good deals taking place this weekend, too. :)

    1. Forgot to mention that I've also shared my personal picks from each of the retailers on my list. :)

    2. Hi Melissa, have you tried calling a store and asking them to check store wide inventory for the earrings? I've had luck with that even when cs says they're sold out. Hope you find them!

    3. That's a great idea, Jan...thanks for the reminder! :)

  3. Off topic, but for any Boden fans out there, there's a nice restock in the clearance section. I was able to purchase a couple dresses and three pairs of shoes that had previously been sold out! :)

  4. Off topic but just saw an article that says J. Crew is doubling amt of the mercantile (factory) stores it will open this year...ohhh boy...this is certainly the beginning of the end now...way to cheapen the J. Crew brand and then people certainly won't want to pay full price at the retail store...J. Crew is going to go the way of Coach..oversaturated and cheapened...Coach is coming back these days as an exclusive brand again but it's hard a road to be on and hard to come back from ...soo good luck on J. Crew!

    1. I visited a factory store last weekend. What a disappointment. Even the t-shirts were a polyester blend. I used to buy tons at J Crew when I would go the outlet mall but not anymore. There are a few pieces that are still mostly cotton and I do like a few of the jewelry pieces but the rest of it is crummy fabric copies of previous J Crew designs. No thanks.

    2. So agree RN - Coach really blew it with oversaturation. If JC wants to pursue fast fashion so much, make a whole separate name and label (Old Navy was not called "Gap mercantile"). It drags the JC name down (not like their quality is really stellar past few years but still). SO MANY "J Crew" things I see on eBay are actually factory but not stated as such. Do people think they are the same or just unaware?

    3. Business Insider has an article on JC too, besides renevue(still bad) mentions how hard it has been to convince customers to pay full price. The necessary evil that is a sale to clear stock and overpriced items with every so often a % discount seems to have put JC into that category of retailers.. Factory seems to be doing well so no surprise on the news of more Mercantile stores (no cheers from me as everything that I ever got from factory has been a disappointment/return)
Aside from here and there sizing & fabric quality issues , JC still is my fave/preferred retailer. I hope they rebound.

    4. To Julie Taylor - I think some re-sellers know what they are doing (passing off Factory as Retail), but others probably have no idea - as long as it says J.Crew, then it's J.Crew. I can name half a dozen people (women included) that would have no idea what I was talking about if I held up two shirts and asked them identify the Retail vs. Factory shirt (hint: tags and label). I gave up on the "But shouldn't they know what they are selling?" logic a long time ago - it's really "buyer beware". I've encountered some sellers who are pretty conscientious - one Poshmark seller posted extra photos so I could verify that a bracelet (that was in-store only) was retail. And I ended up purchasing it :-) Cheers - Jennifer

  5. OT: I spotted several pairs of JC shorts at TJ Maxx yesterday. Mostly 3" chinos and Andies from spring '15. I forget exactly what prices, but I think all were under $20.

  6. So question bought a full price skirt with promo with staining and a broken zipper that was shipped from a store and obviously worn. I contacted cs via chat and she refunded my credit card and I got a refund email with the status pre-return. So (and not that I'd do it but thought crossed my mind) what happens if I don't return it? CS just said return to store and he credit card has been refunded. Has anyone experienced this?

    1. I have on several occasions. I always take the item into the store and let them know the situation. I don't know what would happen if you didn't take it back as I would never not take it back. If it is not convenient for you to go to a store, I know they will send you a prepaid shipping label to save you a trip.

      Delete
    2. I searched this site and quite a few commenters from 2013 said they never returned the item and it wasn't charged back. So odd, maybe she forgot to offer the prepaid shipping label. And I guess I'll try to go in the store sometime this weekend, gah.

I am just so frustrated with this item and I guess I wanted to make a point in keeping it, I spend over $160 and the dress is thrown in a ball and OBVIOUSLY you can see it is damaged, I peeled off dust bunnies and asked my husband to fix the zipper and the closer which was wide open and to top of it off there's freaking black stains on the front on a blush color.

      Delete
    3. They probably wouldn't end up re-charging you but I think it makes more of a point to return it and show the condition of the item.

      Delete
    4. yeah CS was more than helpful on chat and she was apologetic and refunded but i'll take it and point it WHY I requested the refund (so these things get fixed in the future).

    5. and I'd like to add i think both me and the CS that packaged the dress are having a grumpy day haha

  7. I managed to get my hands on a W.Britt for JCrew bar necklace in onyx that I've been stalking. I have the double band ring and love it, and was thinking that the necklace would be cool to have (I don't have any collar-type necklaces).

  8. Black & white feather necklace, hehe - and I'm the girl who doesn't wear feathers and won't wear junk jewelry. Oh happy day.

  9. This may have been mentioned... Just saw the movie "Iris" about the fashion mogul and there was a gushing moment from Jenna... Very cool.

  10. I really want a couple of new arrivals; love the Lacoste polos, but $128 CDN? Really?

Then the coach's jacket item e9909. Looks a retro version of the jacket my dad wore in the 70s coaching hockey; but $259 for a poly wind jacket with fleece lining? Come on J.Crew, really?

So instead I hit Club Monaco, some free shipping on three sale items; two pair of chinos and a beautiful wool mock neck cable sweater in camel. For about the same price as the polo with shipping. Bye 'crew.

    1. Ralph Lauren has 30% off everything including sale right now. There are Ralph Lauren men's polos at 39.99 US which means a sale price of 27.99. I like Lacoste too but I'm having really good luck with Ralph Lauren lately.

    2. Elizabeth I agree, Ralph makes a great one. I have several of the slim cut ones and can often find them on sale.

    3. I love buying Ralph Lauren for my husband and little boys, especially my kids I love their items. I often pay less for RL than for crewcuts. It's hard to find RL in Canada at decent prices (find the few department stores are priced high) except the outlet store is pretty good for sales. I usually buy RL when we're in the US at Bloomingdales or lord and Taylor although our exchange rate isn't helping much.

    4. jan I love hitting the Polo store too at an outlet and agree that there are too few places to find Polo here in Canada. The exchange rate is terrible.

  11. Thumbs up for the patio pants in skinny stripes. Well-made classic J.crew, worth it with current % off. I took my usual size in skirts. Comfy crisp cotton, something different from the usual cropped skinnies they have been putting out. Perfect for casual days at work and weekends.

    1. Excellent! Those are the ones with the cuffs, right?

      Delete
    2. I agree. I haven't worn mine yet but maybe this week. The cuff is very cute and is one of those touches that I look for from J. Crew - still classic pants but a nice little updated twist. I think these pants could also be relatively dressy with a bright shell, linen blazer, and heels.

  12. I got the Billie Demi-Boot crop jeans in white and I am a fan. I tried both the tall and the regular length (I'm 5'8") and the regular length is a perfect crop for me and I liked that they aren't overly flared. The denim is lightweight and they are a bit high waisted but I found them to be comfortable and flattering. You can see photos and a brief review on my blog here.

  13. Off Topic- purchased the factory tassel bucket tag a week ago (and it arrived in two days *shocked*). I thought it might be a bit small, but it's the perfect size for me. It makes me carry less stuff lol. I can fit my iphone 6+, my LV Sarah wallet, and my sunglasses in it's hard case. I used the Gilt promo and it ended up being $34.40 and free shipping! Whee!

    1. Hi unknown, a Canadian store told me the week after Easter (last week of March). I'm wondering if it's still mostly items from April style guide that didn't get to the stores yet? I hope there will be enough pieces we haven't seen yet.

  17. Didn't make it to the store - but ordered two online only skirts - the circle mini in crinkle crepe and the "flouncy" striped skirt with the 25% off promo (the circle mini was on promo, too, so it got 30% off).

I just noticed the flouncy skirt (that's such a silly word) today; I think it must have been part of the last rollout.

Anyone had any luck/experience with those two? I've had such bad luck with J.Crew lately, but both look so promising!

  18. Went to my store (Honolulu) this afternoon and saw a few pairs of the Elsie glossy leather D'orsay pumps in navy (vintage indigo) and metallic (don't know the official name) size 9, 9.5, 10 for $39.99 before additional 30% off. Good deals in case anyone's interested.
