  1. Love seeing the sold-out item on my wishlist show up as "SALE - Only a Few Left". ; )

  2. Now you need to tell us what it is!

  4. I know they're old news but I just love the Martie pant. I was a big Minnie person before but I like the Marties so much better. That extra little bit of length + POCKETS? Thank you, thank you, thank you. Hope they release some new fun colors for SP/SU 16!

    1. I still love both styles. I'm wearing an old pair of dark green Minnies today and find myself wishing J. Crew would keep both styles - they are just different enough that I can justify having both available in many colors. :)

    2. How is the sizing on the Martie pant compared to the Minnie? Yep, I'm late to the party:)

    3. I size up one in the cotton marties....up 2 in the wool ones.

    4. Same, Unknown! When I finally got the right fit I was very pleased. :)

    5. Thanks for the sizing info. @unknown and @taylor.
One for cotton, two for wool!

  5. I order enough online from J.Crew and other retailers that I experience the inevitable shipping screw up such as a wrong item in the package, or an item left out of the package. I recently worked with another retailer where one of the two items that was supposed to be shipped to me was omitted from the box. An "investigation" has been opened, and I'll find out the results in about 3 days. This is similar to a process I went through with another retailer when the item I ordered was never shipped at all. I definitely understand the need to prevent unnecessary loss of inventory and figure out where the missing item is, but with J.Crew, one call to CS solves the problem. JC refunds the price of the omitted item then promptly places another order (provided the item is still available) right away. This communicates that they trust the customer and they have a streamlined process that authorizes their representatives to take immediate action to remedy the situation. This is one reason that I remain a loyal customer.

    1. Yes, yes, yes. I've had the same thing happen to me - with JC & another company & the actions are exactly the same as you described! Also - if they send me the wrong item, they immediately ship a replacement even before they get the other item back.

    2. Absolutely! ! Twice in one week I received incorrect items. I emailed J Crew and the customer service I received was flawless. I have never had a smoother more satisfying experience. I am a loyal J Crew customer for several reasons...excellent customer service is a big one!

    4. Yes! I've had issues in the past where Gap brands didn't include an item in an order, and their solution was to send it to me with signature required at delivery. I'm like, "I don't need to be home to accept delivery on a $10 tee, I just need you to put it in the box to begin with!" ; )

    5. I had an order from Old Navy/Gap last month that was missing a $5 headband -- I called and they didn't question it at all (the fact that it was a $5 item probably had something to do with it, lol). The rep was even going to send the headband 2-day air until I told her that ground was fine. I was really pleasantly surprised at how easy it was -- I was dreading making the phone call because of the experiences I've had with other retailers before.

    6. I agree this is where J Crew really shines. Sometimes I forget how great their CS is, until I encounter an issue with another retailer ;)

    7. Totally! I recently ordered several items at SpaceNK. Four items were listed on their website but apparently out of stock and could not be fulfilled. I received an email informing me that they did me a "courtesy" to ship the rest of the order and waived shipping (order total dropped below Free Shipping minimum). It was their mistake in the first place not to be on top of inventory. Had I not made the Free Shipping minimum, I would not have placed the order!

J.Crew would not have quibbled about this at all.

  8. I called CS to get sizing information this morning and when she asked if I would like to go ahead and place the order with her, I said "yes." When she gave me the total for the order, it was exactly the same as if I had placed the order on-line which is good- except in all my time with J Crew, I have never been charged shipping on a CS order. When I asked about it, she said that she could see that I had been extended this courtesty in the past and she would waive shipping as a courtes- this time, but it would not be applied to future orders. What? When did this change? Have I been in an alternate universe??? (apologies for the deletions- typing too fast typos!)

    1. Maybe. If there isn't a general free shipping promotion going on that day, and your order doesn't meet the free ship minimum of $150, then it is a courtesy. I believe VPS's will waive shipping on an order that doesn't meet the minimum as long as one of the items is full price.

    3. s always I am obsessing on something that may not even fit me. When it does go on sale, I'll have to order both colors to try. I don't want to order it just to try. I did a lot of ordering/returning last fall, I'm tired of going to a B&M.

Cousy - Have you tried it before? My size 0 in ivory currently has two in inventory; I hope it doesn't go out of stock. If not, its camel.

  10. Anyone know or have an idea when reward cards will arrive?

    1. When it was issued it said on my JCrew CC online that it would take 4-6 weeks from 1/2/16. So probably 1st or 2nd week of Feb, everyone should be receiving their rewards in the mail.

Another lame thing with J.Crew is their rewards card. Wish it was instant access where we receive a code to use right away. 4-6 weeks is a long time to wait. The stuff you want to buy might've sold out already if you wanted to apply your rewards!

  11. While I was not that impressed with the new arrivals at J.Crew, there is quite a bit I'm loving over at Madewell with their latest rollout. I've shared my personal picks & thoughts in this post.

  12. OOTD is leather panel dress from Fall 2014. Love this dress; it's so stylish & has just enough edge to be cool. Lots of compliments on the dres @ luncheon today. Wish JC would do more of this for fall/winter. Wore it with black Loubie slingbacks & a leather trim sonar wool jacket from Helmut Lang. I'm also loving the cashmere wrap in heather midnight that I received recently. It's very soft and the color is a nice, deep saturated blue. Wore it last night to Bible study with the buffalo check shirt jacket in navy/white, waffle stripe tee in red/navy, excursion vest in navy/white buffalo check & navy Saturday pants. Look was cute & comfy. Finally, loving the suede fringed skirt that Ema was rockin' on her IG. Haven't received it yet, but hoping this will be a spring winner.

  13. OT:
Noticed case jewelry is on sale in store 30% off. Students and educators, can you tell me if you can combine the 30% off with your student/educator discount?

    2. Haven't tried it but as far and I know you can combine with any promo unless its a full store promo...ie whole store 25 percent off...also new recently they won't let you combine that discount with the clearance once it becomes 50 percent off or more...bummer!

  14. Shoes and accessories 60% off (sale items) at Copley Boston.

Tons of sale clothes in petite sizes. Not much in regular sizes.

I bought pink Dulci's for $40, high rise lookout jeans for $45 - surprisingly successful on my pudgy self (jeans are tough for me) - and a navy striped long sleeve T at FP.

  15. OT - Did anyone get an email about a J.Crew 'New, Now Event' that will happen this Saturday (all day). Snacks will be served.

I might go only because i have to return something at Madewell. But I am trying to avoid downtown for two weeks, with SF hosting the Superbowl (ugh).

    2. I did as well. I tend to avoid the mall on weekends, so I wouldn't go anyway!

    3. I got one (and I'm in Canada, if that matters). I suspect I won't be going, as I have no reason to go downtown on Saturday and wouldn't make a special trip just for an event like that. That said, I've never attended one of these before. Is there usually anything special going on aside from snacks?

  16. Looking forward to my order arriving next week. I'm trying the Chateau raincoat, Teddy pants, and the deco floral popover.
