JCA "Help Style Me!" Weekly Post

This is the weekly "Help Style Me!" post, where we can share items we are having trouble putting outfits together with. Elaine (in this post) says it best, "You know, that thing you bought because you love it and you keep pulling it out and then putting it away without wearing it?"

Please share your J.Crew item (either that you own or are thinking about getting) that you would love help creating an outfit with.

Also, please help out by offering your styling advice. Feel free to include links to your blog (where you incorporated that piece) or to Polyvore (where you showcased an outfit with that piece). Thanks in advance! :)

  2. Ok ladies, I shared a bit of style inspiration in this post on my blog earlier in the week. The look could easily be recreated with J.Crew items, but I've also shared additional 'Get the Look' alternatives if you're interested in recreating it.

  3. I am styling some work holiday outfits on my blog today, including the drapey V-neck silk blouse in belvedere red, collection wide leg pants in ivory, crystal rosette necklace and the tartan Elsie pumps. You can see it on my blog here

  4. Am I nuts to be considering the wide leg pants in the feather print? They're either terrific or awful. Thoughts?

    1. I saw a skirt in the print on clearance and thought it was pretty but it's a lot less material than the pants! I'm more of a minimalist with prints (other than a little plaid, leopard and stripes) but if you love it, go for it. I almost feel if you do, get the top too and go all the way with it.

  5. I just got the collection (?) snakeskin loafers/oxfords---ugh they are SOOO NICE! But that long toe issue--it's like a thumb width and a half gap from the tip of my toe to the end of the shoe. Other than that it feels fine- anyone have this shoe and did you size down? also ideas to wear it with the colors and beautiful blue and green...I was thinking with jeans....maybe a blue school boy blazer or the black watch school boy blazer....hmmmmm

    1. I recently bought them and am a total fan. I went with my usual 8.5 and the toe length made me consider sizing down but at the same time I can walk comfortably in them so I'm just going to stick with my size. These shoes are a little off the beaten path for me but they are a great neutral shoe when all is considered and go with a lot. I'm wearing them with Jcrew Piped trousers in grey from a few years back. Jeans would work too. The school boy blazer would look great. I just received the Preston denim trousers today and am debating what I think about them as I type this.

  7. I'm styling the Gingham Excursion Vest on my blog today. I paired it with the Factory jeans that I love so much. Vest sizing is true to Excursion size. It's nicely made and trimmed.
