  1. I am loving that I am wearing my midnight floral garden pants to work today and even they are a little tight across the thighs when I sit, I think they are loosening up a bit. Already got one compliment. They are very pretty and I got them on super sale.

  3. Did anyone receive an email from Madewell's preview on their fall collection?
You can preorder early before it is released.

The styling is very youthful, might be a tad sloppy for my taste, but if you pick and choose there are some pieces to covet.

    1. I did too and felt the same way about the styling but based on your post I will take a closer look. I have purchased some wonderful items from them in the past and happily paid full price.

    2. I completely agree with your assessment. At first, when I saw the styling, it all looked a little too "normcore" / sloppy to me. But when I clicked on the images and really looked at the individual pieces, there were a few things I liked. There's a chunky turtleneck sweater and a reversible vest that look nice. I'm curious about the "Perfect Fall" jeans. Its hard to see them properly in the picture because they are worn with a giant blanket poncho.

    3. I stopped by Madewell today, and asked an SA and she said fall merchandise hit the stores mid-August. Pre-fall comes next week, I think??

    4. So all the hoopla about preordering at Madewell. I sent an email asking for price, colors and possible additional pics. This is the reply. WTF.

Thanks so much for your interest in the Mini Glasgow Crossbody Bag! Sadly, we do not have any finalized prices or any more photos available at this time. The bag is due to debut in August for $148, but this price is subject to change. Our vendors and designers are still working on putting the line together, so we do not have the specifics just yet. So sorry about that. You can certainly place the pre-order and then if you're not satisfied with your purchase you can return it. Just let me know if you are interested in placing a pre-order!

  4. I love the Gold Elephant Sweatshirt from Factory new arrivals. Does anyone know if these new arrivals are in stores yet?

  5. As a certified crazy cat lady, I love the kittens in the style guide. Not sure why or how I randomly got sent this one because I hadn't received a style guide in ages, but it was like a sign from the cat gods or something.

    1. disco george, this made me LOL!

I'm finding quite a bit to love in crewcuts lately for the little girls in my life - specifically the 60% off sale items. I got the girls' sequin pull-on skirt for my niece for $18 and she loves it. Definitely some fun things in there (none of which are worth FP, but on sale worth trying)!

  6. OT. Just a comment about the J Crew free shipping offer today. Once again there were lots of items that were 40% off but not final sale, so poke around. I did place an order for some sale items, striped Tippi and seersucker skirt, neither final sale. Even some colors of the sale Tippis are final sale and others not. One comment on the discussion of the sleeve length on the new Tippis, the description on the regular says bracelet length but the petite says 3/4, so not sure the actual length, anyone seen them IRL?

    1. Thank you so much for the info re: certain sale items NOT final sale. I missed out on that particular striped Tippi last time around so I ordered it along with a few cardigans. Really appreciate how helpful everyone is on this blog!

    2. Shopalot, you are welcome. That striped Tippi is a repeat from years ago right?

    3. I believe it is a repeat; I have the other colorway (gray/camel) but I always wanted this one. Maybe they found a big box of them hidden in the warehouse?? :)

    4. LOL, I thought the same thing when I first saw it or maybe Tom had the box under his desk. I bought the grey/camel one on EBay this past winter.

    5. @JRSConifwr i bought the merlot tippi and find it softer and maybe slightly thinner (for me in a good way). Sleeve length has not changed, maybe they got a little longer but they are still bracelet length. hTH

    6. Thanks Ina. I think the conflicting descriptions and the hard to see actual sleeve length online got everyone confused. I know silver_lining said she purchased a sale and new Tippi to do a comparison. I must admit I don't know the difference between bracelet and 3/4???

    7. Ina, the Merlot is my favorite, saw it this afternoon. Sleeves look like they could be a bit longer but I really could not tell just by eyeballing it.

    8. JRSConifer, 3/4 sleeves hit at mid-forearm, and barecelet length a little short of the wrist (so you can show off your bravelets, hence the name). If the sleeves are longer, I don't mind, but I hope they didn't mess with the fit!

    9. Ok, bracelets is mispelled twice but I get A for effort? :)

    10. Yes, you do and thank you. My arms must be really short, because 3/4 is a bracelet on me.

  7. Written on their Looks We Love page:
"Make an (under)statement in neutral tones and simple silhouettes. Because sometimes less is really more...."
Gives me sooo much hope for the better future @ JCrew!

  8. Ok, you know what I love? Free shipping. I just bought a few sale things that I've been thinking about - and the free shipping is what pushed me over to the "buy" decision.

    1. That paillette dress looks lovely on you - tempting, but where would I wear it?!

    2. Hi Ina - I saw the handkerchief print of the dress and the skirt at the store today, I wasn't feeling the print. It looks more spring/summer than a fall print to me. Do you like it?

      Delete
    3. @JSR no i wasnt feeling it either. I just did tryons.
@carmencatalina i totally agree that it would be hard to wear a lot, because people remember the paillettes and the color.

  10. I am beyond annoyed that I just called to request a price adjustment and the rep wasn't understanding how much to credit me back. She didn't do the adjustment and promised to follow up but I'm not holding my breath. I guess this order is going to have to get returned and reordered, which I have never done before.

  11. I have a review of the seersucker pencil in lavender here. Kinda annoyed that I didn't get it with the 75% off, but it seems to be sold out in my size anyway, so I guess I'm glad I ordered it when I did!

    1. Amy, that's too bad but you did get a pretty good deal! I guess you are out of the price adjustment window? In the future of you order a fs item that is the wrong size (and the size you want is still available) call or email customer service and they will usually let you exchange it. I've don't it many times before.

    2. Thanks, Lauren! I'll keep that in mind for the future.
