JCA "Help Style Me!" Weekly Post

This is the weekly "Help Style Me!" post, where we can share items we are having trouble putting outfits together with. Elaine (in this post) says it best, "You know, that thing you bought because you love it and you keep pulling it out and then putting it away without wearing it?"

Please share your J.Crew item (either that you own or are thinking about getting) that you would love help creating an outfit with.

Also, please help out by offering your styling advice. Feel free to include links to your blog (where you incorporated that piece) or to Polyvore (where you showcased an outfit with that piece). Thanks in advance! :)

  1. Outfit idea for a few of my J.Crew favorite basics (silk cami, silk shirt, cargo pants) here.

  2. I think there are some new arrivals today - just a few. I really like the minnow print top and shorts, and a sleeveless Collection Japanese navy fringe shell. (Am I just behind at looking at the full price stuff? My apologies if so.)

The shoe collection makes me want to cry.

    1. I saw the fringe shell in real life. It was beautiful, but the fabric was too heavy for a sleeveless shell and for summer.

    2. Thanks - sounds right - it looks heavy. Maybe better for fall? If you've seen it then I guess I am behind on the "new" arrivals.

    3. Its not a new,new (if you know what i mean) arrival and there was a cream color too.

  3. I wore the Zip Pencil Skirt I picked up a couple weeks ago on sale plus promo - pic on Instagram (@legally_blondeish). It's a great fabric and the zipper adds the perfect amount of edge. I'm 5'7, but I got the petite and it still hits below the top of my knee.

  4. HELP! JCAs - do any of you own the BRIGHT NEON pink Cece flats? There's a brand new pair I'm looking to buy on Poshmark - the pictures look like the bright neon pink ones but the seller said the color name was "Neon Azalea." I have the Neon Azalea ones and they aren't neon - they're a darker, more subdued pink. I don't want to buy a pair of shoes I already own. If any of you own the neon pair - do you know what the color name is? I have googled to no avail. :( TIA!

    1. Taylor, this is going to drive me nuts. I have them...they are BRIGHT. But I purchased in store so don't have an email receipt...neon fuschia (which I know was a JC color) is sticking in the back of my brain but I can't be 100% sure. I absolutely know they are not neon azalea!! I'm going to keep racking my brain and I'll see if I have the box at home...

    2. Thanks Anne! Don't go out of your way. I THINK that the color name is actually Neon Pink. There was a classic ballet flat I found that had that color name. I am totally confused by this Posher - the shoes in the pic are definitely BRIGHT but she specifically said the color name was "Neon Azalea." I know what that color looks like and it's anything but neon. I don't know why they can't be consistent with their colors. I have a cashmere Tippi in Neon Azalea which is really neon but I also have the merino Tippi in Neon Azalea which is anything but neon. Poo. This is my #firstworldproblem of the day.

    3. I found my online shipping confirmation when I bought these online. They are listed as NEON PINK on my invoice.

    4. There are 2 different bright pinks for the Ceces. One is neon pink and one is neon azalea. I'm in the neon azaleas in this post. They're the same color as the enamel bracelet I have on in the last pic, also neon azalea. HTH

  6. FYI, J.Crew is currently running 50% off sale in stores (or at least in MD they are). HTH!

    1. In Chicago, 40% off sale and 50% of sale jewelry & accessories. The sale section was packed to the point I didn't even feel like looking. Really hate the remodeled store on Michigan Avenue. Not enough room to move or even view the merchandise and the store wasn't even busy at all today.

    2. Still 40% in California as of Thu nite.
