Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. OT, If you want a Jenna Lyons-emblazoned tote, your wish has been granted. This made me chuckle. http://www.brit.co/bossladies-bags/

    1. Haha, no! WWJLD? She would not buy a tote emblazoned with my image, so we're even :)

  2. I just noticed 25% off select items with code 'SALELOVE', includes some new arrivals.
It looks like 30% off FS is still being offered, too.

  3. When the 25% kicked in last night, it included all the regent blazers. So I had to email customer service about the sale if they would honor it. I even took a screen shot on my phone for proof...I wonder if they'll honor it. I doubt they would.

I went to the Crew yesterday to make a return. I'm not that impressed with what i saw; maybe because the store I went to carries a small amount of merchandise than my usual Crew store in downtown SF.
But sale items is at 40%, instead of 30 online.

    1. Yea, I'm disappointed the Regent Blazers are no longer included. I was planning on ordering one. I'll just keep waiting.

    2. Yes, I will be doing some returns. I realized today that I have or will return everything that I purchased from my latest online order. Not that I have not made other purchases in store on some sale items. I am interested in trying on some items from this latest rollout and see if any work out for me.

  4. Did anyone purchase the silk secretary blouse? I am wondering if this is the thin crepe de chine like they used in the regular Blythe blouse, or if it is a heavier weight. Thanks!

    1. Hi kitsmommy - I ordered it because I was curious to see how the fit was like. It wasn't thin nor was it heavy weight. It didn't feel like a heavy silk material. HTH!

    2. Thanks! I like the ivory, but I have a feeling it will be too sheer. I did order the Thomas Mason version of this shirt and it is lovely, but the cotton is a bit stiff. I was thinking the silk would drape better, but I was hoping it would be more like the luxe silk pieces.

Did you like it well enought to keep it? What color did you buy?

    3. I liked it, but I wouldn't spend full price for it. Like all of my JCrew purchases, I buy on sale. I tried on the green color and liked it, but it wasn't my first choice, I still prefer the blue. I also liked the stripe.

  5. As anyone seen the lightweight cotton cardigan? I am contemplating it, because I would really like a navy vneck cardigan for spring/summer, but not sure if this one is a yea or nay...

    1. I'd love to hear if it's a replacement for the Featherweight cardigans. I love those. I'm hoping it's super lightweight like those are.

    2. Are you talking about the Summerweight Cotton V neck cardi? I'm thinking of ordering it, just debating about the size - petite or regular. The body looks quite loose fitting.

    3. The description says semi-fitted (I believe) but it doesn't look fitted at all on the model - it looks quite boxy. I'm interested in hearing about it too!

    4. maryeb - that's the one. Taylor is right - they say it's semi-fitted but it looks so loose!

    5. Agreed, the description doesn't match the picture of it at all. I wonder if my local b&m has it. Haven't been in there in a few weeks. Maybe I'll stop by and see if they have them. I'll report back if I do.

  6. Has anyone seen IRL or tried on the Laser Cut Circle Midi Skirt? Curious how casual it comes off.

    1. I ordered it in the pink the day it came out but I am waiting for it to arrive snail mail. It usually takes a week :( Also ordered the "new" Campbells

    2. ShopLV (or anyone who knows), what is "new" about the New Campbell Capris?

      Delete
    3. I am not really sure it is anything other than a new batch considering the last go round had a ton of terrible reviews in regards to the seems splitting upon first wear. If you look at the Campbell's still lingering in the sale section you will see. The new description says the bi-stretch cotton fabric is new and improved but I am not buying that. I think it was more about the previous shoddy construction.

      Delete
    4. Haha I ordered a pair of the old Campbells last night for $25. I figured that + the $7 my alterations lady will charge me to reinforce the seams, it's still a good deal.

      Delete
    5. Thanks JessF! I was hoping they'd added belt loops to the pants this go round, but no. Good idea to have the seams reinforced Taylor!

      Delete
    6. I am not sure but if you type in a search you will see the old ones one sale and then then new ones in bi-stretch cotton. The old ones got poor reviews about it stretching out and seams coming loose. I like the bi-stretch wool so I ordered the poppy to see how they are. Also forgot the skirt is on back order.

  7. Stopped by in my travels today. It's surprising how many very recent arrivals are in the sale section. Lots of fireworks floral stuff. I think the dresses are the highlight of this rollout!

    1. As predicted, our sale section is full of those sweatshirts with the gold vertical stripe that Gigi reviewed. Our sale section is very full. I did find a nice heathered blue Tippi in there though, so yay. I ruined my old light blue one in my washing machine. I will be nicer to this one!

    2. Good find on the Tippi, Cate! I am always trolling the sale section for great basics.

    3. I think the firework floral would have been more of a hit if so much of it weren't done in polyester. The items that weren't polyester were encrusted in sequins. I liked the print itself, but the fabrics weren't what I wanted.

    4. I agree. I am really being picky in regards to what I buy as my wardrobe is pretty full. Looking for natural fabrics only. I also think the darker poly version of this print was very fall/winter, not spring. I am loving the new aquatic floral print. Items in silk and cotton and a springy palette? Yes please! Just worried the palette may not work with my skin tone.

    5. Fireworks was very fall/winter! I would've been more interested in natural fabrics and in September!

I haven't had much luck w the new prints, actually. Tried on the Aquatic Floral yesterday and it looked sooooo "granny" on me. I love the mint color but it can be tricky to wear. Ironically I wore the Moonlit Paisley silk top yesterday and got several compliments - forgot how happy that print makes me.

    6. Thanks for the mention, cate. That racing stripe sweatshirt was reviewed here.

  8. Not going this weekend as I have more orders to come (and most likely I"ll have returns)....but I received the Harper flats today. I opened the box and thought "these look weird". Well, they look weird on my feet and are uncomfortable. When I walk one of my toes hits the top of the shoe making it pop up. In theory they could be chic.....but they missed the boat for me. Back they go.
I have a sinking feeling about the rest of the things I ordered.....arg.

  9. Went to the vancouver Robson street store tonight. Lots of new arrivals in store for those interested. Nothing jumped out at me from the new arrivals. The silk aquatic floral dress was very pretty and I might go back to try it. The sale section was pretty small and was 30% off final sale. I picked up the navy wool no.2 pencil skirt. A basic for me and a fairly decent price.

  10. Long-time reader, first-time commenter! I went to the J Crew in Yorkville, Toronto yesterday (Friday) to get the Indigo-Patch Scarf after it sold out at another location, and was pleased to find two more on the shelf besides the display one. It was 25% off as well, so before tax, it ended up being $47. I would have liked to have paid much less, but after missing out on the French Hen Scarf a few years ago from putting off buying it forever and still regretting that, I don't mind paying a little extra for the peace of mind in knowing I have it for sure this time.

Otherwise, the only new arrival that's really standing out for me is the mesh wrap dress, which is online-only anyway. And I apparently need an XXXS for the Midweight Stripe Tee, so no go on that in-store either. Oh, and for Toronto, I noticed that the Yorkville location has the Brushed Metal Headband in both gold and silver, while the Eaton Centre location and online only has the silver one.

    1. The Yorkville location tends to get more of the fashion-y high end stuff, including Collection items, that don't make it to the other stores which are more mid-range but very similar to one another. I remember being at the Yorkdale JC when a sale rack of leather miniskirts arrived from the Yorkville location - sent the SAs into a tizzy of envious excitement!

    2. I bought the scarf as well.love it!

  11. I will be visiting at some point this weekend.

    Some reviews here.

  12. I tried the drapey lightweight skirt today and really liked it.Had to size down one size down to a 00.I got the ivory color.
Also tried the tank with the large flower on it(not sure of the name), but the fit was strange on me.

  13. Waiting on the black Tilly pullover and the crewcuts gold sequin pouch. Also, the lookout jeans in blacksmith wash. I can't wait to see where the distressed portions will hit on my leg. I do know that I like the fit a lot, so I'll be happy even if my legs aren't long enough to stretch out the jeans to show the rips.

  14. Anyone else having trouble with their online cart? Every morning I come back and several items are missing from my cart. I add them back, but then they are added back in multiples, so I have to hit the "Remove" button 28 times to get rid of the $2000+ in merchandise in my cart. This wasn't a one time occurrence, it's happened several mornings in a row. Wacky.

  15. A review of the Shadow Stripe Top in the safari and blossom colors. HTH!

  16. Has anyone reviewed the reversible bonded sweater? I am in love with it but have not been able to try it on and it sounds like it runs huge. How far would you suggest sizing down?
