Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. I'll be back this weekend, so hopefully a trip to J. Crew is in order.

  2. A review of the "new" Cece Metallic Ballet Flats here HTH!

  3. Most likely not, even though I'll be in downtown to watch Selma. It pains me to see the sale section at the SF market st. JCrew. Always a mess.

  4. Probably not. I made some returns last weekend and have yet to take tags off some 'crew Christmas goodies. I better attack those first lol!
Any insight on the maternity pixie pants for non-maternity people? They are still 40% off and I wonder if they are very different from the regular pixie pants. TIA!

  5. If anyone sees a high low crewneck sweater in heather sorbet -- i.e. pink (size S or M) please let me know! Otherwise, I don't really plan on hitting the stores this weekend.

  6. Debating on whether or not to make a trip to the clearance store in Arden. They have 30% off the entire store and 19.00 for all non cashmere sweaters. I will probably end up going.

  7. Just got back. Sale section was 50% off but the same old stuff so I passed. The store was so empty - nothing but tablefuls of Tillys which do not work for me. I bought a replacement Keeper Chambray and that was it - the new Pocket Chambray is nice in fabric and color but voluminous! I asked why there was no January Style Guide and got the same "there never is" baloney that other JCAs reported. Sigh. Does it ever seem that you know more about JCrew than the employees?

    1. *eyeroll* (not at you, ruffles, at JC)

The January '14 "Style Guide" is right on their Pinterest page. That must've been the script handed down from corporate. But why?

    2. I still have it. I think it had the girl in the odd peacoat with the huge buttons on the front cover. It was paper thin.

    3. JC must think we are so stupid that we wouldn't notice the lack of a catalog:)

    4. Wait, Doodle, you have it? I didn't get anything in the mail, and at 3 different stores SAs have said there was none.

I guess they're trying to save on paper and postage.

Or they're embarrassed because based iron the Pinterest version, it offers no new ideas.

    5. Sorry for the confusion - it's last January's (2014) catalog on Pinterest, which was my response to the "Oh, we've never had a January catalog" script that JCA's are hearing at the B&M. (I've seen a January catalog every year since at least 2007.) The 2014 one had no men's section which made it seem even smaller.

    7. No "style guide" but a Boden catalogue came today. I have never ordered from Boden but the catalogue made me smile?! Classics with great color and prints.

    8. Crewmum, Boden's things are very nice quality for the price.

    9. I've never ordered anything from Boden that fits correctly. Very high waisted, very slimmed hipped clothing. Not for me. It seems as though it's for tall, very thin, no hips, no chest.

    10. Blakemdjohns, I agree totally. I have purchased dresses from them in 3 separate orders and nothing has ever worked out. And I am English, so thought I would have a chance of items fitting me. :)

    11. Continuing this off-topic thread... the dresses that I have from Boden are mostly their summer dresses (many as replacements for the lovely ones J.Crew used to do), for example, the Knot Detail Dress.

  9. This is a bit OT but Racked had a link to the Washington Post with a holiday retail round up and apparently Old Navy was the big winner this year with the strongest gain in the women's dept. I'm wondering if they are managing to cash in on the fact that a lot of retail collections were weak this fall/holiday and for the price point a lot of their clothes can match J Crew or other retail offerings. Don't know when J Crew will post its holiday earnings report. http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/business/wp/2015/01/09/winners-and-losers-of-the-holiday-shopping-season/

  11. Hi....checked out both downtown Vancouver Stores ( I was out with a friend...not intending to go there ) the 50% off final sale is on. The SA told me new arrivals instore this Wed. She said we should expect some bright colors in the upcoming arrivals and that I should check back as more was coming for the sale section ??? maybe they are shipping us more from the U.S stores ? There were only a few pair of shoes at either store... I did not I buy anything....

  12. I picked up the merino belted cardigan in pink for $15, no style guide in that store, they didn't know anything about it!

  13. I visited two Chicagoland stores today. The sales sections and even the regular floor merchandise seemed fairly skimpy. In the sale section, there were mostly tees and warm weather items. No coats at all. No dresses. Almost no pants. I did manage to find two sweaters I was looking for- after having seen them on JCAs instagram or blog posts. With the 50% off, they ended up being very reasonable. Out of curiosity, I too asked when the January style guide would be released. I was surprised when the SA said with some confidence that it would be out at the end of this month. She said that's when the new rollout would occur. Who knows? Maybe we may see one yet?

    1. Why release a January style guide at the end of the month? Makes no sense. Maybe she meant a February style guide would be put out then?

  14. Has anyone heard when the next online roll-out will be, this Wednesday or the week after?

    2. Some items were rolled out at my concept store last week. Nothing too amazing, but I did eye a rose gold metallic sweater. It also comes in a deep slate and purple. I wasn't very impressed with the new collection.

      @Heather - that's disheartening to read...*sigh*
Because JCrew Spring is my other favorite season next to Fall.

    5. Hmmm My VPS said January 28th.

  15. I thought I heard new stuff in (U.S.) stores January 26th, which if true would mean the online rollout probably on the 28th?

  16. Did stop by to do a return and browsed around but nothing I wanted. There was a collection of outwear, obviously Xmas returns since there was a lot of petites. Including the Majesty Peacoat I returned in 6P 2 weeks ago, Most did not seem to be marked down to match online sale prices. My store was doing 50% off sale items. I did also ask about new arrivals and a vague answer of a couple of weeks was given. This store, Park Meadows, CO is getting a section for Crewcuts soon. Madewell was offering 40% off sale items but again nothing for me there either.

  17. An item I noticed in-store that may be part of the mini-rollout was a rain jacket. It was lightweight but seemed to be made of sturdy material- navy blue. It looked to be about mid-thigh length with a hood. I did look at the price and, if I remember correctly, it was $198 (which dissuaded me from trying it on right away). I am definitely interested- but left it for another day.

  18. No trips to JC. Too much fun perusing the new arrivals at Boden USA. I saw a number of items worthy of JC circa good old days.

Check out the lavender botanical print for this skirt. There are several A line skirts in additional to the pencil and minis. Best of all they offer long (aka tall) for most of their bottoms and dresses.
