JCA "Help Style Me!" Weekly Post

This is the weekly "Help Style Me!" post, where we can share items we are having trouble putting outfits together with. Elaine (in this post) says it best, "You know, that thing you bought because you love it and you keep pulling it out and then putting it away without wearing it?"

Please share your J.Crew item (either that you own or are thinking about getting) that you would love help creating an outfit with.

Also, please help out by offering your styling advice. Feel free to include links to your blog (where you incorporated that piece) or to Polyvore (where you showcased an outfit with that piece). Thanks in advance! :)

  1. Sharing an Instapic of the outfit I wore yesterday. Factory horse sweatshirt, rib-stitch cardi and in the pic is the factory quilted clutch. I wasn't enamored at first and initially thought I might return it. However, it has grown on me. There's a good chance I'm going to keep it.

Also in my feed are pics of the factory wool skimmers, which are lined. That lining is poly of course, but feels much better than the unlined retail wool skimmers. I got the aqua, which is gorgeous. Just beautiful. Not sure it's a match for me, personally. I also got the evergreen which reads grey if there isn't a lot of lighting. The color looks pretty good in natural light, though. As with the aqua, I'll have to play around and see if the green is a keeper or not.

    2. I love the color of those Skimmers - the aqua - Gigi. I think those will be so fab through winter & the color pairings are endless. I had bought several pairs last year that I gave to a friend as they're now too big (sad/not sad situation) but I did just score a brand new with tags pair of the glen heather plaid on Poshmark which should be waiting for me when I get home! I also have some in red from a few years back. I just love how they're fully lined.

    3. Taylor -- Ooh, the red ones. I have retail red and they're unlined, but I paid to have them hemmed so I better wear them. lol

  2. OT - In other news, Dina/My Superfluities made it to the final round of the sewing challenge. I loved her work last week, but this week is even cooler given the photography component the contestants also had to consider.

    Vote for Dina!

    1. Gigi! Thank you again. All you that supported me last week helped me get through to the finals (apparently it was *close*), so I know the votes helped! :) I can't believe I made it, though...I was pretty sure I was going to be out a lot sooner!
