Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. No. Not at all. Got an email from my VPS at the store that a new roll out will be in on Monday. Also got an email from my online VPS with a few pics of coats from the new roll out. So will be waiting for next week to see what's new, and perhaps some more mark downs? :D

  2. the cambridge satchels are on promo and eligible for the current discount online...the gold one is tempting me.

can anyone comment on these purses?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I don't have the satchels but I do have a briefcase I purchased directly from Cambridge Satchel Co. and it's a workhorse. The leather is very thick, a bit stiff but that helps retain the shape & structure of the bag. Stitches are very even, with no breaks or loose threads, and the hardware is solid. No flaws in the finish or color. Assuming the bags they did for JC are the same quality, they'd be a good buy at the sale + promo price.

    2. I have the gold, and love it. Have it with me today; have used it regularly all summer. My review is on the site - I'm 'HB Pineapple.'

    3. Have the mini in red and I love it . Mine has magnetic closures because I found the manual buckles quite bothersome. Just something to think about

  4. Keep on the lookout for a postcard from J Crew Factory that might come in the mail with an extra percentage off, I received one yesterday. Not sure why but I nearly threw it away when I didn't notice what it was.

    1. TeriLynn13 - The FALL and CARDPLUS codes that mimi posted are what was on the Factory postcard.

    2. Note....the Factory codes don't work on the puffer vests. I tried. lol So it probably excludes all outerwear. I don't have my postcard handy to confirm.

  8. Got an October style guide yesterday. There are a few cute things. There is a floral print that is on several items that looks sort of cute. Can't remember the name but it is on a sweatshirt and a pair of pants and a sweater. I wasn't blown away but there was also a buffalo check shirt in cream and black that I really liked. The spring stuff looks dreadful but maybe the fall stuff will perk up as the fall season kicks in.

  9. Hi JCAs,
For the reasons mentioned in the review thread the Regent Blazer in Vintage Red did not work for me, but because it is backordered online I wanted to to let the JCAs know I'm going to return it to the Southcenter store in Tukwila WA this afternoon about 2:00, so maybe they will let you do a call-send. Size 4. (Sorry, due to recent burn on the JCAX I won't do a direct transaction.) HTH someone.

    3. Nice, thanks for posting the link! I am looking forward to seeing everything once the style guide loads on pinterest.

    4. I don't know why they do it this way. JCAs have uploaded the catalog photos magnitudes faster than J. Crew does it. J. Crew has to be doing it slowly on purpose, can there be any other reason it takes so long every month?

      Delete
  11. Wow. This seems really early for October Style Guide. I so hope it is better than September. All the stuff on J. Crew Factory is making me yearn for last year's fall stuff. I own a version of like every single new arrival on J. Crew Factory from last year. LOL. I picked up one measly t shirt so far.

    1. Hi Susan - it does seem quite early! But the "big" rollouts are usually on the second-to-last Wednesday of the month, so the 17th would be it.

I briefly went in today for the first time in a month. Sale section was stuffed - lots of denim, tees with words, random button-downs. Nothing caught my eye, except the window displays. I like the multicolored envelopes in their fall palette.

      Delete
    2. Yes, rollout is in stores starting Monday. This is what a kind SA informed me. She wasn't so kind when she refused my request of a catalog.

      Delete
    3. Why on earth would an SA refuse to give you a catalog? How weird! I have seen such a range of SA's at J Crew - from amazing to terrible.

I'm looking forward to a big fall rollout. But I'll be sad if the offerings are more of the same. Offer me color! Offer me tailoring! Offer me cool prints! Offer me 2-3" heels! I'll buy - I promise!

      Delete
    4. The whole sweatpants vibe is killing me. And all the boxy frumpy tops. Can't a gal get her sexy on? LOL. I just feel like so many of the looks are not chic. I don't need to dress boyish. Note to J. Crew: I'm not a boy.

      Delete
    5. Susan...you don't want to look like Matt Damon? A young, Matt Damon?

    6. Ha ha. LMAO, gigi. I'm so over the androgynous thang. I don't care if looking fabulous is not fashion forward. It's what I want!!!! My first fall purchase was a fabulous Splendid cowl neck in deep red. I LOVE it. J. Crew is just not making me feel anything. Are we breaking up? And the coated jeans at Banana are phenom. OMG. I'm so off topic. Don't ban me, Alexis. Ha ha.

    7. Susan - The coated jeans at Loft are awesome. I'll have to see the ones at BR.

Alexis - Well, but the model does look like him in that shot... :)

  12. Probably the wrong place to post this but... any thoughts on the Factory Gigi pant? I just asked this on my IG but thought I'd throw the question out here too. How do they run size-wise? What is the rise like? Are they skinny enough to tuck into boots? I have tried on the front zip but am looking for info re: the regular side-zip ones. I've never tried on the Pixies either. (I HATE that the closest retail store is 2 hours away! Same with Factory!)

    ReplyDelete
  13. I have two pair of the factory Gigi's. They are pretty much TTS. The rise is good. Not low but not too high either. Definitely skinny enough to tuck into boots--I wear mine with boots all the time--OTOH, they are long enough to wear with both heels and ballet flats. A nice, versatile pair of pants, those Gigi's are!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Taylor - I agree w/Catherine on the Gigis. Mid-rise and not too short. They're a bit long on me (5'0"). I took my usual J. Crew size of 6.

  14. Hola chicas....I ordered the Collection Italian Wool Dress in navy sizes 00 regular and 00 petite. Lovely dresses but they don't work on my figure so I plan to return them this weekend. I paid $245 for each dress during the Labor Day promo. If any JCA wants them at the discounted, holler and we'll see if we can work something out.

I sent pics and a review to Gigi at her site (I don't have a blog and am pretty useless when it comes to that stuff). She'll post when she has time.

  19. Is it just me or did they end the EASYSALE promo early? I thought it was going on through September 14th.....Oh the retail games.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Mel - EASYSALE is still showing on the sale page. And yes, it's supposed to be good thru 9/14.

      Delete
    2. Thanks Gigi!! For me the 20% off promo has now disappeared completely from the site. Could totally be my cookie/browser issue.

      Delete
    3. it disappeared from my screen, too, and EASYSALE has returned. I think it was a JC glitch. I doubt my iPad could invent a promo and a whole list of exceptions with an end date of 9/24.

      Delete
    4. Now EASYSALE applies for 30% off "select" items (you can see this in the sidebar) - or was that always part of the promo? I haven't been paying attention. However, some of the things in my bag got the red "Excluded" stamp overnight, so maybe they're gearing up for that 20% promo.

      Delete
    5. 25% off everything with some exclusions for card members with onmycard

      Delete
    6. Just an FYI, try both promos on your items before checking out. I thought ONMYCARD would give me 30% off certain items but it only discounted 25%. I tried EASYSALE and then got 30%. Very annoying!!

  21. I popped into the Factory store yesterday (Toronto Premium Outlets). There was a full complement of puffer vests, toothpick jeans at 50% off, and jewelry and accessories at 40% off. I was looking for the houndstooth sweaters, but they only had one XS in each colorway. They did have a lot of the houndstooth sweatshirts.
    Very small sale section.
The sleeveless ruffle neck shirts were $29.99, and I picked up the herringbone one, very cute on with grey chinos.

  24. Hi JCAs, I am looking to buy a few shirts in petite off the factory website. I've always bought regular sizes and just rolled the sleeves, but as I recall, sometimes regular sizes at factory don't work for me for the shirts because the overall length is too long. Could someone please comment on whether I should be sizing up from regular sizes to buy the factory petite? FWIW, I'm a pear shape. Thanks for your help.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I usually do size up one size (Regular M to Petite L) when purchasing P sizes with both Factory and Retail sizes.
This has worked well for me thus far.

  25. OT: Is it just me or is it irrelevant to feature the same Women in 'Girls We Know', wearing the same Bib Popover Shirt, the Stadium Cloth Hooded Coat, the Cashmere Camel sweater, or the Eastwood Jean. It was fine when they were featured on last month's style guide, but on October's style guide, again?

How about featuring women in different sizes (tall, petite, size 2 to a size 8) wearing these shirts, coat, sweater and jeans? To me that makes a statement. All these women look like they're the same size. It doesn't do anything for me....

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I do not want four pics of the above items mentioned either ....and give us more color and maybe throw in some femininity while your at it J Crew....

      Delete
    2. I'd love to see models in different sizes and shapes, too.
I read on JC's blog that Saada Ahmed is 5'2". It's really nice to see how the clothes look on a petite model. I hope JC does this more often.

      Delete
    3. That was a waste of catalog space. It's as if they are trying to promote these individuals rather than the clothes. It would be one thing if they showed all their offerings in the style guide, but they've already pared it down quite a bit in terms of showing the clothes. With this kind of feature, they show even less of what they're selling.

      Delete
  26. I just took a look at the October style guide on Pinterest, and have to say that the women's section looks incredibly boring so far. The men's section looks fantastic as usual though. I really do hope that there is more to the fall collection than what they're showing in the style guide, and that the next large rollout will bring some pretty fall items (ones that are wearable in everyday life) for us.

On another note, there is a lot to love over at Madewell, IMO. I have close to $2000 worth of items in my shopping cart right now, and have shared many of the items I'm loving in this post and in this post. I'm hoping they'll offer another 40% off promotion again soon, and add some more markdowns to the sale section, too. :)
