J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs!}

This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.

So if you have recently purchased, or stopped by a J.Crew store to try on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.

In particular, if you could mention a few of the noteworthy details like fit, size, fabric, and the like— that would be fantastic! Thanks in advance! :)

    1. I LOVE that red currant shade - sorry you didn't care for it on you! I haven't seen it in person - I prefer purple-toned burgundy shades & that definitely looks like it skews that way.

    2. I think the color skewed more towards red irl, but you should definitely check it out for yourself. I am drawn to that color family (esp for fall) but will have to limit myself to oxblood shoes and accessories because of my skin tone.

  2. Off topic but I just got an email with a unique code for $25 off $100 plus free shipping for my first J Crew purchase. The email wants me to give J Crew a try. The irony of that!

    1. I received this email, too. It's in an email account I do NOT give at the store. I loved the wording, too. Give us a try - ha! Take a look in my closet.

    2. I know! Mine was sent to the email I always use at stores
and when I order online and my J Crew CC. Funny.

    3. I find it really odd that J Crew no longer sends me emails to the address I give at the store and when I order online. Why do they ask every time I make a purchase if they aren't going to send me the daily email re: promotions? It is so strange.

    4. Same here! I found it funny too considering I've placed two orders (with that email) in the last few days...

    5. I got a similar unique code but for $50 off $150. I just placed an online order (for an amount over $150) the day before, but I got two different codes to both of the emails that I have signed up for J.Crew promos (accidentally).

    6. I got the $50 off $150 too...also on an account that I haven't used for a couple of years....

    7. I received one too and deleted it, thinking it was just another promo advertisement {yeah trash can}. The account I use at J Crew, no matter how many times I try, never gets J Crew e-mail messages. The e-mail account that received the coupon is the one I use for J Crew blogging...

  5. Hi Alex and other JAC, I have been a long time lurker and learned a lot from lovely ladies in this community. I just started my own blog and did a review of the Sophie Embroidered Loafers here. I appreciate if you could head over and show some loves.

    Thanks again for your support.

  8. Has anyone seen the asymmetrical zipper skirt? I'm wondering about the weight of the wool. Is it like double serge?

  9. Sorry this is off topic but Banana Republic is offering 30% off BR Picks for cardholders with code BRPICKS and 40% off everything else with code BRLABOR. Good for today only. Just thought I would share since BR picks are rarely included in the promos.

    1. Also, apparently 20 % off BR picks if you're not a cardholder...

  11. I just got the pom pom dress in size 4 and I felt it fit a bit weird- like my boobs where being pushed together (and i'm an A cup...) yet the body was still too full- I'm thinking of maybe getting the straps brought up a bit to get it to fit a bit better...

  13. I received the quilted denim pencil skirt, and I would say it is a tight TTS. If you are in between sizes, order your bigger size. It is darker than pictured, with very stretchy denim fabric. Wore it for an hour with no sag or stretch noted. But in a way, I feel like it is not as good quality denim as I would like. It sort of reminds me of cheap stretchy denim from Forever 21. Pockets are shallow but definitely no lumps and bumps to be seen. About 1.5 inches shorter than the No.2 pencil skirt. I'm keeping it because of the quilted design. If it weren't for that, I would just get a similar style skirt at the Gap.

  14. I made a bunch of returns this past weekend and wanted to try on the Toothpick in Destructed Miller for funsies. I ended up totally falling in love (even my husband loved them and encouraged me to get them) and am wearing them now as I write this!

I've noticed reviews online - and even the SA I was working with - have suggested to size down, but I took my usual Toothpick size (which is actually one size up from the Matchsticks). The denim has a good amount of stretch so I can see why one would size down, but I don't like my skinny jeans to be too tight. It's been a few hours and so far no bagging whatsoever. I've never been of the Toothpicks before in the past, so consider me converted!

    1. I have the tooothpick in the deconstructed miller wash ( and also reviewed them on my blog) and i agree to go with your regular size.
They are perfect and do not bag at all!!!!

    1. Hi Gigi! Did you get your quilted pencil skirt yet? I'm curious to hear your thoughts about it. Thanks!

    2. Hi Tisha - I recvd the quilted pencil skirt. It's gonna be a return. I don't know why I thought it would feel quilted. It's only the stitching, so it's a visual quilting which is probably for the better. No extra visual weight. I didn't like the fabric covering the zipper it poked out and exaggerated the backside. I only tried it on once, but felt like it was meh. I'll try it on again before I return it, to be sure.

  18. Has anyone here tried on the Dannie pants yet? Thoughts? Are they the best of both worlds (combo of Pixies and Minnies)? Thanks!

    1. I hated the Dannie pant. It has a higher rise (which is ok) but the back zipper made my average booty flatter than a pancake.
