J.Crew Sale: 200 Brand New Styles

"Thanks!" to many of you, who let us know the following news.

J.Crew sent out an email yesterday letting us know that 200 new styles were added to the sale section (click here to shop online). Yey! Great timing to use with the the additional 40% off all sale items with promo code TREAT. This code expires August 3, 2014.

"Thanks!" to Unknown (in this post) who shared the following news with us:
JCA'S I just spoke with a SA in Seattle. She told me all old merchandise will be pulled form the floor after closing on Sat. Aug. 2......said they all will be in full fall mode after Sat. ....I guess the sale online section will be 1800 items by next week.....
It makes sense that brick and mortar (B&M) stores would want to clear out their sale sections to make room for all the Fall merchandise. However, the sale section online is still rather full. J.Crew has proven to resist using kill prices on pieces that are lingering (aka "let it go" items!) I am wondering if they will just send it all to their warehouse/ clearance centers instead...

Did you check out the Sale section? Were you able to snag any amazing deals? If so, please share! :)

P.S. Apologies for not posting this sooner. My DH spilled soda all over his laptop (effectively killing it) and so we have been sharing mine in the meantime. ;)

  1. I have no comment except the ice cream sandwiches look good and hope they send it all to Arden for a big warehouse sale. The sale section at my store looks pretty miserable anyway so glad to see it go.

  2. Finally got the Vans in coral print for $30+shipping. I'm surprised they were included because of the brand, but I'm not complaining. Though tbh, the even sweeter sale would be better with free shipping. ;)

I haven't been to my local B&M in months, but recently was at the one in Des Moines and their sale section was taking up a lot of space so it's not surprising that stores want to get rid of it all.

  3. I grabbed three cashmere featherweight henleys in camel, gray (pearl) and brilliant blue. I had them on my wish list so was thrilled when they were $49.99 each! I also threw in a bandana to get the free shipping since it was only $5 anyways. I stuck with my original size even though the reviews said they ran a little large

  4. I haven't looked at sale in months, but I noticed today that they have a lot of denim in the sale section. Has anyone tried te toothpick jeans in the dark rinse? How would rate/compare them to Madewell's skinny skinny?

    1. I have both and prefer the Madewell skinny skinny jeans. The fit is consistently better on me, and the wash is holding up better over time. I am an hour glass curvy size 8 for fit comparison. Good luck!

  5. Good luck w/the laptops, Alexis. That's never fun.

Review of the double-strap sandals, which are available online only. Currently $109.99 + TREAT.

  6. I would really love if some of the items that have been promo-priced for a while finally made it to a .99 sale - mostly some jewelry pieces I've been eyeing and those Vans slip-ons. That way I could grab them with 50 percent off sale and not feel TOO bad about it. I've already given J. Crew way too much of my money this summer; I shudder to even think about it.

  7. There really are some great deals with the extra 40% off right now, especially with all of the recent markdowns that have happened over the past couple of days. I may consider picking up another sweater or two since it will start to cool down here in another month or so.

For those interested, I've noted the new markdowns and promo-priced items in this post on my blog. The promo items are at the top of the list, and the sale markdowns are towards the bottom of the list. :)

  8. This might be crazy talk but I'm thinking of taking August off from J Crew shopping not because I'm over it but because I just have too much stuff. I really love the things I've gotten this summer like the ecru stretch denim jacket, the white Nolita denim jacket, the vintage denim jacket, and the linen rib-knit sweater which I'm wearing right now. I'm thinking of using Tradesy to unload some excess clothing. I'm running out of room!

  9. Stopped into the B&M and 50% was still going on. It's been reported in another post as well, but the SA confirmed that after Saturday (August 2) all the "old" sale was being boxed up and sent back to the warehouse (I assume this doesn't include newer markdowns like the pom-pom tank and pintuck cami). So popbacks will be coming online but beware JCA's - especially on the linen pieces - the ones in the sale section looked RAGGEDY.

    2. Long time lurker, first time posting - thanks to all the JCAs for this tip! I called customer service and told them about the $49.99 black suede Martinas at Westfield San Francisco Centre (pre-50% discount), and they were able to verify the price and I got them for $24.99! Amazing! My first pair of Martinas, I'm so happy!

    3. I called customer service just now and was told that they are still full price in store. The rep called 2 stores to confirm. What a great deal!!!

  12. I've been trying hard not to shop but this sale got me- and that military shirt dress I caved and got it at full price- I love it! Taking it with on my Munich and Istanbul trip. I also scored a pop back guilded dot brocade shift, got the beach shirt on full price (but I've been to some of these places...I had to have it...) some chambray shirts, linen t, the hibiscus twist shift dress (praying it fits and don't have to exchange) the gemstone floral (which I had gotten and returned but then saw the pop back at size P8 so I got it again from 124 to 77 (woo hoo) silk crepe maxi- nice to touch but way too big even though I sized down- it's final sale so I may just wear with a bandeau bra or get it taken up in the shoulders. And I got the cracked metallic shoe in gold (to go with the dot brocade dress of course) and a pair of wedge espadrilles. My shopping bag is still full of stuff that they added this am.
