J.Crew Updates Website with New Arrivals!

"Thanks!" to many of you, who let us know that J.Crew had an update to its website (click here to view online).

There are some new arrivals for men (click here) & women (click here). {wahoo!} It looks like Crewcuts (click here) has been updated, but not the J.Crew Collection (click here).

The JUNE catalog (click here to view) is finally up. So nice to see all the beautiful images from J.Crew.

I don't know why, but I am going through a serious scarf phase in my life right now. Top of my lust list, is the  Floral medallion scarf (item A8866). I love the colors and the pattern. I hope its just as pretty in person.

The Gingham Bubble Dress (item A5589) is a tricky little number. I love the gingham pattern, the bow on the back, and the fitted waist. I am just not crazy about the bubble hem! Ugh.

J.Crew is still offering customers 30% off Sale and 50% off select Final Sale items with promo code SWEET. This offer expires today, June 4, 2014. It is worth mentioning that a lot of new items made it to sale. YEY!

What items are you most excited about and why? Which items are you surprised (or not surprised) to see? Which items did you hope would be included? Were you expecting a bigger roll-out? Also, did you receive the latest catalog? :)

  1. I checked out the new arrivals but I didn't really see anything I liked. I do like the silk and gathered knit maxi dresses, but I can find other ones like those styles for much less (and silk doesn't fit my lifestyle). The only thing I wishlisted was the gauze maxi skirt.

I bit on the sale though and took a chance on the gold chocolate metallic slingbacks in a size 8, a half size larger than my normal size. They were $83+ tax, which I think is a really good deal.

  2. I hate to say this, but Jcrew is off their game. Selections are boring this season! I can get all the loose boxy sweaters and wordy tshirts in other retailers for less! Nothing unique is being offered, and I'm sure their sale section will continue to be packed!

  3. I was sooo hoping for some fun new colors in the Minnie pants - lime green, orange, or some other summer color but we're stuck with a pine green and pinot noir left over from winter...Nothing really strikes me in this rollout either.

  5. Another striped tee with a jeweled collar -- how unique! Agree with other comments that nothing is thrilling me right now. I'm sad about it.

  6. The Floral Medallion scarf is lovely. I don't need another scarf, but given a promo, I might bite on this one.
I also like the Muscle tees, Lace-trim drapey tank, Chiffon sleeve tee and Seamed Matelasse skirt.

  7. I see some cute items, but a lot of these remind me of some of the cute items I saw at Target today. Something is off, maybe the styling? Maybe it's the way the lighting is? Hmm.

I bet if I actually ever went to a store, I would see more to love, but I don't, 'cause you know, insane children under 8.

When I see something on Ina or Gigi or AudreyBella, etc., I usually end up liking it, but on these models on the site, they seem more blah.

Anyhow, not that it matters. J. Crew has probably given up on me as their customer. LOL.

    1. I did put two items on my wishlist, though, one of the necklaces shows promise, which surprised me since I haven't bought a piece of jewelry from them in a long time.

    2. Hi Dina! I'm glad to hear you found some jewelry you like! I have bought 3 pairs of earrings (in one week!) after not purchasing any J. Crew jewels for a year! I wish the J. Crew would bring back some more classic looking things...I love my long bead necklaces with the enameled animal clasps, my critter bracelets, etc, and my classic link bracelets. I'm SOOOO over the Lulu things. I look forward to the day when they move on to something else.

    3. Dina - Thx for the mention!

I agree, the product lighting and/or whatever filter they might be adding is awful. A white skirt against a white background isn't very helpful.

  8. I stopped in my store to look at the Pintuck sundress. Of course it wasn't there. So I ordered both the white and navy. Now I'm wondering why?! I'm sure they will look like a nightgown on me! We'll see....

    1. I thought this dress looked perfect for a hot Summer day. I'd love an easy, breezy dress.
I love the colors in the Carrie dress, but it definitely looks a bit like a nightgown on the model. Fingers crossed the Pintuck works out for you. I'm looking forward to your review.

    2. Hi maryeb! I will let you know what I think! It does look like the perfect summer dress. I'm just hoping it's not too unstructured and flowy. I like some "flow" but not too much. It doesn't look too huge through the body of the dress and I like the fitted bodice detail. It's the kind of summer dress I look for every year and seem to not find any that are simple and elegant. They are usually too young looking, too lacey, too sheer....you know!? I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

    3. Hi StrayCat - I reviewed it in last week's thread. I hope you have better luck than I did. It felt like I was wearing a huge pillowcase in my usual 4. If I were going to try it again I'd probably size down and go to a petite size because the length and the style just made me feel dumpy. Please let us know what you think!

    4. silver_lining.....Hee! Nightgown, pillowcase! Oh dear! Well, I don't really have high hopes for it. I thought about ordering down....but didn't. I'm pretty sure it's going to look sloppy on me, but I guess I was feeling lucky. When WILL I learn....hee!

  12. Okay having problems with posting on my iPad. Did want to mention that I am excited about the patio skirts in both burnt out linen and photo floral both are 69.99 ( 40% off in store vs 30% off online) IMO it's worth the few extra dollars to avoid final sale. Also purchased the linen swing tank in photo floral 29.99 (40% off in store/ 30% off online), runs small I took XS and it still drapey. Also picked up a few skinny belts on final sale. Glad there are skirts that aren't mini as my 5'10 height makes trying to pull then off a little awkward to say the least. I am really excited in was able to get the skirts and hope they have more like them also picked up several weeks back the pleated silk skirts in navy and a pale nude. Love them.

  13. Pleated skirt i.e sunburst skirt 30 in store versus 62 online. Stores the better deal but the colors just aren't available in my store.

  14. Alexis, I really like that scarf too! I also like both the navy striped and ivory/gold anchor muscle tanks, although they're pricey for basic tops.

  15. I like the scarf too. Hope it goes on super sale. I own HUNDREDS of scarves. I hang some as art on a ladder type "shelf" in my bathroom dressing room area. I however have only paid for price for (none) of them:) In Europe I can find gorgeous ones at charity shops and here I look for big sales. VB has such gorgeous ones as well. Preferred when JCrew had 100% silk ones and have a huge collection of their scarves mainly from 2004-2011

  16. They completely ruined the gingham dress with that bubble hem. What were they thinking?! I would've considered it otherwise.
