Weekly Share: Other JCrew-like Retailers

This is the weekly "Other JCrew-like Retailers" post (similar to the "Off On A Tangent" posts), where we can share our finds from other retailers that have offerings similar to J.Crew (like Anthropologie, LE Canvas, Gap, BR, Talbots, Ann Taylor, and the like.)

If you have recently encountered items that are similar to J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Please feel free to share your story on almost any topic— including experiences with certain merchandise pieces, promotions/ offers, in-store visits, transactions with store associates, etc.

  1. I was browsing Club Monaco and happened upon the beautiful Jamie Bow Pump and Erika Bow Flat that are reminiscent of the Valentina bow pumps and Viv flats respectively. Wish I had a CM near me. Their clothing is subtly alluring and sophisticated.

  2. Madewell is offering 30% off select styles today (4/30) only (w/ ONEFINEDAY). I highly recommend the Pocket-front tee in stripes!

I'm interested in the Cobblewalk pullover and the Knitmix pullover. Anyone have any thoughts on one or both of those?

    1. I'm also considering the Skinny Skinny jeans in Madewell rinse if anyone has thoughts on those as well (compared to other washes, etc.)! For reference, I have the skinny skinny jeans in sky wash and the legging jeans in arctic blue. Thanks so much!

    2. I have the cobblewalk pullover in 2 colors and absolutely love it! It's perfect for layering and is really comfortable. I took my normal size (XS). It runs slightly loose/large but not enough to size down. Highly recommend! As for jeans, I have the skinny skinny in other washes and love them, they are so comfortable and don't stretch out too much. I wear a lot of MW on my instagram (trestippy) but haven't posted any outfits w/ the cobblewalk pullover just yet. Hope this helps!

    3. Thank you so much! :) That really helped and I ended up getting the Cobblewalk pullover (the jeans went back to their retail price this morning so I decided against them).

  3. I've shared numerous J.Crew-like items in this post on my blog. Included this week are alternatives for the schoolboy blazer in glen plaid, cleo perforated mirror metallic loafers, and jeweled cluster sweatshirt, just to name a few. :)

  4. I reviewed the Madewell Outbound Jacket in Camo here this past weekend. It's the same as the vintage-dyed camo jacket that is part of the 30% off onefineday promo, except it doesn't have the 'vintage dyed' color on the inside.

  5. I purchased a fishing print skirt from Talbots yesterday that is lovely and very old school crew. It is not lined, but the fabric is lovely and it is very well made. Also it has stitched down pleats that made it more flattering on me than many of J Crew's more recent offerings.

  6. Loving Loft right now! I am a huge J Crew fan but...look at Loft's website, for some reason they only have the great stuff online and not in the stores. I bought 5 linen tees that are nicer than some i've gotten at J Crew , beautiful colors $15 each and they had free shipping! Also got the cami dress...sooo beautiful! What?!!! usually i don't bother with Loft cause I don't like what they have in stores, check out the website!

  8. JCrew used to make beautiful flowy skirts that were a nice wearable length. Been buying skirts at Boden the past few years. Nicely made and most are lined. Got a 20% off anything and free shipping and free returns code as well. Ordered 4 skirts. Got 2 and love them. Waiting on the other two which are above the knee respectable length "mini" skirts. Love that they offer TALLS too.

    1. I agree Genny! I wouldn't have a single dress to wear if it weren't for Boden and their tall sizing!

  11. Been really liking Madewell lately. Went into the store this AM and there are so many things I want!! I tried on a gorgeous maxi-dress and there were several other things I really liked. Madewell is definitely more in line w/my taste lately than JC

  12. Does anyone have any tips for a place that carries something similar to the CeCe flats? I love my black CeCe's but the elastic is showing through.

    Thanks!
