Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. If anyone is shopping J.Crew online, Ebates is doing 10% back right now for Black Friday.

  2. Can someone please put the following items on hold if discovered during your shopping adventures this weekend. Haven't had much luck in snagging them online...

Factory classic button-down shirt in jeweled oxford
item 04503 - Size Medium or Large

Merino Tippi sweater in French knot item 03178
Ivory (blue/grey/black dot) - Size Medium or Large.

    Thanks a bunch :)

  4. Just FYI to confirm it's just the 30% off in store. You're better off online using ebates.

  5. I will not be heading to the mall this weekend, but do want to share that there have been a lot of new Promo-Priced items added to the sale section online over the past couple of days, as well as some new markdowns, too. I've compiled the new list and posted it here. You can see the list of already existing promo items & markdowns here. :)

  6. Has anyone tried stacking the educator's discount with the 30%? I'm American but living in Toronto, and the higher prices and taxes are hard to stomach.

    1. The two times I called San Francisco Centre for a charge send, they've always honored my teacher discount without needing to see proof. The staff is super nice. I would definitely ask!

    2. Hi Erica - HOLIDAY is a global promo and they're not supposed to do the student/educator discount with it. Same goes for the 50% off storewide on the Factory side. As Wendy stated, definitely ask. The consistent thing about J Crew is the inconsistency.

    3. Thanks Gigi and Wendy! I've found that it depends store to store here, and have managed to stack my educator discount with a global promo in the past. I really hate the inconsistency, though!

    4. Tried to stack the educator % today at the Eaton Centre - no luck, unfortunately.

  7. I won't be, as I went on Wednesday to shop and look at the new items. I did get the skier sweater, so cute! I'm sensitive to wool so it was a tiny bit itchy, but it was too cute to pass up, so I'll be wearing a tee or button down under it.

  8. If anyone sees the bi-stretch wool Minnies w/the zippers in sz. 6 or sz. 4, could you pls either lmk or put them on hold?? It's probably wishful thinking, but thought I'd put it out there. Thanks!!

  9. Review of the merino embroidered lace sweater (looks like a picture frame) and the pleated lace-stripe blouse in this post. The silk blouse was marked $10 cheaper in-store than i sis online.

  10. OT, but has anyone seen the Madewell Jeweled Tee? Thought I might get one for my niece while the price is right! Wondering about the quality of the fabric, etc.

  12. I updated the In-Store Price Notes. Check for 11/27 in red for the most recent info. Most of the prices are the same in-store & online. The average price difference is about $10 difference in price, in most cases. Some items are $10 cheaper in-store than online and vice versa. I've also noted prices that are identical.

I was told the wool-shawl collar blazer (review) is $169.99 in-store vs $199.99. I didn't buy it, so I don't know for sure.

  14. Did anyone else notice that the collection leather short-sleeved shirt has been completely removed from the website?

    1. Saira - leather is excluded from the promo, so that's likely why it's missing

    2. Sara, the grey and the stripe are showing up in the sale section ($118.99 for the grey and $99.99 for the stripe) - there is a full size run of both. Tried a mock checkout with the HOLIDAY code and they both are coming up with 30% off. Exclusion must only be for FP items. HTH!

  16. Nothing at the retail store I wanted to try. I placed an online order today rather than in store to take advantage of the 10% ebates refund: Tartine stachel in pebbled black (I actually purchased this before on promo PLUS discount but returned it because I really don't need it, but decided to purchase with my rewards card once I got it and discovered it was more than I thought. I think it was the Factory double points in Oct. I was hoping it would go to promo again but decided to just go for it with the 30% off even though it hurts a little to know that I bought it before at a cheaper price), metallic blush Martina, and boucle motorcycle jacket which I tried on when it first came out and love. With the 30% off and rewards card the total price for all three items was digestible, if it didn't give me a bit of heartburn:) But then what's Thanksgiving without a little heartburn, right? Also caught a much stalked popback yesterday, the collection circle skirt in navy from last year. I paid $8 for shipping on that puppy because I had such a bad experience with Surepost on my last order and I didn't want to risk losing it from my cart while I searched for ride alongs to meet the min free shipping. The skirt actually shipped today! I would highly recommend spending the extra $3 to get standard shipping if you are paying for shipping or ordering ride alongs to meet the $175 min for free standard shipping. Surepost bites.

A bit off topic but something I've posted about before that seem to be of interest to some JCAs has been my quest for a sleek riding boot. I placed a few orders online at Nordstrom, who is having a pretty decent sale, for the AGL tall boot (for those who never tried AGL shoes, I highly recommend them. I have several of their pump and wedge pump styles and love them. They are known for their flats, but I don't wear flats. They are not cheap but they are hand made in Italy and the leather is like butter.) I also bought the Stuart Weitzman Setaside which is somewhst like a shorter knee length version of the popular over the knee 5050. Not really a riding boot per se but based upon the reviews may work with my skinny ankle problem. Both boots were heavily discounted (40-50% off) which is not common for those brands. I'll let you know how it goes!

  18. I may be very late to the pRty but when did J Crew introduce tops in women's xxl? I noticed it while shopping on the mobile site yesterday.

    ReplyDelete

    1. liztriden - I believe XXL used to be more common in both men & womens & has since been offered much less as the company has tried to cut costs.

      Anyone else...?

  20. New store at Park Royal....West Vancouver. Canada.
    Has a sale section..(nice store)
Saw the new" skier sweater" It has an exposed zipper in the back and the wool ? or what ever it is felt cheap for J Crew.
Here in Canada ...it seems hit and miss what we get. we now have lou lou frost jewellery but really zero for new shoes and bags...
The new anthropolgie store next to crew was
way busier and sa's were super keen to help...
I think J crew prices are too high when Zara is also next store....with a lot of cute items re;tattersal trousers and red/black buffalo check tops. HTH

    1. Hi Unknown. I agree with your assessment about what we get in the Canadian stores. I think we are a bit behind in what the stores get too. I also agree that the Canadian prices are crazy high. I think it will be interesting to see how the park royal store does given the location beside anthropologie. It is a very nice store though.

  21. I did stop by since I was in the mall. Park Meadows, CO store. They had toothpicks in denim and black denim for $79.99, plus other jeans (Matchstick) and cords for the same price. Also, saw some of the Skinny Utility Chino, vintage aubergine, quite a few sizes for $19.99. They had 3 pairs of black, zippered, wool Minnies, 0, 10 and 12 for $99.99. The Herringbone skinny cargo pants were marked down to $39.99. Painter Tees $19.99. 2 XXS Tippi in Coco Brown for $29.99. All prices prior to 30% off. I purchased a painter tee and pair of black toothpicks.

  23. Braved the mall and picked up the Skier Sweater because I love the retro design and think it will look adorable with black and white prints with a pop of color BUT ... why did they have to put an exposed zipper on it?

Land's End got most of my $ yesterday. They are having crazy "Doorbusters" in Sears all weekend. Snowflake-print Polartec Aircore half-zips are $15 and matching hats/gloves are $5. The best deal: Quilted Down Vests in cute colors are an unbelievable $19. The petite is a nice trim fit and length on me. The quality is soooo good if you can size down and get a trimmer fit.

    1. Ruffles, how did your size in these down vests compare to your jcrew size in the excursion vest? Just in case they show up in a cyber Monday deal......

      Delete
  24. Shopping Celle, I am 5'4" and I wear a size 4 or Small in J. Crew tops, including my Excursion Vests. In Land's End I do size down and wear an XS or Petite S, depending. I liked the shorter length of the Petite S in the down vest because I like the look of a sweater or fleece peeking out the bottom.

HTH. LE cuts can be dowdy and boxy compared to JC if you don't size down, which is a shame because their quality and no-time-limit guarantee are unbeatable. Oh, and their cashmere is luscious, doesn't pill and lasts forever.

  27. Does anyone have any idea what sort of deal J Crew might be offering online tomorrow? I am tempted to place an order today, but I will be kicking myself if they offer free shipping tomorrow (or kicking myself if I wait and the 30% actually goes away tomorrow!). Neither of the items I want are low stock....what to do?

    ReplyDelete

    1. Kate W - JCAs have guessed that the 30% will be extended w/free shipping no min. I'm guessing that's accurate based on the past.

      Delete
    2. I agree Gigi. 2011 was 20% + free ship > $150. Last year was 25% off site wide (30% for cardholders) plus free ship no minimum.

      Delete
    3. I agree, althought they "could" revert it back to 25% off. The best is to stay up until midnight ET to see what Cyber Monday brings while the Holiday promo is still in effect.

  28. Has anyone seen they bow popover at their store? I am curious about color. Is it red or burgundy as the color name insinuates (looks red on my monitor).
Also I saw the buffalo check cashmerr scarf but I can't remember it it is black/red or navy/red. Any info appreciated ;-).

    1. Ema, you might consider the men's section for wool or cashmere scarves, there are more choices available. I often do and got a beautiful warm and soft wool black/red buffalo check last year.

  29. I really like the the cashmere scarf and it is definitely navy/red. If you are looking for black/red, Talbots makes one in a larger scale buffalo plaid. They call it a wrap but I believe the size is similar to the J Crew scarf. I haven't seen the bow blouse yet.
